P.S: what are you guys using for android wallet, because I'm done with Mycelium?

I'm glad that it's fixed.

And about wallet, my main wallet is on PC and it's Electrum. But on Android I do use Mycelium, since it's one of the few that works with hardware wallet.
So my advice is to put your coins onto a hardware wallet and then select your software wallet accordingly.

And for the record, this way of handling "accounts" is not unique for Mycelium, I've heard of this approach on other software too, my advice is to avoid as possible the use of multiple accounts if you want to avoid surprises. HD wallets do create as many addresses you want, hence the use of more accounts is usually not needed.

Honestly, I would generally recommend either Electrum (but do bear in mind that it is somewhat feature limited compared with the desktop version of Electrum, in my opinion it is more of a 'companion' app to the desktop version, than a fully-fledged version of the wallet)... or I would recommend Mycelium.

Mycelium, for all it's flaws (in-app advertising, syncing issues etc), is one of the more mature wallets... so it's generally fairly "solid"... but it is becoming harder and harder to recommend.

You might also want to look at Bitcoin Wallet for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet

But I guess we should ask, what are your specific requirements for a wallet? Huh Once we understand those, it'll be easier to make a recommendation.

I am glad that you managed to solve your problem. The most important thing in regard to your wallets or addresses is to have a recovery back up always stored somewhere safe, just in case.

Electrum wallet (https://electrum.org/#download) should be OK if you are just keeping Bitcoin. I have never faced any problems with it ever since I started using it.

I want to thank you all, every single one of you ho took the time to help me, this is a great community and I'm happy to be here.
I just clicked + and keep adding accounts until finally the one with the money shoed up.
For someone else ho might encore this problem in the future, I don't know for shore but I think it helps if you have multiple HD account in the wallet to not be active on the one that you are interested in when you add accounts to the new phone.

 Thank you all.

NeuroticFish i dont have the BIP39 mnemonic i only have the twelve words.

Thank you

You mean that you've selected 12 words from the combo box and it said that your words or checksum are incorrect?

Edit: if you can add the missing accounts, go on that route, it's safer.

Yes it shoed transactions that i did up to 2019 when i probably added new bitcoin Hd accounts, the balance is 0 but that is correct since the bitcoin that im looking for war not in that account, they are in the last account i created.
Ok, that is looking very positive then! Wink Smiley

So, all you should need to do is add 2 more accounts and you should see your coins and balance Wink

NOTE: You might need to wait a minute or two before Mycelium will let you add the 3rd account after you have added the 2nd account, because it might need time to "sync" the 2nd account and realise that it has be "used", before it'll let you add the 3rd account.

So, add the 2nd account... wait until you can see transactions in the "transactions" tab for the 2nd account, then try adding the 3rd account.

I'm looking at my phone in accounts it shoes Bitcoin HD(3) so all the accounts are Bitcoin HD , only the last one created has Bitcoin. I will have to wait for my wife to come back from work so i try what you seed on her phone where i tried to restore the wallet.
If you have "Bitcoin HD(3)", then you have added 3 HD accounts to your Mycelium wallet.

Mycelium doesn't automatically re-add accounts when you restore you wallet... you have to do it manually. I would say chances are good that once you add the accounts to the restored wallet on your wife's phone, you'll see your coins Wink

When you restored the wallet to your wife's phone... did it show any transactions on the "Transactions" tab? even if the account balance was displayed as zero? Huh

If it didn't, then it's likely that #1 or #2 above are the issue. Undecided

If the coins were not in the "first" account, then just click the "key/+" icon and add "Bitcoin HD" accounts until either the coins show up, or Mycelium tells you that "you can only have one unused account".

If you haven't found the coins when you get this error message, then either:

1. Your coins were not in a Bitcoin HD account created from the 12 word seed you have used

or

2. You originally used a BIP39 passphrase when you created your Mycelium wallet and you haven't used the same/correct BIP39 passphrase when restoring your wallet this time

or

3. Your coins were not in a Bitcoin HD account, but were in another type of account and are not backed up by the 12 word seed.

On the top right of the app it is a key and a +, i used that and then add new HD Bitcoin account. From what i remember they not give me new private keys for the new accounts i added
this way, or maybe they did and i don't remember.
In the same menu is stated this "All created Bitcoin HD Accounts and Ethereum Accounts are based on the same Master Seed.  Info: All created Bitcoin HD Accounts and Ethereum Accounts are derived from your Master Seed-if you keep your 12-words-Backup secure, you can restore all your Bitcoin Hd Accounts and Ethereum Accounts with it."
I used my 12-words on my wife phone but only restored Account 1 ( i suppose the initial account that was made) i have 3 more HD accounts on my phone but only one has bitcoin and those are not restored.

Thank you for the replay.

Interesting info. Since I've never used the default wallet, it doesn't allow me create HD wallets from +.

Still, if they say that all the accounts are derived from the same seed, I'll assume that they just use different derivation paths there, hence there's 2 directions you could try:
1. Try to add a few more accounts to your wife's phone if Mycelium allows it. Maybe you'll receive the ones you're missing.
2. if you have a safe* laptop at hand: get the code of IanColeman website, run it offline, put the seed there play with the BIP value to get the first character of the address right, then play with the numbers from Account (maybe also External/Internal), maybe you find the address that hold your coins. And there's also the private key for it.

However, it's assumptions over assumptions, more like a shoot in the dark, still, it's not difficult to try. Good luck!
If this doesn't yield any result, sorry, you may be restoring from a wrong / old seed.

Edit: you made a post in another thread on mycelium. That guy you're asking is inactive since 2019 and your post may get deleted for bumping too old posts. Just fyi...

and i kept adding accounts to it

Mycelium is backing up only its own HD wallet.
Did you add the other wallets to it by private key? Then where are those private keys, didn't you store them for safe keeping?

About physically accessing the files you need, I am 99% sure you would need the phone to be rooted... Sad  [but I leave this to those more experienced with phones' internals]

Hi,

I have a similar problem as described in this post here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.51495973 .
I have a mycelium android wallet but not used for like 2 years  and i kept adding accounts to it. Today i went to the atm to withdraw some bitcoin only to realize that my pin is incorrect.
I tried to restore wallet with the backup seed phrase on my wife phone but only one account was restored and not the one with bitcoin in it. I already entered the pin 2 times wrong im afraid to try again, i don't know haw many times you can enter it until they luck up the application.
I read the other threads on this subject and im trying to recreate Bob123 post " Since you still have full access to the device, you can enable USB-debugging in the settings, then connect to your mobile with your PC (via adb shell) and backup any necessary data (in this case: all data from mycelium).

Afterwards you should even be able to extract the mycelium pin from the backup on your computer.
The pin can be found in:
Code:
/data/data/com.mycelium.wallet/shared_prefs/settings.xml

You also should be able to extact the master key itself, which is stored in a sqlite database.

That's a bit more complex than simply rooting the phone and reading it out, but you can try this first without rooting your phone.
And you will have a backup of all necessary files in case you do something wrong when rooting your mobile." but I'm stuck.

The phone is a Hawaii P20 light not rooted, i managed to pull com.mycelium.wallet but i don't know what to do next, haw to open it or if it the pin is in that file.

I'm no programmer, i don't know what command to enter next, i just fallowed you tube videos and what i could find on the internet.

I'm not rich, the address has around 1.500$ in BTC . I Dm Bob123 but he has not been on this site for the last 10 days the site shoes.

Any help will be deeply appreciated, thank you

here is where Im now :
