**INVESTORBITCOIN.COM** STAY AWAY THIS IS MOST DEFIANTLY A SCAM FROM INITIAL RESEARCH**

This has a red flag written all over it. First of all they guarantee returns on investment. This is investing 101, someone guarantees you money in return for doing nothing is generally a scam. Generally if it sounds to good to be true, it generally is to good to be true and you will be taken for a ride. Now some surprising things about this most likely fake company, it says it's out of New York.

Interesting enough if you do a street view on google maps ( there is not even a company in this building from the looks of it named "investorbitcoin" but interestingly enough there is a bank there(M&T BANK)?? Maybe some involvement on some sort of elaborate ponzi scheme..
Doing a lookup on their domain you can see that this domain was just registered: (This should be a red flag to, they are a brand new company that had 4 million flow through in February according to this article https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/investor-bitcoin-investment-plans-guarantees-zero-losses/

Website is being hosted on a IP out of Amsterdam
They are using name servers here> thcservers.com > most likely hosting there site with them as well, and THCservers.com is out of ROMANIA.

I would be very leery about this company and would advise people to be extremely cautious if you are evening thinking about sending them your hard earned bitcoins!

13.WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT?

The minimum investment amount is only 0.2 bitcoin for basic package and the maximum amount is $500,000 for VIP.

14.CAN I MAKE ADDITIONAL INVESTMENTS AT ANY TIME?

Yes, there is no limitation. You can make as many deposits as you want.

One thing that hits me is the minimum is 0.2BTC, at the moment it's 230USD, which isn't some pocket money. They don't allow small fish to play and take only serious deposits, but what amazes me is the maximum amount. They are offering such enormous returns and can receive sums like $500k, without breaking a sweat, because right below that they are saying there's no limit and you can make many deposits, so if you send them 3x $500k they claim to be ok with it. To be able to operate on such sums they'd need enormous liquidity, like a large bank at least. IMO they are just greedy and waiting for a big fish to invest and once they gather up a couple of those VIP investors, they will shut it down and fly back to Nigeria.

Just to add to this, even though I think we're all pretty unanimous that all the signs point to this being a scam ....

I decided to email the company (as a potential investor) to give them chance to explain their investment model and how they are able to guarantee such good returns. I pointed them to this BitcoinTalk discussion thread and suggested that they answer people's concerns and scepticisms.

I sent the email to: General Email: [email protected]

A couple of days went by, no reply.

So I forwarded the email to: Business Email: [email protected]

Within hours I received the following rather abrupt and unhelpful reply:

Quote
We cannot control any forum posts, and we cannot answer to so called "haters" complaints, all the information you need is already public .

Thank you for understanding .

With Regards,

Paul Wolt

Consultant at Investor Bitcoin Inc.

+1 607 654 0670

So I replied, politely requesting clarification, specifically on which information (on their website) I should be reading to understand how they are able to provide such good returns.

I am yet to receive a reply (days later).

So I think we can conclude with something like 99.99999% certainty that it's a scam.

It seems Investor Bitcoin has made it on to the bad list too: http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/index.htm

What concerns me is when the likes of CoinTelegraph publish articles, promoting these scams:
https://cointelegraph.com/press-releases/bitcoin-investment-opportunity-with-investor-bitcoin

To be fair they do point out (with a very faint gray disclaimer):
Quote
This is a paid press release. CoinTelegraph does not endorse and is not responsible for or liable for any content, accuracy, quality, advertising, products or other materials on this page.
But I think the article should be removed or at the very least contain a clear warning.

Does anyone here have a contact for CoinTelegraph?

Scams like this harm the reputation of cryptocurrencies. I think we should do what we can to warn people.

If you are thinking of investing in any bitcoin type scheme, you might want to check out this website first: https://www.sec.gov/oiea/investor-alerts-bulletins/investoralertsia_bitcoin.html

Quote from SEC wesite:
As with any investment, be careful if you spot any of these potential warning signs of investment fraud:

  • “Guaranteed” high investment returns. There is no such thing as guaranteed high investment returns. Be wary of anyone who promises that you will receive a high rate of return on your investment, with little or no risk.

Unsolicited offers. An unsolicited sales pitch may be part of a fraudulent investment scheme. Exercise extreme caution if you receive an unsolicited communication – meaning you didn’t ask for it and don’t know the sender – about an investment opportunity.

Unlicensed sellers. Federal and state securities laws require investment professionals and their firms who offer and sell investments to be licensed or registered. Many fraudulent investment schemes involve unlicensed individuals or unregistered firms. Check license and registration status by searching the SEC’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure (IAPD) website or FINRA’s BrokerCheck website.

No net worth or income requirements. The federal securities laws require securities offerings to be registered with the SEC unless an exemption from registration applies. Most registration exemptions require that investors are accredited investors. Be highly suspicious of private (i.e., unregistered) investment opportunities that do not ask about your net worth or income.

Sounds too good to be true. If the investment sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Remember that investments providing higher returns typically involve more risk.

Pressure to buy RIGHT NOW. Fraudsters may try to create a false sense of urgency to get in on the investment. Take your time researching an investment opportunity before handing over your money.

I will update this post if they ever send me what they promise per their website.

