Continuous development but still have a bad value on the market? Sound not very good. I know a coin also has continuous development but since that coin doesn't have a 'trending' feature so the price going nowhere. It is really up to you but if you already loss 3000$ to 4000$ and the chance to come back is slim, you should sell it.
this is the main problem with many of projects they have steady development but lacking in building communities, making branding and failed in marketing. even if a project very useful its as good as nothing if no one uses it or utilize the worth of it. so many projects out there actually doing quite well developing their project but ended up failed. developers of project need to know this.

It's good to know that project is still developing but it looks like your loss is almost 70% here. The project is developing so its possible that the price will go upward but it will be very hard for you to gain any profit from it because your loss is too big. So I think it will be better to move into another project and also you can keep a very small amount of it and don't even look at that token price for the next 2 years. Maybe those small amounts will recover some of your losses.

That such a big loss i think, with almost 70% lost i think you should try another coin and a little from that maybe for you invest to yourself
Maybe buy some book or ebook, you can spend your time to learn more about the coin and watch the youtube to learn from the expert about fundamental or technical analyst
I know how expensive we spend to learn the loss we got was include from the study

Don't give me false hope, I need answers, is it a wise move to hold on to a coin that have continuous development but bad value? Or should I dump for other coin? I'm already in a big loss from 3000$ to 400$ presently, the continuous development is why I still hold on. This good or bad ? The project name is (Switch) aka ESH
The price depends on the demand so if their platform or services will be in demand only then you can expect the project to get limelight and attract people. Secondly the token should have utilities where it should be used for different tasks, this will derive demand when paltform fully launches so it is better to hold and give team more time.

I have a good idea for you. But, I'm not a financial expert. I just think about this method to regain some of your lost money..

First, consider selling your actual ESH for ether or bitcoin..
Then, invest in a promising and cheap price ICO project (one that you can have 80% assurance that it will be a success.) This means that the project already has a demo product, solid exchanges to be listed into, and a huge niche market/demand for it. It must be funded properly, with big cap, and knowledgeable team behind it. YOUengine project has all these ingredients. So, you can reinvest into this one.
Third, once you have regained some profit, sell a portion of your YOUengine tokens and hold the rest for even more profit..

If you invest in some top altcoins like btc, eth, then the amount of your capital risk will be less. I accumulated some altcoins in 2018 without any research which were later caught as shitcoins. I am sorry for your loss and i have a special plan that you keep their currency for some more time. Because if their product development is good then the demand for their currency will increase then you can bring back the loss.

I must confess that you're a loyal holder. In fact you're a good man and deserve an accolade for staying with the project despite the overwhelming drop in value. It's sincerely not worth selling now, because you're be at loss and would regret your decision if the project picks. I'll advise that you remain loyal to the project and hopefully your loyalty would pay off.

As long as the project development progresses, I don't think you need to switch to other investments, let alone hear that you have suffered huge losses with coins (Switch), maybe stick with the first decision. at least wait for the coin price to rise or until you can recover your loss capital at that point. but if you want to switch to another coin then I suggest BTC which is safe for investment.

No one disputes the fact that BTC is a great investment object, but we must remember that it will not be able to return 1000%. which OP lost by investing in Switch. Therefore, I believe that the OP should continue to hold the switch, since there is still the prospect that the price of this coin may return to the previous one.
The reason why it wont return that much is because it's definitely a less risky option than the coinwhich OP invested. if it could return that much that means the risk is higher which as you can see has happened to OP which is losing money due to the humongous risk. expecting 1000% return is honestly too much.

Although im not expert, i have some experience in holding some coins.
First you need to find out why the coin price keep falling. If it was because other investors sold them, its ok, but if it was because the team sold it, then you should dump it as well and look for other coins. Some investors might dump the coin because they think they found a better project.

The loss is huge and it is not the best time to quit after over 90% loss. If they continue to build and there is feedback to the community in a timely manner, things will surely turn-around somehow someday.

Investing in a coin that has dropped som much happens a lot in this space. In the case of the author, the amount of loss already might not be easily recovered except he is good at trading, because he might make a mistake that will result in drastic and an unbearable loss again. Since he has lost in a coin that is still being actively developed, he can still wait to see if there will be a recovery, although, it might not be as much as what he invested with, at least, he might be able to recover part of his fund.
I think you have to be careful when investing in coins whose prices are still cheap because it will provide a very high risk, one of the biggest risks is that you might get stuck at high prices and make you lose, so stay alert when you want to buy coins At a low price, make sure it has very good potential for example it has a very high demand.

Nobody could know if a coin would go up or down, so we can't say if you should throw that coin away or not neither, the only thing any "expert" can tell you is their own prediction but it is just that, a "prediction" so I do not think you should move according to anyone's ideas. If it was me I would personally wait for a coin that constantly gets development and bad value, that way I would know that it could potentially worth something one day if one of those developments actually make it to higher stage.

