Dem say experience na always the best teacher and I dey sure say with the experience wey you don get you no go try to do that stupid thing again. Sometimes the urge to make or find money fit make you lose your small change for hand and for me I don learn from people stories na make I xey avoid anything wey the promise looks too big to be true.
Sometimes we no really need to experience something before we go fit learn from am, if you check some kind story very well or investment plan, person way they on their normal sense way no allow greed take over am suppose notice say some kind offer too appear good to come be true, which when person see that kind offer even if you never get experience of scam before the person suppose just use him 99 know say that one go only lead to lose money and instead of am to risk am the best way nah to japa.

It's always a big mistake to learn often from our mistakes. We should try to learn from others mistakes. This type of scam has been existing for long, and alot have been scammed through it. But most time people don't learn from people who are being trapped by such scam. They are just over carried away by the impossible promised returns. They still join this scheme and later got scammed. I don't know when Nigerians will learn and be wise.

My privacy, my right.
Greetings my fellow Naija people.

I don't know why some people are still falling into the traps of those people that will call you for phone or meet you one on one and introduce fake decentralized investment, that if you invest #100,000 you will get #200,000 within a week. Someone came to share with me that there is a BTC investment one of his neighbor introduced to him, that when he invest on it through him , my friend will get double profit from it but the minimum anyone can start with is #500,000 above, that the numbers of people they want in that BTC investment is almost complete, that he came to seek advice from me if such decentralized investment is real. But I told my friend to run alway from them, that those guys are scammers and they don't have any knowledge about BTC investment. Did I give him a good advice ? What is your advice to such person.
You see in this life aside from greed being in an ignorant position is the worst position any man could find himself. Your friend try use him head despite how him no get BTC knowledge him still sa make him ask person like you wey know the way. All this scammers prey on our ignorance, na make wen we get some of this unfamiliar calls about unsolicited business and investments, make we dey calm down get patient ask persons wey dey around us, no rush am, better thing them no the rush person to do am.

The problem is that humans must times don't scrutinize a system before investing in it, nothing comes easily, anyone that make you to believe that once you invest small you will get big in short period of time is deceiving you, there is no short cut to wealth, so no matter what we do we should understand investment before involving ourselves properly, thats why many people fell into the trap of mmm, people like money doubling and it is a problem, thats why in bitcoin investment profit is only meant for long term holdlers, and it is not guaranteed that you will profit in a short term because of the market behaviour, lets becareful in things that we invest our money into so as to avoid being scammed.

That's funny sha, people will always fall for this scams because we have a lot of people that's always ready to do those things just to gain money. The ones I have seen is some from a give away, some contact will post give away like send 5k to get 10k and send 20k to get 40k, send 50k to get 100k, meanwhile if you send any money it will be gone and they will block you. Some times they post fake transactions so that people will think it's legit then make payments. Anyway those scams are cheap scams so anyone's who fall into such scam is also cheap in thinking fast.

Some people fall victim probably due to ignorance but the major reason why people fall victim to such scam is greed, they get tempted by the return not knowing that no one has any free money to give. Any investment that promises 100% profit or profit that sounds to good to be true is a scam investment, they are just trying to get people’s money so they can run away with it.

E de surprise me how people still de fall for these kind things but i guess some people still de ignorant of plenty things for this life and if you never come across these kind scam before or if you no sabi person wey don fall victim before e go hard make you sef no believe am since huge money de involved. For me if person contact me telling me to invest in their platform i de always feel discouraged already and na red flag for me, if na true why you sef no invest your own money like 5 times and earn money for yourself and become rich. OP na good advice you give so anything that sounds too good to be true and promises high profits is most likely a scam and they should be avoided.

What is too good to be good may not be good. I don't see this as lack of employment. What we are suffering from in Nigeria is underemployment and not unemployment. I see people doing this out of being greedy and laziness. How do you expect to reap from where you haven't sow. Most of this investment promise good return and this is what attract most people. Why can't we cultivate the habit of using our money to invest in a business we know much about. How I wish people can learn from other peoples' mistakes.

What is your advice to such person.
Decentralized? One thing is to use words and another thing is to understand what that word actually mean in the context in which they are being used.

That would have been the first step to understanding that there is more to wat your being presented with. Decentralisation is something without an individual or authority at the apex of its control, one that has no chain trend of benefits on referrers.

