Invest in both Bitcoin and Altcoins, make sure that you invest in Bitcoin more than altcoin in percentage because Bitcoin is more reliable long term, altcoins are very risky and you can lose money, but you can't lose money with Bitcoin unless you decide to sell when the present value on the market is not good enough.

Control yourself OP when you're feeling greedy. You're just starting out and you'll know yourself better when you're already there.
But the best to start with is always bitcoin. Check the altcoins out when you think you've got sufficient bitcoin holdings. I started with bitcoin and later on learned some altcoins but still, nothing has changed because I sold too early and missed the greater profits. But other than that, still I'm in profit when I've made those.

I feel it is not just greed that is only the problem of op, I think he is confused and lack knowledge to know which is the best to start from. No other altcoins can be compared to bitcoin in everything.  A beginner who is planning to start investing in altcoins,  it is just as if pouring water into the basket. Bitcoin is very reliable and it is better beginners start with it,  I see investing in altcoins as playing gambling to try luck if it will work out or not.
Definitely you're right. People like OP is really confused on how they should start. They see people who have been doing well with altcoins and that's where the idea that if it's going good with the others, he thinks that it will also be awesome for him.
But that's not how it goes and it's hard to be on the same position because not every choice and investment that we do are going to have the same impact and result. He has to look at that part for him to check where he's really comfortable and good at. But without a doubt, to invest in bitcoin is the best start.

The best digital currency for a newbie is Bitcoin, it takes no time to understand what bitcoin is all about, but in the case of altcoins, there are too many things to be cautious about, there are a few things you need to learn about altcoins, they are too risky but more profitable when it comes to return of investment, do not be fooled by the profits you can make from altcoins, because you can also make a huge loss too.

Bitcoin will bring ease to your mind compared to altcoins and I can assure you that Bitcoin will bring you returns on the long run, as for altcoins it's probably, they can die on you any time, so I can't assure you on that.

Op it's better to do your own research in order to know more about Bitcoin and altcoins but most user here in forum if you shared to them what are the best for investment then for sure bitcoins will be the choice cause we all know that Bitcoins is the king of crypto and trusted enough. While investing in altcoins which is very risky because some altcoins are only in the beginning. And in the end it will make you lost.

Personally i would say bitcoin, altcoins are too variable, risky
You have a very good choice, but in my experience, you have to know how to trade before you gain much from Bitcoin unless the halving periods. The trading will afford you the opportunity of earning from both bearish and bullish moments in spots and futures trading. The price of Bitcoin is already large, holding during a normal time would only amount to little or no gain.

On the contrary, altcoins are many, one can select a good one with a low price that might outshine Bitcoin to give profits in multiples, even in holding.

As a newbie in crypto that wants to join his friend in investing in crypto. I would advise you to start by diversifying your investment in bitcoin and 20 top altcoins (80% bitcoin and 20% altcoin). Keep in mind that crypto investment is not a get-rich scheme. You invest with the amount you can afford to lose. Don't invest if you don't understand how the volatile market works. But if you are ready to take that risk, lucky you as you invest and hodl patiently.

I'm confused, should I invest in bitcoin or other coins? In my friend's opinion, he suggested investing in bitcoin. But what do you think, is it better to invest in bitcoin or other coins?
Because your friend invited you and advised you to invest in Bitcoin, it means that Bitcoin is the best and safest option for you.

There is a significant risk associated with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency investment; some altcoins are excellent and have a promising future that can be relied on, but they all rely on Bitcoin. Bitcoin price movement determines the movement of other coins (altcoins), which simply means that they all rely on Bitcoin, whereas Bitcoin is self-contained.

You can do more research on it before investing so that you don't end up regretting your decision.

Hi, I'm newbie in this forum.
I recently found out about bitcoin from my friend. Then I am interested in investing. But after I found out, that coins are not just bitcoin but there are also coins (altcoins).
Hi there, welcome.
I hope that you can have enough time to learn more about cryptocurrency.
Yeah, cryptocurrency is not only Bitcoin but also these altcoins. And you can find thousands of altcoins in the market. I am sure that you will be probably confused about those lots of altcoins to choose. But, don't take it hard.

