Some questions need to self-ask then self-answer.

  • Where  does my capital for investment come from?
  • How long will I plan to invest?
  • Will I need all or part of the capital for my daily expense?
  • Do I identify take-profit and cut-loss points for my investment?
  • Is the percent of profits higher than percent of loss (at take-profit and cut-loss price) ?

i would like to share one article from medium network and questions listed in the article that one should ask yourself before entering the trade/investment to stay profitable:

1. Am I Entering a Consensus Trade? - are you part of the herd and enter the market that is already saturated, if everyone is talking about it, it is probably at the top in the moment, and should be avoided
2. What‘s My Upside and Downside? - write down what you can lose when you enter the trade, especially with leverages options that are now on the market
3. Have I Done the Work? - do not buy what you do not understand, it is risky
4. Am I Too Early? - do not fight the trend, there is no skill on finding top/bottom, it could just be predicted
5. Have I Been Coerced? - think about how you got the news, there is always spin in the news from people on the other side of the trade
6. How Does This Affect My Diversification? - re-calculate your positions and diversification of assets before/after each new trade
7. What’s My Backup Plan? - have a plan in either case that could your investment go, down or up, and stick to it
8. Am I Too Late? - think twice before buying on the top, if the price gone parabolic, you are already late for sure
9. Am I Bored? - do not trade with a "what a hell", "what have i got to lose" and similar mind patterns, do other things
10. Why On Earth Am I In This Trade? - if it is because of greed, boredom or FOMO, skip it

this should help one to become more profitable, but should not be taken as financial advise