However I actually done something similar and in return I lost money, I was involved with Nano that constantly gets developed and the price plummeted and never really recovered. So in the long run I would say that you should probably focus on what you think about that specific coin and not type of that coin.

I am not into this coin so I don't know much, how active the team are and what they have in stock for their community. So, if you can check the platform to see if the team are really active, if the team really have things or rather good developments coming up then you can hold. But if they are no longer serious like the used to be and the community themselves, if they have lost interest then you can sell because once a community lose Interest in a project, it will only keep dumping unless the team do something fast about it.

You will be getting a lot of false hope from here. To be honest, most people over here are not "expert" but they try to act like one! So, don't take any of their suggestions seriously.
As for coins with continuous development but bad value, are you sure they are making progress or they are just "all talk, no work"? Value also depends on the supply and how they are being distributed. Do more analysis of the coins you have invested in and YOU decide if you should hold or sell it.

If you lost with it then your decision is not a wise move. A wise move will be to profit whether that certain project keeps on developing their platform or not.

You've lost a big amount already, it will be good if you will consider it as your bad experience in investing. You should always put a stop loss in every investment
that you will try to invest in so you can avoid lossing too much money from a single investment. It is not bad if you trust them as they continue to develop their project
but your decision is not a wise move knowing that you lost 2600$ from it.

Just move to another coin, don't waste your time bro because its not a bitcoin so it has less chance of survival.Even though the project is getting developed continuously it will be harder to survive from that much deep price fall.

Crypto is long term. If you have to invest in any crypto project the first thing to consider is to firs thave patience as it is almost impossible to invest in projects and have profit on investments you made not too long  along. If you know the project is stil working, keep holding cos the news updates also influences the price positively.

with $ 3000 why don't you choose BTC or ETH. $ 3000 is more than enough, even large enough to be an investment. Don't you do your research first about the coins you choose when they are invested. I even just heard about the ESH (Switch) coin. looks unpopular.
A good and not misleading recommendation is to invest in bitcoin or Ethereum, which is what many experts recommend.

I am sorry to hear about your loss.Switch(ESH) is likely exchange projects. I see that exchange is looks still new.
I can't give certain advice. But, if you want to recover your loss, you can try to invest in defi projects. It can give 10x ROI.
The more profits, the more risks there will be. So do not be greedy in this market, Defi is very profitable but not too many people get those profits. And I've seen a couple of Defi projects crash over the past few days, its value has dropped more than 98%.

my advice you can throw away and invest in new coins. believe that there are still many good potential coins that can potentially give you a profit of more than $ 3000. You must focus and be consistent with your next trade, so you can turn your losses into profit

You must have invested when it was on its ATH before the GHOST airdrop. The team of ESH is very active and if you believe that the project has potential then be patient. Unlike many projects, there had been a large development since ESH started. You should've expected the price will get lower once the airdrop is distributed. It's up to you if you can shoulder your loss if you sell your ESH now, but I believe ESH has a long-term potential.

If you can tell the name of the coin then it would be better to give right advice from the experienced forum members. In my opinion its better to give up on the project since the value dumped over 90% so it will be very hard to recover to its original value for a random altcoin.

I find it difficult to give advice, because the current value of the coin in comparison with the resulting loss is no longer of value. Of course, it would be correct to immediately set a stop loss, which would be equal to a maximum of 30%, to fix the loss and no longer remember about this coin. But at this price per coin, as it is now, I would continue to hold it.

Crypto is unpredictable, you invested in this ESH for a reason, I think you need patience since development is still ongoing, you might end up been surprised what the future holds for this project, non active team is another thing entirely but that's not the case here.

Im not an expert when it comes to investment, but i have a background knowledge since we have Investment subject way back.. before you decided to invest on something, make sure that you're doing research and background investigation . also I advise that we should not put all of our  money on 1 basket. One of the most important ways to lessen the risks of investing is to diversify your investments.
That's so true! Investing is not an easy task, therefore, it requires us to have a lot of things. For example, to be a good investor, we should learn proper knowledge, skills, techniques that can be applied to the market. Also, having experiences is quite critical. Skills such as technical analyzing or doing researches are very important. You're also right that we shouldn't invest all of our capital in one project!

I don't know much about the project but I can tell you what I read from the chart.

This was a pump and dump project like many other similar worthless shitcoins. It's not an oscilator but a degenerator. It doesn't follow the general trend in crypto but has its fake pumps and then dumps back to the mean.

If you bought during the pump you can still wait for another one but in general you'd do better with any of the oscilators like ETH or ADA than this crap.

Its a big loss mate why you decided to invest all of it in one token? To gain more profit? If Im in your situation and as you said the development is ongoing, I will most likely wait a few more months than to sell to cut your loss, just be patience, you invested on them then trust them.