The closest means to tracking these scams is by knowing what ponzi schemes actually is. It has some definite attributes to its and that is,
* high returns within a short time frame
* they prioritise in referrers
* your paid with money from your downlines and more

It's best you keep your funds and invest in some other positive investments.

Underestimate- nothing
Na pure greed dey cause am, nothing else.
Greedy carry everything, but most people dat fall on the traps are the kind of lazy people who don't want to work hard to get money. Dos people dey look after successful people and like to imagine dem self to be like dem which dey did not view their past and see how they make. It take someone time before making it in life, like ten years, some like five years, some like one year or some few months all this depends on each one destiny. People falling for dis are educated once, almost 95%of them are educated and the reason for all that come from the school mentality of the school that after school the will get a white-collar job which they will continue waiting for and you know human beings have to survive that why they are all involved.

Normally people are greedy and everyone is just trying to press the available buttons to see which one brings luck and some are lazy, I know of people who are always trying new things out to see if they will get anything out of every opportunity since we are all trying to survive, and now the principle of working hard is gradually changing and now is working smart, and finally, the best we can do is to avoid offers like that, its always a scam and people keep fallen victim since everyone is desperate to get rich, educational status does no guarantee you escaping scam.

Yeah, you did a very good job, man. You even saved his life from scammers. Just imagine someone getting scammed 500K. The way the country is now, the person will definitely feel bad if care is not even taken. He will fall sick. And you are right by telling him those guys did not have any knowledge about bitcoin investment, because someone who has the basic knowledge of how bitcoin investment works won't go and meet someone and tell them that there is bitcoin investment and the amount is 500K.It looks funny, but we know that we can do with even the smallest amount of money we have. I don't know where they see that one of 500K

What advice can you give to such person.

There is nothing more to say because you are close to him and have informed him what has to be done, so it is now up to him to decide what to do. However, in my opinion, it will be a good thing because others are approaching him to inform him of a bitcoin investment. It would be great if you could offer him some pointers on how bitcoin investment works and the risks associated so that if he really wants to invest, he can do so without relying on another person or providing his assets to someone else to manage. Because if the market crashes, the individual who collects the money will be held responsible.

Hi dear, we are looking for workers. You can work from home and earn 50,000 Naira per day.
now if I am not well inform from this forum, I would have also been a victim. The only solution to this social vices is employment and not even empowerment. I see youth empowerment as a deception to the youths in the country. Government has provided a lot youth empowerment in every year yet the poverty rate is growing higher that means, there is something wrong. So we have to stop youth empowerment to youth employment. Government is only spend money in the areas that they can embezzle money and youth empowerment is one of the place embezzlement takes place.

Now I no the meaning of O.P, and I still learn many abbreviations in that Link bro. Sometimes is good to humble yourself to ask questions concerning something you don't so that when you grow old you will have something meaningful to tell your children.
Lolz. It's a pleasure mate, because as senior members of this forum, it is our duty to help beginners like you, and I'm happy you did actually learn something new today.

Me, I see this things why people still dey fall because there is no job in the country. Since there is no job, the jobless is trying all means to work, and earn money so they normally fall for those traps. Those who have job and be contented with their jobs never fall for it. And if anyone has job and still fall for it then he or she is greedy to the core.
Yes, that's the exact truth behind all these Ponzi scheme participation in the country, because as long as the employment rate still remains low, people will continue falling victim to this kind of scam, because just of recently a friend of mine just chatted me up telling me that if I'm interested in making money online, he will like to introduce me to a platform that is currently paying, of which after we chatted further I got to realize it's another new Ponzi scheme in town that promise to pay a certain percentage each day, of which I told him to trade with caution as those people are likely crash very soon.

But you can see the chat and name of new Ponzi that you should stay away from or trade with caution below here...

It's good you asked this question simply because you were finding it difficult to comprehend what O.P actually meant, so in regards to this, O.P simply means "Original Poster", which also refers to the person who create a thread or topic of discussion, because if you vividly look by the right hand side of your forum name you will see the O.P sign written with your name simply because you are the one that created this thread, but if you check on other thread you didn't create, you will notice it will not appear by the side of your name.

What happened recently on CC scam app. People were calling me to register for them, and told them that it was a scam, yet people still register and the end was terrible.