The site is quite new so even though it's very likely that it is a scam, you might be one of the lucky ones who participated early enough to get a payout. If they get enough people falling for it, it's likely they'll payout the first 'investors' from the funds of the new 'investors' to encourage more people to join in and existing users to invest more (aka a Ponzi scheme). Just don't be tempted to re-invest if you're lucky enough to get paid!

Well Folks, I fell for their scam, sent 0.20 BTC. Wish I had come here first. Heard about it from cryptocoinsnews.com (fake news?)... It was a new story, with no comments yet. I recommend this article: https://blog.webnames.ca/how-to-determine-if-a-website-is-a-fake-fraud-or-scam/

I fell for the fake news I guess... I will update this post if they ever send me what they promise per their website.

The reason I'm pretty sure it's a scam is that there is a mistake on the confirmation they sent and when I emailed them the first time for additional info, they responded, but when I emailed asking for a corrected confirmation, they stopped responding.

They are registered here: https://www.webnames.ca/whois#?currentDomain=investorbitcoin.com But not with the same physical address as on the website (New York, USA). On Whois they are registered in Queensland, Australia. Also, not the same email address or phone number. Doing the research after the fact is a good way to get scammed... Damn Sad

Does anybody know if they can hack a BTC wallet if they have the address?

i read this post on Bitcointalk.org but i went ahead to invest in investorbitcoin and i got my pay out today

Perhaps a representative from the business could enlighten us.

It looks like you both have some connection

 Huh

Not in the least. I'm the OP who called-out this site remember. In fact you may notice I pointed out the glaring discrepancy above by the poster who claims to have received a return on his/her investment (in just 3 days).

I'm actually just intrigued but I'm just as sceptical as you.

While I doubt this is going to happen, at least not with any credibility, I'd quite like to see a representative of this company defend the business. My message to them is clear: Provide convincing reassurance or it's a scam.

Meanwhile, this thread should hopefully serve as a warning to others searching for 'Investor Bitcoin'.

Which investment plan was that? This thread was only started 3 days ago  Huh

And I don't think people are necessarily condemning; they're *questioning*. They're asking how these claims of high return on investment over such a short period could be genuine.

Perhaps a representative from the business could enlighten us.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Pretty much what I thought. I wasn't actually considering using the service myself but I figured it might be a good idea to mention it here, if only to serve as a discussion/warning for Google to index when people are searching for 'Investor Bitcoin'.

-- which makes it enticing -- and I suspect that's exactly what they're hoping people will think. Get a few thousand people 'investing' 0.2 BTC and it could add up to a lot!

That is a common psychological trick mostly used in these type of scams, You"re thinkin what the hech I just might throw 0.2 btc into this and maybe I"ll get more than double back and if I dont I wont cry over that amount. But if they get only 50 people to "invest" in their "project" they get 10 btc minus 1 btc for their "scam expenses". then they just close the site and start doing the next scam....

True. Would probably be nice to get into it while they're still paying out though. If you are early enough into a Ponzi you might actually get some interest. I've tried one of those sites before (btcriver.com). Not that I'm really interested in, I was actually quite suspicious but I deposited anyway so my cousin would stop asking me to try it. Never got my money back but it's just a small amount anyway. As for him... he said he was able to get some payout before they fled. Not asking how much he lost, he seem really disappointed. I suppose he wouldn't be trying those sites again any time soon.

My own thoughts is that the lowest investment (0.2 BTC) is a small amount to risk -- which makes it enticing -- and I suspect that's exactly what they're hoping people will think. Get a few thousand people 'investing' 0.2 BTC and it could add up to a lot!
0.2 BTC is no.small amount considering that it's close to 200$ at the moment. Provided that bitcoin is.an irreversible payment mean, such websites are trying to lure in victims with a hit and run tactic. Always be extra cautious of "investment" websites only accepting bitcoins as payments.

Its just another hyip scam and those indications of too good to be true returns on a short period of time are just always a characteristics of a Scam since theres no legit investment that do give best offer or high returns on a matter of days. Stay away if you smell scam then don't try to put your money on.

Nothing gives you so much profit unless you are working hard for it and you got a genius idea (see the millionaires and billionaires). There are many websites offering to give you over 200% profit in a very short time - why would you do that? What could he do with the money to make so much profit for you out of it? Ponzi schemes or scams. When something seems too good to be true, it is.

This belongs to service discussion. Anyway Van Allen, listen to Aubert. A 250% return in 7 days is too good to be true. If they really can do that, why wont they come up with the money themselves and invest then reap the profits?

Any website promising such returns will end up scamming people gullible enough to put money in. And that really is the best case scenario because the possibility of the scheme administrators running away with money put with them form moment one is also very high.

By looking at their investment plan, it's obvious that this website is scam, 250% return within 7 Days is just too dreamy and it's there only to lure those people with lack of knowledge
Just get away from this kind of site. You're probably getting impressed by their website interface when the truth is that to build this website you just need only damn 0.5BTC.

And fake street address as a normal practice which usually have done by those scammy websites : https://www.google.co.id/maps/place/5+E+Market+St,+Corning,+NY+14830,+USA/@42.143385,-77.0541358,3a,75y,25.33h,104.75t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1swf7-3RCinZ0_06bxVcMDIA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x3659e1d79f1594c3!8m2!3d42.1435074!4d-77.0541238!6m1!1e1