I'm confused, should I invest in bitcoin or other coins? In my friend's opinion, he suggested investing in bitcoin. But what do you think, is it better to invest in bitcoin or other coins?
Because you are new in crypto investment, I do really agree with your friend, investing in Bitcoin is the best thing to do for you.
There are some reasons why should be Bitcoin. Besides this is the first crypto that of course has a best value and market cap than altcoins, we also have to know the cycle of Bitcoin. This era is in the bearish era which the market is still under the price. That is why this era is a good time for you to buy Bitcoin in a low price and then hold the coins until at least the next bullish era, it will be probably around 2024-2025 or more. You can watch the market to analyze the time.

Investing in Bitcoin is risky, but I think that it is a higher risk to invest in altcoins. What you need is to get your fund and risk management. You may see some days later, the price of Bitcoin may be changing to be crashed or rising up, don't panic because it is very normal. the price of Bitcoin is very volatile which is why you must be patient when investing in Bitcoin especially. You need to wait for it to reach the next bullish era at least to take profits. This will be worthier.

yes, maybe I should learn more about bitcoin and altcoins first. I'm also worried that I will be too greedy and end up investing and end up losing.
It is a good decision. Do deep learning or further learning about Bitcoin and altcoins first if you are still not really sure about them. No need to hurry to invest in Bitcoin or altcoins, learning should be your priority since your are a beginner. When you think you are quite confident and already get sufficient knowledge about Bitcoin/Altcoins, you can make your own decision whether to invest in Bitcoin or altcoins (or invest in both).

However, it is true that investing in Bitcoin is truly safer than investing in altcoins. You must ever heard that people call Bitcoin is the king of crypto, that's because Bitcoin is like the gold in crypto or main crypto coin. And you must realize that BTC is always in number 1 on CMC although altcoins often changes their positions. That's pretty clear that BTC is much stronger than others, and it potentiually survive more than others.

For investment in Cryptocurrency I think the best option and safe option will be the founder of crypto name Bitcoin, I am not against any altcoins but after huge ancident of alts coin like Terra Luna and FTT it hurt the investor trust , now people feel uncomfortable for investment in any alt coin because any coin can make scam any time rather the Bitcoin. I know it's not easy for everyone to afford the entire Bitcoin due to high price but trust me it will safer for your saving, you can buy half or half quarter of Bitcoin, it's upto you.
The case of FTT and Luna is the dark history of the top altcoins that have ever happened and maybe it will not be the last altcoin that will end badly, there is a possibility that many other altcoins will follow in the footsteps of the coins in the future, so be careful when deciding to invest in altcoins and it is better to invest completely BTC for the long term, even if you choose some altcoin investments, you should analyze more thoroughly and check the progress of the project every time to avoid the possibility that the project may crash at any time.

I will Prefer you invest in Bitcoin because Bitcoin is not like other coins, for years now Bitcoin has been the standout among other coins, so investing in bitcoin will bring you a lot of profits and peace that your investment will not just fail. All those altcoins cannot be trusted on like Bitcoin. But one thing you should know about investment in bitcoin is that it is all about patience. It is advisable that you invest and keep investing, but make sure you invest an amount you can lose.

If i were you i'd prolly not be confused and invest in Bitcoin straightaway, but that's because i know that Bitcoin has an actual utility and is quite different from most altcoins without any utility at all. Because Bitcoin has an actual utility it is sustainable for the long term, thus you can hold your coins for as long as you like, but with altcoins you have to be actively checking for when it is either going to pump or dump, you basically have to buy before it pumps, and sell before it dumps, that's the nature of altcoins and why it's somewhat like you're just gambling.

You only heard from your friend that you can invest in Bitcoin.  You cannot take such a big investment decision just by hearing from your friend. And you said that bitcoin can be invested in other coins as well. Listening to you, it seems that you are interested or encouraged to invest only after hearing the good aspects related to investment from your friend. But if you don't have enough knowledge about investing, you can face a lot of losses by investing. So don't get so excited to invest just by hearing from someone, take some time and get a good idea about the investment first. Then you decide to invest.  But the bottom line here is that you want to know whether it is better to invest in bitcoin or ALT coins I will always say investing in bitcoin is better. Because all other coins in the market are dependent on Bitcoin. And you get the confidence by investing in Bitcoin that all other coins don't. So I will tell you first enough understanding about investment then invest Bitcoin.

Bitcoin investment is safer than altcoin investment. But compared to Bitcoin, altcoins can generate gains more quickly. Due to the low value of altcoin, excellent quality is quickly pumped up, and even with a tiny investment, it is possible to make significant profits from this swiftly. However, there is also a big danger because it is very challenging to determine which altcoin is the most likely coin because there are so many on the market. With altcoins, it's simple to lose value and even go extinct, but that's not the case with bitcoin.