I like to treat everyone as a friend 🔹
OP you saved your friend from such a scam really commendable of you. But I think that if a person made such a promise, we would definitely look at him as a scammer. If a person invests #100,000 in the first week it is never possible to make a profit of #200,000 in the second week. It is not possible to get 100% profit in such a short period of time and if any person makes such a promise then he will surely scam you. There is no way to get such quick profit in a very short period of time so investing requires good knowledge. There are many people who are victims of such scams so they need to gain full knowledge about it otherwise they will lose a huge amount of money in future. OP this is a really good thing you have done for your friend, maybe your friend will take your advice and point in some good direction now.

Aside ignorant, people are also very greedy and they are easily deceived by what they supposed to know that are not real but fake.
Assume you click that link they send to you at the moment, you will begin to see some strange things in your phone that will make you to lose your money and many things in your phone. I don't think it is only ignorant or greedy people that fall victims for all those scammers, because there are some scammers that will call you and the moment you pick their call you must do what they want you to do bro, may God never allow us to fall victims for such people in our environment.

Imagine if your neighbour no ask you naso dem for don scam him/her. On a more serious note, most times why people dey fall for scams na because of greed, de moment dem hear of any juicy business investment or offer dem no go use their brain reason, dem go just jump into it like that after com dey cry.

I got this last week ending, is it not foolish for anyone to believe in this kind of fake salary? Definitely it is obvious that scammers sent me the message and they are only wasting their time.

Aside ignorant, people are also very greedy and they are easily deceived by what they supposed to know that are not real but fake.

At times I keep on asking why em be sae our people d forget so easily of how money doubler investment don deal with people with their unrealistic promises since the time of MMM till now. I believe sae so many Nigerians don get experiences with this type of investment packages, and those wey never get, don hear stories about how this money doubler operates(them go promise people much return, in a short time them go disappear).

Em d pain me sae many people still d blind and delusional to this extent of believing sae an investment company go double their money within a short time if they invest hugely. Like sae those investment company d print money.

Anyway sha, you did well for saving your friend from the hands of these money doubler investment wey wan use bitcoin as a benchmark to scam your friend.

It is funny and laughable how people still fall for these scams and pyramid schemes in this modern-day developed world if not for the greed that pushes and makes them feel they would get rich quickly forgetting that scammers have them in mind to get hold of as a result of their greed.
As a result of their ignorance without proper research, they also fall victim. How on earth would someone tell me to invest such amount of money and get x10 of it in return within a short period men you gat me reasonably for once o. No be this current Naija person go just dey like that money they fly enter account like that o.
Human being dem get plenty type just because say u no fit fall no mean say other people dem wey get big long throat no go enta all this scammers dem trap. Human greed is what really brings lot of rich and already made people down, greed can make or blind your correct sense of reasoning till you have been successfully dupe. Many people actually fall because they think they have nothing to loose until the scammers eventually toil with their greedy nature and before you know they eventually fall victim.

No matter where the scam is coming from and the tactics the scammers are using, they are easy to know and avoid, but some people are ignorant and greedy about scam.

Na the whole truth be that my brother. The tricks wey these scammers dey use self don dey outdated. E just be like say you no buy or pay for any product and you come dey expect product lol, that one self mean say the person himself na scammer. Sometimes you go receive text messages from unknown number telling you to call back and claim price or something wey you win, you suppose know say that na whining but some people go still say make them try call whether na true dem dey talk. The simple truth be say if you no buy something make we no dey expect product.

I don't know why some people are still falling into the traps of those people that will call you for phone or meet you one on one and introduce fake decentralized investment, that if you invest #100,000 you will get #200,000 within a week.
Na pure greed dey cause am, nothing else. Nor be juju, at all. As long as people continue to get greedy, scammers will continue to thrive. A few years ago, somebody tell me sey she go like make I invest for her if the investment go fit return profit of 50% withing two weeks as I dey try talk her to buy Bitcoin and hodl. I tell am sey it was not doable, 50% was not achievable. She shockingly told me sey na dat type of investment she dey find. As for d advice wey you give your friend, na d right thing you do.

There are instances we discover seing some people making money in cryptocurrency despite we don't know how they come about arriving at such huge success but all we want is to have same opportunity and experience as theirs, things don't work that way sometimes, we need to make findings and know what are the requirements that backed up such outstanding result and begin to work our own towards towards same direction, it may take a little process and a little while for us to get there while the price is being paid and not that we expect everything boom all of a sudden.

