When living in the real world, socially, indeed we will be considered rich if we have real assets, which can be seen by others. The perception of rich and poor will actually differ depending on who is looking at it. However, it is undeniable that if we have many assets, other people will have different views of us. Maybe we actually don't want that status, but it is the people around us who lead opinions and views about it. We cannot deny the existence of this view if we are in such a social environment.

And, even if we invest in the crypto business, this is very different, especially since not everyone knows and understands about crypto. In fact, they might not think so. What's more, they sometimes suspect what business we are doing when we don't seem to do anything, but we have money.  Grin

In this case, that's why I think there is a need for asset diversification for investments, both real and digital investments like this.

It seems that you have experienced accusations from your neighbors, so you speak and have thoughts what I think, I also experienced what you mean by having real assets, so that people around your house do not have further thoughts, about your work as a crypto user, instead I tell them and teach them about digital assets, so as not to think anything of myself, even though it's difficult at least they know what I'm looking for in the crypto world, and have assets in crypto and income..

As time went on they just understood what I was doing in the crypto world, and got quite a large income from buying and selling crypto, and finally they too have until now, playing crypto to build their economy, at least I have helped them to make money or valuable assets, apart from real assets that there are also digital assets that others can't see, at least people who see me don't have any envy towards me..  Grin Cheesy Cheesy

Bitcoin is a virtual asset and can never be compared to real world assets. Bitcoin can never be compared to real world assets because virtual assets you can portfolio. From which you can understand the amount of wealth. But yes bitcoin must be considered an asset to some extent because if you are investing it will definitely come as an asset.

.because it was said that an asset is money in your pockets,so how does BTC relate to being a real asset, and what is a real asset and how do you invest for a real Assets.

Asset is money in your pocket? how shallow it is to define what an asset is.
Well, let me just expand the definition of it. Asset is something that you have that has a value. It also means something that you that has value and could make you possible profit. A money in your pocket is an asset yes, but it does not generate more money/profit by just letting it sit inside your pocket without using it to invest into something.

Let's just put it this way base on your own vocabulary.
Asset = something you owned that has value.
Real asset = something you owned that has value that can potentially make you more money/profit.

PS. Bitcoin is money btw.  Cheesy

Real asset is something that has enough value of money in the real world like real estate, gold, and even Bitcoin. Just look at the price of Bitcoin and compare it to the other things that has value then you can tell that it's an asset but at the same time it could be used as a currency. A currency that has a real value of fiat and of course, it all goes down to the demand and supply that's why things have values rising over the years.
Supply and demand play the most important role in an asset. If there's no demand then there will be useless supplies and you're just holding nothing out of it.
Just like in bitcoin, there's a demand and the supply is limited and that makes a perfect combination for this asset that we've been holding. While others aren't rushing, we're already in the rush to accumulate as many as we can before we can accumulate little with the expensive price that it has got. The world is having that change in the perspective of assets and it's not just all about tangible assets anymore.

While Going through the book Rich dad, poor dad my mind refrain back to this; INVESTING FOR A REAL ASSET

And it says a true luxury is a reward for investing in and developing a real asset.having read that I was contemplating and as well need clarification for this.If BTC is an asset.because it was said that an asset is money in your pockets,so how does BTC relate to being a real asset, and what is a real asset and how do you invest for a real Assets.
Apparently, the answer to your questions are all up to you. If you believe in bitcoin and see its potentials to be profitable in the long run, then obviously it a real asset. But if you have doubts and become hesitant on the potentials of bitcoin, then it won’t be a real asset to you. After all, assets are just there waiting to be discovered, it’s all up to you how you invest in it and show the right attitudes as an investor.
No one can really force you on what you should think off on a particular thing since its your money to be invested on the first place then it would really be depending on what are your impressions and views towards things.Real assets? Something that generate out income? If we do really talk about possibilities or probabilities then Bitcoin is qualified but as mentioned that it is really pertaining on someones impressions
and views.
Real deal on here is that we should really be trying out our best on accumulating assets as much as we could considering that these things could really give out that kind of financial
freedom that we've been hoping or seeking for.

