Hi all,

This is my first post on here - woohoo!

My name is Bailey, a 25-year-old Bitcoin Enthusiast since 2015. I am the founder of mrsatoshi.com, bitbyte.news, and thebitcoinlegacyproject.org

At the beginning of this month, I announced my upcoming book Orange Pill'd - An anthology of 250 individual Orange Pill'd stories from fellow Bitcoiners in 72 different countries.

Here is a short rundown of what the book is about:

"Orange Pill'd is a captivating exploration of the human experience in the digital age. It is a powerful anthology that brings together 250 Orange Pilled stories from Bitcoiners around the world, revealing the transformative impact of the world's most revolutionary digital currency, Bitcoin.

From tales of financial freedom and empowerment to accounts of challenges and personal growth, Orange Pill'd takes you on a journey through the lives of individuals who have been forever changed by their encounters with Bitcoin. Each story is presented on a single page, accompanied by a hand-drawn illustration that adds an intimate, diary-like feel to the collection.

Discover how Bitcoin has sparked a global movement, uniting people from diverse backgrounds and experiences in their quest for a more decentralized, transparent, and equitable financial system. With a mix of inspiring, heartwarming, and thought-provoking stories, Orange Pill'd offers a unique window into the hearts and minds of those who have dared to embrace the promise of a better future.

Whether you are a seasoned Bitcoin enthusiast or a complete beginner, Orange Pill'd invites you to delve into the personal narratives that define this groundbreaking movement and to share in the triumphs, challenges, and dreams of those who have been Orange Pill'd."

Thanks all & keep stacking!

It's a good initiative. There is lack of books about the rise of cryptocurrency, and about people who are behind this epic rise. I'd really love to read Your book as soon as it's published! This community needs good authors! Best wishes!

You don't have to be rude about it though, don't other crypto platforms start quickly after creating their accounts to promote their company by conducting campaigns? So I don't think that OP here isn't doing anything wrong, you're just probably sensitive.

To OP, congratulations to you and hopefully your book launch will be a success and that you will be able to spread the word to people around the world the stories that you've collected.

Thank you for the support! Appreciate the kind words Smiley

Great job contributing to the worldwide adoption of Bitcoin as the one and true currency. And thanks for the free pages. I have skimmed through them and I think that even people who are not dedicated readers will have no problem perusing your book, thanks to the wonderful illustrations.

Even though you have not been a part of the Bitcointalk community, you need not prove your enthusiasm or dedication to Bitcoin. You can ignore anyone who says otherwise. Seniority is nothing but a ego thing.

Good luck with marketing to new readers! I am sure this forum is a good place to look for them! Perhaps you might find more fans if you reach out and become more active in the community. Especially in the newbie section.

Thank you very much!  Smiley

Yes, I was not aware of the somewhat "tiered-authority" system...If I knew that, I probably would have approached my first post on this forum differently.

Thank you - I agree! Pre-order sales have been great thus far, and I hope people on this forum find it interesting and a positive contribution to the space.

I am now realising and learning of the various sections on this forum and can admit that my post was maybe not best suited for this specific section.  Will keep that in mind for future posts  Smiley

Hey there, will try to read the sample you put up within this week if I manage to.

Did you know there is a recent release of a book called "Bitcoin: die orange Pille" (almost the same title like your book: "Bitcoin: the orange pill") from German author and book critic Ijoma Mangold. See: https://www.amazon.de/Die-orange-Pille-Warum-Bitcoin-ebook/dp/B09XY5ZRML
Are you from the US and were you aware of this very similar named book on Bitcoin?

In any case, welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the support re previous comment  Smiley

Yes, I have seen that book promoted on Twitter before - however, I am unsure on its exact contents or subjects covered.

My book title was not inspired by that book. I'd love to find an english translated copy of the book though

Greetings and congratulations on your first post on this forum.

This is a bit unusual for a bitcoin enthusiast since 2015. Haven't you heard anything about bitcointalk all this time and didn't you have a desire to look here? If these figures are accurate, then you have been addicted to cryptocurrencies since the age of 17?