In my opinion I believe bitcoin investment is the best investment but in crypto you should not just invest in a coin just because you are yold to do so no matter assurance you are given. Instead you should do your research and decide on the best coin to invest.

you need to make your plan beforehand. Do you want to invest for the long term. or are you going to invest for the short and medium term. Or maybe you want to plan everything.

I personally only invest in bitcoin if it is for the long term. while I only buy altcoins to be used as short and medium term investments

You also need to know that altcoins have a higher risk than bitcoin. this is what makes bitcoin the only one I choose for the long term. But you also need to know that altcoins sometimes have a high potential for increase. it's just that you shouldn't be careless in investing in altcoins.

high upside potential will only occur in well-developed altcoins such as Ethereum, BNB and top altcoins. The altcoin will have more potential. But for new altcoins it's still not visible, but some I see are able to experience significant increases such as APTOS which was hype and became a trending topic because of the extraordinary increase and became a new network in crypto. it is not easy to find similar altcoin projects that will have good potential, it is necessary to do detailed research on each project to be involved. At the moment bitcoin is indeed the best for the long term, no one doubts it. Even the current bitcoin price is still quite cheap before reaching ATH $100k. Investment in bitcoin is the main investment and altcoins are optional investments that you can choose or not.

The simple answer is Yes. But it took a lot of learning and guidance before it got to where I am now. The fact is not everyone is willing to sacrifice their time and money, especially if they don't get instant gratification.
bitcoin is the best choice in investing especially in the long term, but that does not mean some altcoins are not good either. It all depends on your own beliefs and analysis, and for sure bitcoin is the best among other cryptos and also the safest and also very profitable in the long term as long as you believe and have strong patience to make good profits.

Bitcoin is a more reliable coin, so the risk of losing your money will be much lower than when investing in altcoins. This is the recommendation that beginners should adhere to, since they cannot independently conduct research and choose several of such a huge number of altcoins. When you acquire the necessary knowledge and experience, you will be able to independently choose an object for investing in altcoins, which may bring you more profit than when investing in BTC.

Investing in bitcoin is more reliable that altcoin, most altcoin don't have the foundation bitcoin already has and might not stand the test of time unlike bitcoin that has stood and still standing the test of time,

Tho investing in altcoin is risky and might also prove to be a smart one because the increase value of the altcoin might just be around the corner,
Altcoin are good to invest in just invest and forget you invested, but I will always invest in bitcoin anyday and anytime over altcoin. Bitcoin is more reliable and safer than altcoin so investing in it won't really be a big risk, the only risk you thinking about is the rise and fall in value compared to some altcoin who might just loose its entire value.

In terms of safety, it can be said that bitcoin is the safest on the market, so it can be said that bitcoin is the first choice.

It sounds like you are still very new, and you only heard about the market from your friend, so I advise you to arm yourself with knowledge before investing in anything, even if it is not cryptocurrencies. Knowledge is power, the only key to success. Bitcoin is considered the safest, best investment, but if you do not have the knowledge and invest it blindly, you will still lose. No one succeeds in any field without knowledge of that field.

it would be better to invest in bitcoin but I think you should learn more about bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general before investing in anything. I am pretty sure once you learned enough that you'd most likely share your friend's opinion as to why he recommended that you invest in bitcoin. you might even realize that some altcoins are worth investing in.

Investing with bitcoin will be safer than investing with altcoins because so far bitcoin is the only Cryptocurrency that investors are most interested in on the market among thousands of other coins and so far bitcoin has proven to be able to survive in any situation, thus making many people believe that bitcoin is very good to invest especially for the long term, but sometimes some of the top altcoins like ETH, BNB and LTC in my opinion are also worthy of being used as an alternative but if investing with altcoins make sure don't buy shitcoins just focus on coins that already have strong fundamentals.

I'd suggest you invest in bitcoin than any other coins because you will just throw your money if you put it on altcoins. If you want to invest in altcoins don't put too much on it since it is very risky and you don't know if the altcoin can survive the market.
Confused about which one better for investing between Bitcoin or altcoin? I think spent with your portfolio for both where spent 50% for Bitcoin and left from your saving invest in Altcoin. Its seems good ideas because you can take profit with altcoin or bitcoin investment but keep waiting for investing when price drop.