In general, we love Bitcoin and we believe Bitcoin is a virtual currency that has been called cryptocurrency. A few centralized organizations mentioned Bitcoin is an asset that is a virtual asset. Investing in Bitcoin means you are holding this currency or assets that don't give any guarantee of return. Holding value would decrease or increase. Like if you hold fiat (USD), it's the price would up against your local fiat or would decrease as well. So it depends on you how will you welcome Bitcoin. Investing in crypto always remains risky. So you have to decide yourself what you have to do.
An investment that is capable to give you profits and is more valuable and useful, that way it becomes an asset for you. With bitcoin, it’s a proven asset because a lot of people who take the risk have already been making good profits from it. Although not all people experience profits from bitcoin because some only made losses in bitcoin, but if you are knowledgeable and are patient enough to invest in bitcoin, then it will always be a valuable asset.

Bitcoin is a digital asset which can also be referred to as digital gold. You might say gold is a real asset because it has physical properties, whereas bitcoin is not. But when you realize that bitcoin has real uses as a means of payment, then there is no doubt that it is an asset that you can consider as an investment.

Real assets are assets that have a physical form, but you don't always have to rely on something physical to define an investment asset. In fact, bitcoin without physical form has also been a good investment asset over the years. People always compare bitcoin and gold to find out which is the best, but I can advise you that gold and bitcoin are also worth investing in.

Whether it reflects the true asset nature or not is entirely different thing however it does proven one point: it grows over the time and it grows mega fold as compared to any other assets or stocks available out there. Comparing in terms of timeline and higher income growth bitcoin has proven perfect asset to have in your pockets and grow with it. So I think yes, we can completely rely on bitcoin. If it had no valuation or if it’s popularity seem to be decreasing then it could have been done already. But as we can see it’s on the right track. Just grab and keep up the growth.

Bitcoin will always go through every form of scrutinization but will always come out on top. I usually don't hear this same question when people invest in things like Stocks.
I would say BTC investment is almost similar since there are both not real assets but

likewise Bitcoin

At the end of the day, they both have value even if they are not REAL ASSETS but can easily be converted to cash.
That is because bitcoin is newer and that is why people are not entirely sure. I understand that it is not going to be that easy to figure out why people are looking harder into bitcoin to find a fault but the reality is that we are not really doing this because it is regarding something we care for whereas other people are caring about stocks and trying to find a mistake in bitcoin so that they could either feel more comfortable with their stock choice, or feel a bit more powerful by showing a fault in something else.

Either way, they want to make themselves feel better about themselves by showing a problem in crypto, because all problems of the stock world is already known and a big problem at that as well.

Bitcoin is a real asset you can invest all your money and have something good to achieve at the end of the investment that will make you feel happy that you have a huge amount of money with you already. Since we are still experiencing bearish season in the market, showed that you can buy Bitcoin as much you want in this month of September and hold to watch how the bull market will show up for you to make a good income that will make you to believe that you invested on a real asset in the community.

People don't understand it being a real asset until they witness the price increase in an unexpected way like what we saw with the bull run last time. Bitcoins might not be like any other assets out there but if you are patient enough to hold them, you could earn more than what you might have invested in a different way. Not even in its 20 years of existence but there are already so many people that change their lives for the good after investing and trusting the process of holding bitcoins whether for the long term or short term.
Whether Bitcoin is a real asset or not but fortunately, a lot of people become crazy with this knowing that there is a huge possible income in this. In fact, some individuals are selling their properties in order for them to buy Bitcoin for a huge amount. We can't really read what is in their mind but I believe this is because they can sense the huge returns and forget about the risk.
Perhaps, we have Gold as a real asset but people neglect to consider this instead of taking Bitcoin.

People that has no Bitcoin holdings will continuously opposed the idea of Bitcoin as real asset because they butthurt on what Bitcoin achieved in more than 10 years. The legitimacy of an asset is highly based on people speculation which means Bitcoin is a real asset and not at the same time depending on the person who will be asked about it. I think what’s more important is the output of Bitcoin and it’s performance as basis for being reliable assets in able to be categorized as real asset.

what is a real asset and how do you invest for a real Assets.