Thank you for the kind feedback, I appreciate it  Smiley

Correct, I first bought Bitcoin in 2015 on Coinjar, when I was 17 years old and have been involved since then.
I have known about this forum since 2015, I just never felt compelled to join (mostly because I didn't feel like I had a lot to offer as a 17/18 year old). Then, as the Twitter Bitcoin community began growing - I found my place within the community there.

I like the title of your book, referring to the famous pills from "The Matrix" and the color of the BTC logo. Indeed, a very good analogy. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have spent any merit on you.Cheesy

Now closer to the point. How did you manage to find out these 250 stories about bitcoiners from around the world? I mean how did you know about it? Did you know them personally? It would be instructive to know a little about the history of writing your book.

So, to gather these Orange Pilled stories, I posted on Twitter in April asking people to submit their Orange Pill story via an online submission form & they would be rewarded 1,000 Sats for doing so. I did not mention it was directly for a book (I just said it was for an upcoming project), the reason for this was to keep the stories genuine and to avoid anyone submitting an exaggerated story because they knew it would be published in a book. Then, over the course of 3 weeks, I received 538 submissions. I then organised them into categories and constructed a collection of 250.

And I also found information about a giveaway with a prize fund of $3000. I don't know why you kept silent about it. I'll also add a picture from your website.

Glad you mentioned this! The reason I did not originally mention this in my post is because I knew if I just info dumped everything at once and was promoting something, encouraging purchasing, and then also mentioning giving away $3,000 - it would quickly be flagged as scammy or not genuine. So, I left out the giveaway, for somebody to find and mention and then I would discuss it (like now) haha.

Not much more to dive in for the giveaway as the image says it all - but yes, 3 people who pre-order my book will each win $1,000 USD (paid via LN). I personally give away Sats regularly on Twitter, and my business Mr. Satoshi also has a monthly 1.5m Sats giveaway + instant Sats back on all orders via LNURLw - so, the giveaway is very much legit and a common practice for me and my various projects.

Also worth mentioning is the payment method with bitcoin for your book. I'm sure this community will approve and appreciate it. It would be very strange if this payment option did not exist. Smiley

So, I wish you all the best and successful sales.

Exactly right - You can checkout via Bitcoin & the Lightning Network.

Thank you very much Smiley

It's kinda impudently to register there and promote your book right from the start without even trying to look like you're a part of the community.
I don't think it's an impudent. I find nothing wrong in some bringing up a book that's crypto-currency related for the community to see, infact I am eager to read the book and gain from it if there are things there for me to gain, I think his approach is very honest, he claimed ownership of the book, he would have easily said here is a book he is expecting and give us an intro to it and you won't be saying he was promoting his book.

Knowledge of Bitcoin and trying to help expose us to helpful stuffs like in this case his book should go beyond ranks, time on the forum or level so long as the OP sticks to the rules, my personal suggestions is for the op to read the rules and other helpful beginners post first.

OP is not only promoting his book he also shared his involvement with bitcoin. If you think bitcoin is limited to this forum only, you need to open your eyes and take a look to see how big bitcoin is now and it spreads far in the internet. You need to read the full post before replying to anyone.

Apologies if it came off that way - obviously not my intention at all.

Although this is my first time posting on this forum, I have been involved in Bitcoin since 2015 and I am heavily involved in the Bitcoin community on Twitter, podcasts, & IRL.

Additionally, my businesses are well regarded in the Bitcoin community as well and have partnered with other well-known Bitcoin companies (Swan Bitcoin, OPA, Pacific Bitcoin, etc).

I am most definitely not a stranger in the Bitcoin community, just a new member of this forum and which is why I felt comfortable sharing on here straight off the bat  Smiley

Don't worry about that. The only thing is, I'm not sure this is the right section for this thread. Maybe the goods one would be better but I think in general there people sell goods P2P and not through third parties. Anyway. welcome to the community and if you want to promote your work, stay on it and make positive contributions.

You also join in contributing your best qota to the bitcoin community and the world at large by bringing up a reading material that can help others learn and develope themselves in bitcoin, there are so many books, videos and articles already created by many online and in stores for purchase while some are free for downloads, i will advise you to keep it up, share as many as you can freely if you're capable, encourage for more adoption and continue the good works, i believe you will still have may to discover frombthe forum here about some aspects of bitcoin.