For altcoin maybe I can recommended with Litecoin, Binance coin and Ethereum, another altcoin are potential but I don't really recommended due high risk later when price going dump.
I think you should increase it to 75% for bitcoin and the 25% left is for altcoins what you think is best but I like your recommended altcoin like Litecoin, Binance and ethereum.

Do your own research before buying those coins!

Hello welcome.
You're confused? You're a newbie? I have one suggestion to you.

Instead of making yourself confused into which coin you wanna invest your money with, maybe it would be better if you will invest in yourself first. Try to learn first at least the basics and don't be like the 95% of the investors out there who are just throwing their money, wanted to invest hoping that their money will grow without doing nothing and not knowing the risks of it. You're a newbie so the risk of you getting scammed is higher. Try to learn first at least.
You should not invest in either one.

I do not understand what you mean here. We should not invest in any, as in we should not buy any and hold?
What he means is that "you should not invest in either one because you don't know anything about it".

Like I said above, learning is the first step in investment. Buy and hold? Without knowing the possible risks at all? I agree with what he said here that OP shouldn't invest in either one because he doesn't know either one of them. Don't tell a newcomer to just buy and hold without any knowledge at all or else, he might lose his money because of wrong decisions.

thanks for the advice you guys gave. and yes, maybe I should learn more about bitcoin and altcoins first. I'm also worried that I will be too greedy and end up investing and end up losing.

I have no problem with altcoins but Bitcoin is much a safer bet for newbies that's why your friend told you to go for Bitcoin instead, altcoins have higher ROI than Bitcoin but more risky, you can easily lose a lot of money investing on altcoins, you can also make a ton of money investing on altcoins so thread carefully friend, stick with Bitcoin for now and look into why altcoins make sense or not, some altcoins are so damn good and useful like Polkadot but you need to learn more about what you are getting into.

I think you have to do your own research by continuing to learn and of course asking lots of people who know about crypto, and joining you in this forum is a good decision.
in my opinion, choose bitcoin, if you already know the knowledge, then you can try investing in it
altcoins, but in my opinion investing in altcoins is indeed a high risk.
so even if you invest in altcoins, don't invest all your money in altcoins, the most you can invest for altcoins is just a small part, yes, around 25%.

Bitcoin is just one but altcoins are several other coins. It shows how strong bitcoin can be in terms of investment assurance. Your friend is right for you to invest in bitcoin as a starter. Maybe later on after you have navigated the industry you can then begin to make a different choice based on the knowledge of investment you have acquired. But for now you should stick to bitcoin alone.

You should not invest in either one.

I do not understand what you mean here. We should not invest in any, as in we should not buy any and hold?

Not directly telling you to invest in Bitcoin but some aspects that Bitcoin is way better than altcoins is because

-widely use of Bitcoin by huge service companies
-can survive a bear market - while many altcoins die(value and the market cap goes to zero) during bear season, Bitcoin has proven and is likely to survive another bear market as seen in the past.
-highly unlikely to go zero - unlike bitcoin you're still unsure even if an altcoin reaches the top10 list because it's still possible to reach a zero value (LUNA as example)

The only advantage of altcoin is its value may go up to 10000% unlike Bitcoin where it's starting to stabilize because more and more people are into it. But that would be a gamble because you're more likely to get scammed than picking an altcoin that will have that value since you're picking from 1/10000 altcoins.

Hi, I'm newbie in this forum.
I recently found out about bitcoin from my friend. Then I am interested in investing. But after I found out, that coins are not just bitcoin but there are also coins (altcoins).

I'm confused, should I invest in bitcoin or other coins? In my friend's opinion, he suggested investing in bitcoin. But what do you think, is it better to invest in bitcoin or other coins?
There's a difference in Bitcoin and altcoins. Bitcoin has less volatility compare to Altcoins. So in terms of risks, altcoins has the higher risk. You should invest only in Bitcoin if you are very scared of losing money. In Alts, it's very dangerous to invest in a coin without checking their site because there are so many scam coins. However, Altcoins are highly rewarding than Bitcoin, it can multiply your money in a short time.

If you want to invest some in Altcoins, I suggest you to invest in top 10 alts in coinmarketcap, such as:

1. Eth
2. Bnb
3. Xrp
4. ADA
5. Doge
6 Matic (and more)

You should not invest in either one. You should use bitcoin which is the only decentralized currency in existence and only trade altcoins if you can afford taking huge risks in a manipulated market since altcoins have no real world applications.