A real asset for me is anything that generates you a profit whether it is in the form of digital or physical. Investing into digital assets like crypto or stocks will give you profit in the long run once because their value appreciates over the years. Owning a land property is also a good asset because there are many options you can do to it to generate you income. You can build your own business there, rent it to someone, or just sell it at a higher price.

If they are assets, they will have value, and if they have value, they are all assets. To me, I will not distinguish real assets and virtual assets here, all have value and generate profits, I will collectively call them assets. Although bitcoins cannot be seen and touched with my hands like gold, I can sell bitcoins to buy gold and vice versa, so bitcoin as well as gold are valuable assets. No difference here, even bitcoin is more useful asset than gold, bitcoin is more profitable than gold, and bitcoin is easier and more convenient to store than gold.

Kiyosaki mainly likes assets that he can get positive cash flow from, such as real estate . Although he is also quite fond of gold, which does not meet this condition, and he has been talking about bitcoin in a similar way for some years. In these cases, there is no cash flow, but unlike fiat currency, these assets not only do not lose value, but also increase in value compared to what he calls fake money. Gold and bitcoin would be real money.

When you say real asset is money in your pocket, I think Bitcoin is also asset, just like you have money in your pocket, the only difference I think is, Bitcoin is in digital form which cannot be grasped or felt with skin unlike money in a pocket that you can hold and feel with leather, but the meaning and purpose is the same both have value to use when you really need it in the future.

In general terms, real assets are tangible assets, such as property, gold. but here we discuss whether bitcoin can also be used as a real asset, I think it depends on our respective views, considering that not everyone trusts bitcoin as well as gold, only people who know the opportunities for bitcoin declare bitcoin as a real asset with certain characteristics, people who do not understand bitcoin can experience panic selling and loss, thus stating bitcoin is not an investment tool, this is different from people who understand bitcoin
Real assets such as property and gold and several other tangible assets are indeed real investments that provide real results or profits in the next few years. But if we talk about bitcoin whether it is a real asset or not, I think Bitcoin is not a real asset, but the profits made from bitcoin can be a real asset. Gold may be a stable and tangible investment and bitcoin is highly volatile and intangible.

The advantage of bitcoin is that it is not regulated by anyone and has high volatility, so there will be faster returns and more profits. those who do not know the opportunities in bitcoin will only think bitcoin will die and cannot develop in the future. even though bitcoin history has proven that bitcoin is the only most valuable digital asset because of its amazing development.

An asset or a real asset is anything that has value when it comes down to it. Bitcoin has value to people all across the world as both a commodity type asset as well as money for making financial transactions. Again it’s all about the perceived acceptance from the masses and that’s exactly what you get when it comes to bitcoin.

IMO, a 'real' asset that the book states are those assets with high perceived value that a lot of people would agree to. It can be anything, as long as peoole think that its value is fair and its importance is high. Be it digital assets, real estate, trading cards, or even obscure items. As long as there is a market for it and people are willing to pay to get that from you, they can be a real asset because there will still be returns if you decide to sell them, plus their valuation appreciates over time since there is a market for that asset.

But not everyone understands how we feel here. Some people only believe that real and profitable assets are tangible. Even today there are still people who boast that some assets, one of which is bitcoin, is a form of scam. I can't blame people for speculating like that, because they haven't sensed anything happening here.
This is quite reasonable because regardless of anything when discussing this investment it depends on the belief of each person in making investments wherever it is and we also cannot force it to make people believe in Crypto or real physical investments. .
Because in essence it is only the same because it is profitable but different in the form of risk.

It would be nice if you could quote or elaborate on how a real asset is defined in the book. Some people here speculate that a real asset is anything that generates profit, while others say it must be tangible to be real. I believe different definitions can be made, so knowing what the original source was referring to could be productive.
Bitcoin isn't tangible, but neither are many things we get heavily affected by in contemporary world. During the pandemic, most schools and universities went into online learning, where people meet and do stuff digitally without physical meetings, boards and other things. But you wouldn't say that such education wasn't real, right? Similarly, Bitcoin is digital, but it doesn't make it any worse because tangibility itself is of questionable value.

we have interacted with many people in the digital world. nowadays, there is almost no limit to the two. I have the idea that if it's something you own and you can use for real-world purposes, it's a real asset.
real-world use of bitcoin has been done. we cannot value bitcoin and crypto only as digital assets. some countries have even started paying attention to taxes on crypto asset wealth.

some people generate real assets like gold, houses, and vehicles from crypto assets. Trading and investing in the crypto market are growing very rapidly. everyone should open their eyes to keep up with technological developments.