You already waited and lose the value of your investment, if you believe that the project still on its way for developing more then better to keep your assets.

Cutting loses with that huge amount  it's really a big gamble, and you are not even sure if after you sell it out and but another project then you'll be more successful.

You need to think twice and do more deeper analysis before listening to any opinions that will be brought here,
it's your money to take care so make sure to balance everything and not just be carried away by the current situation.
Remember you are inside crypto industry accept the fact that volatilities will make you lose or do the other way.

In Crypto it's really good to investigate before investing. FOMO is real, the fact you invested with such amount out if hype and FOMO and you didn't sell off when you should have, I would advice since they are on development you should just give them little more time to to finish of their development because the coin you are going to buy may end up turning your 400$ to 0 or increase it. Just hope for the best from the project so you can recover your loss.

You followed the hype it caused I guess, that's by the way. You invested 3000$ and it turns to 400$ I think the time you would have sold has passed now it's time for you to hold. Like you said, the team are active that means they will likely bring a huge development that will turn things around. Also, depending on how active they are, you might not fully recover everything but will get a good chunk out, so that is, hold do not sell.
With this huge loss of yours, i think holding it maybe the best option. Just wait for a while for the project to recover and hopefully its value will surge again when you least expect it. Having stop loss at this time will just cause you a big loss so take the risk while holding it for another quite of time. If the project has really potentials, then learn to trust it.

Sorry about your losss man, that token from Mcfee really saw some huge rise and i think you missed the rise. Frankly speaking they have another coin called SWITCH and that seems to be doing pretty well, if you were holding your ESH then you should equally be having the new token called switch and that is doing pretty well on the market. maybe sell the switch and keep on holding on the ESH. You never know this can turn into something great in future.

How much money did you invest in that project? If you invest more than $ 2000 and lose $ 300-400 then I think you should get out of this project and go to other better projects to invest, this is just a small project in this market. And I don't see any potential for it to grow in the future

This is not false hope, esh is a good project as far as i can tell from all the hardwork the team have put on the project,  sometimes we tend to give up on a project and sell immediately because the price is down but at the long run the project will come to surprise us,
my advice is not to sell, I also have some few else I bought because of Ghost airdrop, am still holding because I believe the team will do their best so the value will increase again.

If you have already spotted more better coin and entry then you may flip from that but doing so may be risky as you may face even more downside in second coin so you have to set your own strategy by calculating risk to reward ratio.

Well, i do not believe in seeking or answering investment questions here on the forum, but from the look of things you appeared to have bought the green candles of the token instead of waiting for a market opening. The most important question you only can answer is if the project has the credibility to attain 3000$ once again, because to me only bitcoin or etherum are bullish long term.

The choice is yours to either cut loss or continue to hodl on, do your own research and next time, do not buy green candles.
You are absolutely right, because in this case you need to act very quickly in order to minimize your losses. It is better to get rid of those coins that were bought at high prices, because there is no guarantee of growth in the near future. If we talk about less risky investments, it is better to invest in the top-rated cryptocurrencies, BTC and ETH, and you can also follow the new Defi projects, which are very popular among investors today.

How much precisely you lose? If you believe in the project, you need to hold until the price can increase. But if you doubt that the project can succeed in the future, then it still not better to dump the coin because you still get the loss of your money. There is nothing you can do but wait for the price increases in the next bull run. I don't know about the project, so I don't know if my suggestion is false hope or not. But the question is why you invest in that project? We have bitcoin, and if you have $3k before you invest in that project, I think you can select bitcoin as your investment. It is an important lesson for you, so you don't make the same mistake. The risk will be yours, and you need to know more about the project before you invest.

i got profit from this project while they give ghost coin to ethershift holder. but after this event , price continuesly drop and there is no more important update from developers team. my advice better to put your money into different project with more potency, maybe i could give one project that could be next gems , this project was NEAR PROTOCOL . they have alot good partner. do your own research with any project so you will not loss again.
Good advice, I think it's better if OP can take his or her loss and invest in a promising new project that plans to do IEO on top exchanges or have good development of such, this is the only way to recover his or her losses, Serco can you please tell me how to invest in NEAR PROTOCOL? Actually it will depend. If the project is continously developing then your still have a chance to recover. The problem is not with the project itself but with the demand. Maybe people are not aware on its progress or the team doesnt have a good marketing so demand still low. Esh is a dex project right? Im not sure whether their platform still active but if you already loss more than what you mentioned then its down a lot.

Here the tips will not help, maybe you will sell the token, and it will start to grow, and what you buy will fall on the contrary. Now a lot of projects are growing, maybe it makes sense to buy something.
It looks like you are a little wrong in this, okay I will try to straighten it out, every tip given by others is an additional help for us to use, because all those tips are of course always useful, it just depends on someone whether he needs it or not, because it doesn't all the tips that can be used by someone in one thing.