Go after the goal... Go!!! It is worth getting!
Well, I think every reason behind that circles around greed; if not greed, then I really don't see any reason why someone should be told to invest $100k and receive $200k within just a week or two, and the person will just foolishly agree to it without asking questions. First, where should that sum of 100% profit that I would earn within a short period of time come from? The second question is, if you are giving me 100% profit in just a week, then what would be their own profit, or are they really making 200% profit in a week? That kind of big interest is even enough to give you a red flag that it is a scam. There is no aspect of earning money that is so easy to the extent of generating 100% in a week, but people sometimes sell their real sense for greedy interest in situations like that.

But I told my friend to run alway from them, that those guys are scammers and they don't have any knowledge about BTC investment. Did I give him a good advice ? What is your advice to such person.
The thing be say, victim to such scam still dey up till now, don't be surprised that millionaire will still fall victim to this scam tricks, yes, because lack of knowledge about cryptocurrency let people to this kind of thing. Normally, the young in Naija only know much about crypto investment and trading, it's quite unfortunate that our fathers would just put in money when they don't even know the difference between dex and cex exchange or investment platform, they may even withdraw out the funds in Fiat and send it to whoever referred them without even knowing how to purchase off P2P.

I wouldn't blame anybody because the life is all about trial and error, you can't be strong in this crypto space if you haven't been scammed in any way, so that makes you strong and experienced untill you learn out the good way about crypto investment.

It is greed that will make people fall for this scam. If not how will believe that you can get double of what you invested within one week. You just save someone from been scammed OP,I get sick when I see people who already know that it is a scam and they will purposely put in their money because they don't want to work but want to double their funds just like that. I have learned not to believe or seek for money in projects that I don't partake in to know how it is fund. So many tricks are out that these people come up with to catch their prey. Bitcoin investment is not bank investment that agents will be walking around looking for customers.

That is the money doublers platform of Ponzi scheme. This is an old method of scamming and they are bringing bit again. I don't think those who knows about it would fall for it again. I really fall for this guys on WhatsApp in that year. Chaii!!!

If you deposit that money in the account, that money is gone, you can't withdraw that cash again, that is when system upgrade and system maintenance everytime. What you told him is the best. Let him run away before he fall for them.

Bitcoin investment does not need third party. He can do it by himself, he can meet you and you teach him how to open wallet and buy bitcoin inside and hodle it for like five years. Then he will do well.

No matter how format cast reach, you go still dey see people dey fall for am, me I see say this scam pattern don too plenty already, plenty people don fall but scammers still dey use the format which means say people still dey fall. But na greediness dey kill us for dis country, how you go expect say your money go double for you within a week if you invest and you don’t even know about the investment, how person go just tell you make you send 100k come and one week e go turn 200k, and no be say you go work for d money or you go do anything, with d way money hard to get for dis country now, na him person go just double money for you without doing anything.

Did I give him a good advice ? What is your advice to such person.
Na better advice you give d person now, anybody wey sabi crypto well go give the person d same advice wey you give am. Crypto no be space where you go get easy  money, no be space wey u go talk say dem dey make free money, before you make money for crypto space, you go need work first ooo. So anybody wey dey claim say him dey give free money na just scam d person wan scam.

One thing about scammers is that they always try to find ways to get you to invest, and some people who want to make money quickly will fall victim. I remember what happened with mmm many people were paying the debt until today, and all of it was due to greed and nothing else people are becoming wiser now. I receive a lot of notifications on Telegram about Bitcoin investments, and they often start showing screenshots of how they have benefited from the investments, all na scam.

Omo.. Na pure red flag be that my guy, na so them dey operate, and so na so your friend for carry lose a whole #500k this kind tough time had it been he had such amount in his account? Omo, I'm happy you were there to advise him not to go ahead oh, because this just reminds me of what happened yesterday when I went to FCMB bank to go make small complain about small P.O.S withdrawal error wey dey been debit me and not credit the p.o.s agent, and right before me, an elderly man came to make complain about a debit he got when he didn't withdraw any fund, and later we got to understand that it was scammers who called him and told him is a lucky winner of 1miionn naira, that all he has to do is that in few minutes time a code will be sent to him, that they will call him back, he tells them the code so that they can use the code to activate the 1million naire into his account and he fell for it. And in few minutes time instead of him to receive a credit alert, he got a debit alert of all the funds he had in his account. So painful

So abeg, it seems your friend needs to be familiar with the recent update scammers use to scam people of their funds