As far as I am concerned, it is not a very important factor, as long as we invest in it and it is able to bring us profit, then it has already become ours property.

I wouldn't call Bitcoin just an investment and profit asset. Because Bitcoin can be our future asset. Bitcoin is gradually being legalized in all countries. And it is hoped that a time will come when Bitcoin will be legalized in all countries and all countries will run with virtual coins after the paper money is gone. And the most trusted and popular coin among them is Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not just an asset for investment and profit. With Bitcoin you can do person to person direct transactions there is no third party involved and therefore less risk. It can be considered as our future asset.

Bitcoin is as much an asset as any other. Assets don’t have to be physical to be regarded as an asset.
What's your basis then? Bitcoin is a good asset but the fact that its price won't guarantee continuous increase, makes it risky, AS WELL. All assets has its own risk but compared to other investments or assets which are generally accepted to the world market, of course there are advantages and disadvantages no matter how we look at it. It is okay to be optimistic in this industry but that is different with being too unrealistic. I've been on this industry for years, and I'd say things are still hard to predict and unassured. Just my two cents, by the way.

Bitcoin is considered.as.money because we can use it directly as a.medium.of exchange and it is also a real asset (intangible asset). You can earn though investing in bitcoin and if you hold it for long term , the more chances of earning huge profit. Don't just focus on bitcoin alone..you can also invest in tangible asset like land. You know as time goes by, the value of tangible assets also increasing and it is less risky that investing in cryptocurrency.

Buddy remember, it's too risky to invest all you money in just one asset and crypto market is too volatile. Always said here that only invest the amount that you can afford lose. Yes, bitcoin is a real asset  and can give you huge profit if you hold it for long term but still don't put all.your money at risk.

Bitcoin is as much an asset as any other. Assets don’t have to be physical to be regarded as an asset.

what is a real asset and how do you invest for a real Assets.
A real asset for me is anything that generates you a profit whether it is in the form of digital or physical. Investing into digital assets like crypto or stocks will give you profit in the long run once because their value appreciates over the years.
(....)
Your explanation is very accurate. Because it is clear that an asset is something that has value and is also valuable such as gold, property, land, houses and other things such as digital currency which in this case I prefer to call it Bitcoin even though there are many other digital assets which also has value and price in the market. But for the question about the problem of assets it is clearly so general that all types of assets can be included in the answer.
That's why they relate Bitcoin to Gold, which both got to have their own value which for me, is an example of an asset, with value and it may have increased in value over time.
But there are still some risks to owning an asset, let's say for example real estate, market or location could be also a risk here,
Bitcoin or gold, we all know these assets could decrease in value.

Owning a land property is also a good asset because there are many options you can do to it to generate you income. You can build your own business there, rent it to someone, or just sell it at a higher price.

I don't think that Bitcoin would be considered a real asset in this context.  I believe he's talking about things tied to real businesses or other sources of real world income.  For example, rental properties or stocks of longstanding profitable companies that pay dividends...
You have a good argument, but I still think and believe that Bitcoin is an asset, be it speculative or real, an asset is an asset, what ever has the ability or potential to bring profit is an asset.

The issue is simply in the definition. For Kiyosaki an asset is something that puts money in your pocket, something that gives you cash flow, which is debatable. For him a 401k is not an asset and the house you live in is not an asset, although for many others it is, because although your house is an expense, if you have it paid for you can sell it and move to  a cheaper one, cashing in the difference. In the case of the 401k the same thing, for a long time it takes money out of your pocket, but at the time of retirement it gives you a lot of money, which is mainly the result of the yield, if you have been investing over many years.