Altcoin is risky investment compared to bitcoin. Don't go for altcoin if you have a tight budget for investing on crypto, go for bitcoin and hold it for a long time.
Keep an eye on the market if you want to participate in altcoins later and do your own research about the coins you want to invest.
Your friend is right about suggesting you to invest in bitcoin.

I'm confused, should I invest in bitcoin or other coins?

In my experience the number of altcoins that worth it on long and very long term is almost 0 (compared to bitcoin!).
Also, especially as you are newbie and bitcoin is also not easy to master, I think that you better start with bitcoin alone and, in some 2-4 years you can maybe think on altcoins this the gathered experience.
With Bitcoin too you have to pay attention where you buy the coins from and how you keep them safely (if you are not technically inclined, then investing into a hardware wallet should be one early step).

Keep in mind that you should not invest money you don't afford to lose.

Bitcoin is the best investment than altcoins which often fall a lot and don't return to their original price, your friend's opinion is right to recommend to a beginner.

You have to understand and learn that investing in crypto is a high risk, so you have to be prepared to take your own responsibility if you experience a loss at an inappropriate time, meaning that investing in bitcoin must be long-term to achieve greater profits.
Or maybe you can do both by dividing what percentage you will invest between bitcoin and altcoins, look for higher potential altcoins by having large capitalists I think it will be better than new altcoins.

But in my principle Bitcoin is much better than altcoins to invest in.

Welcome to the community actually those are both good investment but take care with the altcoins you are trying to invest with because those are centralized and just followers with the bitcoin price movement, for sure other members will told you the bitcoin is the safe thing to invest well that's true but due to tons of investor with the bitcoin I guess still a safe investment but the price of profit well depends on the bitcoin do you hold, so quite not too much profitable but as a part of the safe, but in altcoins you can get an instant profit due to price movement or having a good project like early reason to have a good profit, not all altcoins give this chance.

Investing in Bitcoin is safer than Altcoins. But altcoins are able to give faster profits than Bitcoin, on the other hand, since Bitcoin is a valuable coin, it is not possible for everyone to buy a whole Bitcoin, so it is not possible to make high-quality profits quickly from here. however, since the value of altcoin is low, it quickly pumps up high quality and even with a small amount of investment, it is possible to get big profits quickly from here. But also there is high risk because there are huge amount of altcoins in the market so it is very difficult to predict which one is the most likely coin.  And altcoins have a long history of being scams.  So investing in altcoins can unfortunately result in you losing your entire investment.  Which is almost impossible with Bitcoin

it all depends on your abilities. if you have a sizable amount to invest, you can go in to invest in a large number of Bitcoins and some of the market potential altcoins.
but if you plan to invest in stages, it means that maybe you have limited investment capital for each certain period. I suggest just focusing on collecting more Bitcoins in the long term. with little by little, you accumulate Bitcoin, you will not realize that you have accumulated quite a lot in the long run. and you can enjoy it when your target is reached.

The main choice in terms of investing, it is very popular to invest in Bitcoin, but in Altcoins you can also do by paying attention to Altcoins with good popularity, you can also invest in both, split between 70% and 30%, 70% for Bitcoin and the rest for Altcoins.
The main advice is, of course, it is more appropriate to fully invest in Bitcoin, and pay attention to Bitcoin Charts. There are great opportunities to invest, but if you want to have several Crypto Assets, you can choose to invest in Altcoins most of your funds.

currently our choice apart from Bitcoin, we prefer Ethereum and bnb from some good Top Altcoins, maybe you can follow these tips if you want to invest in both Crypto categories, and use a percentage between 70-30 %, Bitcoin is a large percentage, and save the rest to Altcoin.

Invest in both, you can invest 70% on bitcoin while the remaining 30% on altcoins, consider altcoins to be gambling, make more research and find yourself good coins to invest. But do not be disappointed of you see the altcoin you invested on not to have expected result, or it may increase more. No one truly get only one crypto, but you can invest most on the dominate one which is bitcoin.

I share your friends opinion; Bitcoin is a much better investment than the most decent bunch of altcoins (which is barely a handful).
Over 95% of coins out there are shitty rehashes of the exact same idea, with no real world value or utility. Not worth a penny.
Do not take I or your friend's word for it, do your own research on Bitcoin; utilities and qualities that sets it apart from the other coins.