If the development is going on and you are confident about the use cases and practicality of the project amd you are sure that the project will be a success as there will be demand for its products and services in the market then you should definitely hold it otherwise you can flip for some other better coin or project.

Have you also considered the events on the altcoin market?
It may be growing now but most of them are just the list on the top.

I have one coin that also has the same circumstances.
The team is still working, no problem with their support.
They answer every query you will have.
But it may not always reflect the market. That's the difference between value and price.
I think you are looking for the price.

This is the risk of investing in new projects, after an open trade, the price will definitely dump. I can't say Switch (ESH) is a coin
good or bad, because it's too early to judge. Because the ESH token was only listed on April 20, it is still difficult to analyze it.
My advice is to just hold on to the ESH token that you have, because new projects such as ESH tokens can be pumped suddenly.
After all, if you sell now will experience a big loss, before the ESH token is sold it means you have not lost yet.

Well, there are 2 possibilities
the first, coins that are still in development, could also increase in price if accompanied by high coin liquidity as well. if it does not have liquidity, development will feel useless because there is no interest in the coin. if it keeps dropping, sell it or wait some more time.

secondly, coins that do not have high development or do not develop high intensity, but the coin liquidity is high and the market cap is high, it could continue to rise, for example bitcoin. although bitcoin continues to be developed, it is different from new projects that continue to develop, but the results are the same. it is because the new project failed to get this liquidity.

If you are doubting about those developing altcoins that you are holding better research more first about it and look if that project has high reviews from mostly well-known crypto-enthusiasts. Also, sometimes you just need to have faith even their are times that it goes down because still it has a potential to have a good bullish run at a certain point.

You do not want false hope? You only get that when you are asking for speculation advice here my friend,,, all you need to do is make your own decisions and cut losses. Accept your loss, or be prepared to lose the $400 more. And never invest speculatively again.
part of investment.is risk and in cryptocurrency investment risk is relatively high but at the same time.getting profit is also high. it will depend on the market movement. If you do not wish to.get losses then just simply hold your crypto and do.not sell it when you will not be able to earn from it. That is the basic in earning in cryptocurrency. Be patient and never get worried that market may never going to.recover. It may take some time though.

Some members mentioned here that you are investing in ESH then I check on CMC the coin is listed on several exchanges, but the volume is tiny, which makes it difficult for prices to up and eventually the value of your investment drops.
Even if there are updates in development if it is seen that it is not something that is interesting then the coin will be difficult to get attention from crypto lovers.
The decision is in your hands which is certain that if you sell now you will experience a big loss, but at least you can think about investing in other coins that could provide big profits, but never do the same thing namely by putting all your investment in one coin and it would be better if you buy coins listed on CMC or Coingecko with high trading volume.

when you bought it? when ESH was ATH? I think if you mention the price when you bought it will be easier. I saw their recent post that they are active and trying to develop. But if you bought in ATH then it's nearly impossible to reach that price within a few months because the price is very low now. For long term Maybe can reach the ATH. but not in 2-3 months.

I'm not familiar with this ESH or Switch, but you can't do anything about it for now because you have lost so much money. The only thing I can say is that we are in a sort of altcoin mini bull run, and there's a possibility that even a coin such as Switch might have it's day in this bull run to go up and at least cut your losses.

We don't want to be in the kind of situation that you are in right now, nobody wants to hold a coin where he is continuously losing, you can choose to dump it and go for the coin that shows great potential in the market or you can sell half of it and take the half on the coin with good potentials, these are all recommendation it's up to you how you are going to decide but always check the advantages and disadvantages of both arguments.

Right, I think so too, he buys ESH when the price high, asset decline from $ 3000 to $ 400 is a very sad loss. It will take a long time for the ESH price to come back. Maybe hold is the last option if you don't want to Cutloss.

Oh my god! That's a huge lose already. What sign are you asking for? How ironic for you to believe that the project itself continue to improve but you're losing hard in your part. Dude if I were you, I will find my exit as soon as possible. I'm not saying right now, you can wait further until the price go up in order to diminish your loss but if your gut feel says the price might fall harder then wait no more. Dump and invest to a more reputable alts like eth or just stick with btc. It is safer to to do so.

Some coins although the developer is keeping up the development is having a hard time to increased in value, because investors are looking on a features that will contribute to the greater need of the people, I don't know much about ESH but my I'm talking about things in general you can sell some to other coins that has higher potential the one you are currently holding but retain a percentage since it's a developing project.

Honestly, I am not expert about financial advice but I have very potential investment project that you will never lose if you are believer and long term holder, I advice this project also to my friends and relatives last year and they are happy today.
