Hi,
I am new to mining. How do you all setup the rig? At home or at rental place as i am trying to see what all additional costs to setup couple of S9.
Any inputs would be great.
I am from ON, trying to find way to setup mining in QC or some please where electricity is cheap.
Please shed some ideas as i am totally new.
Thanks.

Manitoba would probably be best for the electric cost.  S9's would run you a profit I would bet.  IMO it would be best to wait until the next gen miner comes out but you would make bang with an S9.

That is where I am and what I am using.

Hi Louis,

Mining can be profitable anywhere, but Manitoba and Quebec are likely your best bets in Canada. Affordable electricity is paramount in this business.  How much of his setup costs go to actual mining machines depends heavily on site selection and whether the property is leased or purchased and whether the facility is purpose-built or converted from a previous use such as a factory or a server farm.

What a lot of people forget about industrial mining is that the land you purchase and improve is a tangible asset with a re-sale value and there's a huge market for 2nd hand miners.  The Russians have the cheapest power on earth and they buy up used miners by the thousands, sometimes the Chinese will, too. There are definitely opportunities down the line to recoup costs on the initial investment.

My partner and I are looking to open a mine in Manitoba in the next year, so maybe there's an opportunity for co-operation.

Bitcoin miner from Manitoba here... Can confirm!  Cheap on the large scale but Hydro will not let people from out of Provence build.   People getting denied.

please let me know also after search canada mining.
- customs probably will take a nice slice from miners shipped from china.
- generated bitcoin to exchange to btc will create another hit by goverment i guess.
- the amount of power that you will consume is way high and regaltions etc, will craete a massive headache building department licensed electrician bla bla.
-bitmain sold a lot when btc is going up your money will stuck at miner prices which are goes down frequently.
it is profitable and possibly you ll be good client those power companies and creating business for locals (rent workers tax etc) but regulations and all other stuffs will eat up your profit.
i just calculated the miner i bought and paid to bitmain and sale price of miner i would made more profit if just bought and keeps BTC.
if you colo most of miners will be coming from usa and uppss again canadian customs will make trouble here also.
actually miner is coming runing and going back customs must be even zero.
will be nice read here you experiences.
please let us know

A client of our crypto-law office (www.bitcoin-law.ca) is asking us expertise about making a 850 000$ investment in crypto mining operation.

I am a legal adviser, not a geek on mining. But I wonder if this amount is enough to produce a profitable result ? Can he get a good return with this investment ? Is it to small for an expectation of profit ?
