Actually i never hold btc in long time, i prefer ethereum as my main cryptocurrency, low fees and fast transaction. Its easy and all ICOs accept it as payment method.

This has been going on for sometine now, it is called see-saw effect, when Bitcoin rises, Altcoin dumps, when Bitcoin dumps , Altcoins rises. This has been the trend for along time, that is why you shouldalways have BTC reserved  for scenerio like this

People relocate their investments from BTC to alts all the time. When they see Btc going up they want to join in, but it's not always fast enough to invest with more cash. So investing from alts are easier and quicker. When they want to secure some profits alts are a nice place to put them.

When bitcoin decreasing or increasing fastly it ll have bad effect on altcoins, its not important decrease or increase. We need to be carefully when bitcoin move fast. If we find that time we can have very big profit if we use good this oppurunity.

My personal strategy (that is a buy & hold one for mid-long term) is to buy either BTC and most common alcoins... when there is a deep down All go down but otherwise when BTC goes little down many alts rise and vice-versa...

Many coins, most of them are tied to the price of bitcoin and depend on it. But you need to look at the very direction of the market. If the market is bullish, then when the price of bitcoins rises, the market will grow. And vice versa.

Today was a perfect example..was expecting prices to drop and held of making an investment yesterday  however the opposite has happened prices have increased by 10-30%...

Would you advise to hold of buying for now or are we expecting the upwards trend to carry on

A very underrated token to look into is IoT Chain (ITC). They are the IOTA of china and solve all of the problems of IOTA like security and centralized architecture. https://iotchain.io/

My feelings say once the prices of alt coins reach new highs and some buyers cash out, We can expect a significant rise in BTC, possibly the Huge growth projected..Interesting times ahead..

Overall quite tricky as most coins look like their just being pumped by media outlets etc so must approach with carefully. This is where the research, time put in pays off. Simply gives a better perspective..

Anyway thank you guys and best wishes for the new year

Investing in ALTCOINS is a good way when Bitcoin rises, its because in Law of supply and demand, that's why ALTCOINS are getting dump when BTC rises and that is one of the best time to buy ALTS (for me). Also Altcoins gain their value because of popularity.

Just got my answer, prices have dropped considerably and is a good time to buy in..

same time can't help but wonder if most of the alt coins projected to do very well in the future, were simply hyped over the passed few weeks by investors  encouraging beginners to buy in at peaks and push their profits for now hence sudden increase..

From research theirs seems to be common knowledge of a particular trend between Alts and BTC. When BTC move down they move up and vice versa..

Would you agree, Alts were destined for an increase and only getting the attention deserved so hard to say..

Would love to hear your opinions

Thanks