For a bank, for example, when studying your case to give you a loan, both are an asset.

there may be some people who think that bitcoin is not a real asset, and most people who say it are people who don't know about bitcoin. and I've also said that before because I don't know about bitcoin. but after I found out on the internet. then I understand and understand about bitcoin. and finally I am interested in investing in bitcoin. and i think bitcoin is a real asset because i have proven it myself. but of course if you are interested in investing in bitcoin, try to buy it when the market is bearish. that is to get the maximum profit in the future.

Bitcoin is a real asset that belongs only to you and no one else. That is, you own your own bitcoin, unlike stocks, which can be burned, increased or taken out of circulation. Some people are not accustomed to digital assets, but Twitter, for example, is also an asset that is worth a lot of money, but it is also digital.

Bitcoin is already very popular and there are many large companies that accept bitcoin and make payments with bitcoin, in fact almost all billionaires invest in crypto currency, one of which is bitcoin, because bitcoin is a very real asset and very convenient even though it is full of risks but bitcoin can provide real profit, even if it takes a long time, but I will not invest all of it in bitcoin, to be honest I invest only a quarter of my wealth in bitcoin and partly I invest in gold, and the rest I invest in other altcoins, which I definitely leave a little my wealth for my daily needs, investment continues and needs remain normal.

A property is something that gives us value, it is something that generates a profit, it is something that gives us real value.
As an asset class, Bitcoin is also considered to be an asset, but it is a digital asset and is not a real asset.
As far as I am concerned, it is not a very important factor, as long as we invest in it and it is able to bring us profit, then it has already become ours property.

Assets can be defined as physical and non-physical. Maybe thsi is where you confused because you don't hold bitcoin in your wallet as per your definition.

But if you invest in oil or even precious metals like gold, they are intangible as well but they are being considered as assets.

And bitcoin become an asset if you are going to sell it as a certain price and then you put the money in your pocket to satisfy your own definition of asset.

I believe what he's saying here is that true luxury is the money or profit you make through an investment.

so how does BTC relate to being a real asset, and what is a real asset and how do you invest for a real Assets.
Every commodity that has potential and the chance of generating a huge multiplier if held for a certain period is considered an asset. If we do the math BTC has this potential than every asset.
There are many methods of investing in a real asset but you just need to dyor and be sure you're investing in the right asset.

Asset is anything that has future benefit or expectation. Out of all existing asset bitcoin stood out as the best with highest return on investment in over 50 years, although it has exceed 20 years. Bitcoin is a money market that only depends demand and supply, a form of speculation market, this features is worrisome to many countries and they are not comfortable with the growth of the coin. Is more of wealth changing hands in 4 years.

most bitcoin believers are treating bitcoin as a very good asset to invest with. i guess, it depends on how much you believe on this market. as we see btc market with future, for sure, you will spend something on this. but for others who are not seeing this as asset, they won't spend any penny. and that's understandable.

I guess you missed the point in that book, he is advocating investing in "real state asset" because it will give you passive income. He even have some experiments early in his career wherein he buy a property without shelling out money, i.e he uses his credit card, a amount of $2k just to move one and then he loan the remaining like $16k-$20k if I'm not mistaken.

It's just a different approach when you invest in crypto, because unlike real property asset, it has a lots of up and down, but the end result will be the same, it can give you profits in the long run. Also you will hear Robert talks about crypto in general, so I will assume that he also consider it a real asset.

Apart from that even in this case I still categorize bitcoin as a digital asset not a real asset which is like the notion that real assets can be seen in physical form such as Real Estate, Gold etc. But I think it's still possible to do this because if you look at it actually if the book was probably made in the year after bitcoin existed then the results will probably be different Cheesy
Rich Dad Poor Dad is a good book by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter but it was a 1997 book at which time Crypto was even still one that was probably still being planned so that at that time the digital world was still unknown.

You can treat bitcoin as your personal digital asset, it's different from real estate as an asset but both are really good to have if you have the mindset of being an investor.

If that's your understanding about asset being on your pocket. It may not be literally on your pocket but you can have bitcoin on your own wallet which can be signify as your own pocket while holding the private keys which is also the key for having that description that you own it.

But before that, the most important thing in general for assets. As you buy them, make sure that you understand where you're putting your money.

