There are enough site's where people wager 1000's of bitcoins at 1% edge and don't get a bonus at all. With 0.9% house edge 1BTC is a big bonus for 500BTC wagered.

I think for someone who is already playing with that kinda coin would appreciate a guaranteed 1btc bonus (win or lose), and mod is just kinda showing appreciation. 500btc wager is not that much when you think about it.