Having the desirability to seek for financial source of income or make an investment in cryptocurrencies is not the bad or wrong decision to take, what we arrived at is what matters because not every cryptocurrency should have our interest being attracted to, many of us don't also know how to speculate, research and make accurate findings that we mistaken cryptocurrency for a ponzi scheme investment, therefore we should know the coin we are investing, research about it and have enough time to study and speculate such while holding.
You are very correct,  aside from the point already mentioned by the first comment that greed is the most factors that make people fall for scammers we also most have a basic understanding of the concept of crypto vs Ponzi scheme since there has been evidence of high number of crypto investments platforms that have swaddle victims all in the name of cryptocurrency investment and that have given the cryptocurrency industry a lot of bad names because many are now having the misconceptions that both Bitcoin and other coins are all Ponzi not knowing what it means to hold your bitcoin in your wallet with private keys as an investment.

Or giving your coins to another third party in the name of an investment platform that is 100% scam,  the most annoying part is the spread of fake Ponzi that promises investors up to 300% profits returns within the shortest time some time say 24 hours.

Don't joke with my Daughter
You really did well to have stopped your friends & neighbor from endangering their selves not to invest with such huge amount of money, at this hard time for someone to go waste about $700 to a fake site that won't even yield any meaningful profits to them.

What is mostly affecting our people is to become rich overnight without them thinking twice or having to know the sources of the site whether is a fake website or not, all they want is just for them to invest and get their profits in returns of 2 weeks or a months.

Come to think of it, which investment platform would give you 100 percent in returned without them stressing for the money, naturally I will like called it big eye or open eyes to have wanting to invest and receive such payback in return. Lemme join @Charles-Tim to say they are greedy to have wanting to invest 500k to receive 100% payback in few days or so.

People are greedy. That is what scammers are using to scam the novices.

100% investment profit in just a week is definitely a scam.
It is just very unfortunate that there will always be greedy people like this for scammers to work on. No matter how much the existence of this kind of scam is talked about, people will always fall victims whenever a new well packaged one is started because the people behind these scams know how to always make it enticing and not like the other one that just failed.

Funny enough, even well knowledgeable individuals can still fall victim depending on how organised and packaged the scammers make it to be.

I personally avoid any scheme that tell me to invest and get a ridiculous ROI in a very short timeframe, I also avoid any scheme that tells me to invest and bring two other people to invest under me.

Did I give him a good advice ? What is your advice to such person.
You actually did a good job O.P by saving your friend from falling victim to such heartless scammers, because that's how they go about using the name Bitcoin to scam innocent newbies, creating a bad image about Bitcoin, as who ever fall victim will start seeing anything bitcoin related as a scam, which is ought not to be that way. However, whoever that will fall victim to such scam must be a greedy person, because greed is the only reason why anyone will fall victim to such this 2023, after everything MMM & Twinkas did to us many years ago, because imagine a person asking you to invest #500,000 to get double in 1week, isn't common sense supposed to tell you that this is likely to be a scam. But some will allow greed blindfold there eyes and later after falling victim, blame their village people for it.

So let's not get tired to always be our brothers keeper, and eh for really make sense @ O.P if to say you been fit ask that your friend about the name of that website, so that other newbies here go fit see say they be scam and avoid them.

People are greedy. That is what scammers are using to scam the novices.

100% investment profit in just a week is definitely a scam. Some are through calls. The scammer can request you of OTP sent to you as sms, which they can use to scam you by taking over your account, like bank account to withdraw yorj money. I have received such calls before and most are OTP scam used to access your bank account. It is possible to use it to access crypto exchange accounts too, but all such calls that I have received before are related to naira scam.

There are some that are through text messages too.

The one that I noticed which is bitcoin or crypto scam are Whatsapp messages. I do not wait to report such messages which also result to complete blocking of such account for further annoying scam messages. The WhatsApp scam attempt messages from unknown people was common on my WhatsApp last year and beginning if this year. But they have nothing to receive from me because it is easy to spot them as scam.

No matter where the scam is coming from and the tactics the scammers are using, they are easy to know and avoid, but some people are ignorant and greedy about scam.

Bitcoin is an asset, you can hold it and wait for the price to appreciate and earn from it, instead of depending on people to hold for you which may result to scam. If you find out, the people they depend on for the HYIP investment are unknownn to them and no how to trace them.