Every time you invest in bitcoins you have to count on your wealth. Whenever you have BTC you can sell whenever you want and you can buy whenever you want. And investing is yours from here You will continue to see potential growth, which is why investing in Bitcoin should be considered an asset. Because its value goes up and down, Bitcoin must be considered an asset.

Bitcoin is not a physical asset, you cannot hold or touch it but you can own it and no one can take it away from you. Bitcoin has real value, nowadays if you own 1bitcoin you can sell them on exchanges for fiat.

But what is wrong here when you say we should invest all our money in bitcoin. There's nothing wrong with that if you're willing to take risks and plan your life for the long term without those assets.

All investments are risky, so no matter what you invest in, don't put all your assets in one basket, should diversify and always have a backup plan for the worst case scenario.

I don't think that Bitcoin would be considered a real asset in this context.  I believe he's talking about things tied to real businesses or other sources of real world income.  For example, rental properties or stocks of longstanding profitable companies that pay dividends.  In spite of what people will try to convince you of, Bitcoin is a speculative asset and likely not something that any financial advisor would recommend that you build a portfolio around.

That should be chapter two of Rich Dad Poor Dad, not certain what page it is but should be either of ( Pg 79,80, & 81 ) He was trying to explain cash flow of money of how assets put money in your pocket while liabilities take money from your pocket. I think OP didn't read that well. Financial advisor's do, telling folks and Peep's to buy $10 worth Bitcoin every week if they can. At least, it's a better decision to take than to buy the latest iphones which won't be useful in the future.

Real Life Shit: My mate ( Secondary school mate ) got one of the iPhone's ( worth some big amounts in naira ) only to get bursted by the Fed's and had his iPhone seized till date. If half of that fund's was used to get $100 worth BTC wouldn't that be a crazy peng Idea ?
Like I read in the forum, teach people about BTCbut don't force em to invest...... If I had told him, I doubt if he was gon buy the idea.

But yeah, Rich Dad Poor Dad is a must read for all, The world's changed already but education and money haven't already or haven't been part of it, why ? Load's of people are not Financially Educated and Financially Intelligent, cause they don't teach bout money in schools.

Speaking of speculative bitcoin being a speculative asset, Gold and other precious stones, stocks etc can all also be considered speculative too since their prices can rise and fall too, the same way Bitcoin has made alot of people rich as well as poor, same way has gold, stocks made people rich and some other persons poor too, all depends on one's level of financial knowledge and decisions taken and when.

An asset is something that brings in money (profit) into your pocket and not contributing in taking away either, money to me is not an asset but can be used to acquire an asset because money can be inflated in an economy, anything you can use money to buy and after some giving time still comes with a return on investment is an asset, bitcoin is a good source of an asset because it an investment you could made to turn a good return over time provided that you learn how it been done, another proof is your search on the internet, you could see that bitcoin among other form of assets where listed as source, i believe that bitcoin wasn't invoke as at when the book rich dad poor dad was launched else it would have been among the available options.

I guess whoever told you a real asset is a money in your pocket was totally wrong, because I too have read the book "Rich dad poor dad" written by Robert Kiyosaki and never for once did i come across such statements. A real asset is an asset whose value appreciate with time, of which a good example of a real asset is land, real estate and precious metals like gold, silver e.t.c
So Bitcoin can be classified as a real asset because it's value appreciate with time, which is why most people choose it as a store of value for long term investment

Bitcoin is a real asset you can invest all your money and have something good to achieve at the end of the investment that will make you feel happy that you have a huge amount of money with you already.
For the love of God, do not invest all of your money in bitcoin, it is too risky to do, invest what you can afford to lose or your spare money, it is a long term investment and your profit will probably come in the long term, so it is unwise to invest with a lump sum, you either use your spare money or you buy with dollar cost averaging.

An asset isn't physical "money in your pockets", it's is something valuable that 'generates money for you'.

Bitcoin is first money, then secondly an asset, it is money because it can be used as a medium of exchange, and it is an asset because it has value and usefulness, and in the long run it can generate profit or money for you. How do you invest in an asset like bitcoin:
  • research and know more about it, to prevent scams, fud and fomo
  • invest what you can afford to lose
  • make sure you understand it is a long term project
  • be patient and wait for the long term
  • ...
