My birthday was fun teaching these students,I had to take this pictures for remembrance and to also show to forum members to update you about  this. I need your contributions or observations, advice to my passion of spreading Bitcoin in my locality.

Doing  it for free made me to like every part of the story and its interesting.  You gave out the best gift on your birthday without  expecting anything in return from the school management , this very gift is priceless.  You have done well by sharing knowledge about bitcoin this young students,  but I don't really know if apart from the introduction of bitcoin you where able to touch the security aspects of bitcoin,  how important for them to take security serious.

It's quite extraordinary what you give, even though learning about bitcoin is not included in the education curriculum at your place of residence or at any school. Sometimes the contribution of knowledge is far better, than teaching people to invest openly, when they understand bitcoin or crypto learning, the awareness to make small investments will grow by itself. This is good for the kids at the school, so they have a basic foundation before moving on to practical investments. You deserve to be called a Cryptocurrency guru in your area of residence.

Two weeks ago,I posted a thread on the forum about spreading Bitcoin awareness in my area and my place of work, which I shared flyers to people in my area about teaching Bitcoin, so that anyone interested can easily contact me. This innovation has started yielding good friuts. One evening I received a call from a lady I don't know, she asked if she was speaking to the person that his contact was on the flyer,I said yes. She introduced herself to me as Mrs Susan Wilson, then said she will love to see me so that we can discuss. This woman is a proprietress  to one of the private schools in my area called Legacy Comprehensive College, we booked an appointment to my own convinent time which she was OK with.
The next day I went to see her in office, to my greatest surprise she told me to teach her students in the senior secondary school about Bitcoin. I was astonished and marvel on her initiative for her students to learn Bitcoin in school. I then asked her about her knowledge in bitcoin, she said it was her husband that told her alittle about bitcoin. After much discussions she concluded by saying, she wants the best for her school and to create a difference in the area by teaching them more about reality of life than just books. She also asked how much will she pay for the class and I told her that its a voluntary service.

We fixed a date for that class but because of my busy schedule with work,It didn't work out. On Sunday evening Mrs Susan Wilson called again, saying that hope I will be able to come the next day which was yesterday for the class that she has already informed the students. I thought of it and told her that I will come on Tuesday which is today. Yesterday I met with my boss and told him I will becoming three hour late to work today which he permitted me.

Today being Tuesday 20th of September is my birthday so I voluntarily taught the students of Legacy Comprehensive College,SSS2 class Bitcoin, as my birthday gift to them. It was really a wonderful day, teaching these lovely and brilliant students  about bitcoin, even a staff of the school also joined in the class, he said he loves to learn something new as a teacher. A lot of questions was been asked by the students,a girl even asked how can you own a bitcoin which I told them all they need to know about bitcoin excluding the investment aspect, the class lasted for one and half hour. This is my first time to teach Bitcoin in school, after the class I saw that the students were so excited learning something new.

Mrs Susan Wilson is the lady beside me, she pleaded with me to come back and take them the practical class on Bitcoin that the school has a computer lab.
My birthday was fun teaching these students,I had to take this pictures for remembrance and to also show to forum members to update you about  this. I need your contributions or observations, advice to my passion of spreading Bitcoin in my locality.

Thank you for doing the work of disseminating Bitcoin knowledge under harsh conditions. The community needs more volunteers to do this. I learned that schools in many countries around the world do not have professional courses on Bitcoin and blockchain. Only really early adopters or tech geeks can take on more work. Hopefully more and more educational institutions will be able to infiltrate this work.

Bitcoin has long way of understanding it. And that's while whosoever that have kids at home supposed to educate it kids the basic foundation of cryptocurrency, so that before they will grow up the have already comprehend the rudiments of cryptocurrencies and especially bitcoin in particular. Because children understanding of bitcoin have to do segment so that they can coup, but since some people is not bitcoin in clan, teaching or impacting the knowledge of Bitcoin to them with a gradual step is absolutely right from my perspective.
For the initial stage, what the OP did is one that deserves appreciation. He would be known as a cryptocurrency guru among those students or rather a bitcoin guru to them. Gradually the OP can continue his mission if any of the students are interested in learning more about bitcoin.
But I'm curious, has the OP really gotten a few interested students so far?

This is a very nice move, though I am not a fan of teaching kids about uncensored bitcoin knowledge. What do I mean, you said you thought them about the investment aspect, I do not agree with that aspect. The basic knowledge of bitcoin is good for them. Majority of the students are below 18years and would not be able to take responsibility of the consequences of investing in bitcoin. Most of them could risk their school fees in bitcoin and thereby stagnate their education. If you will teach them again, don't teach them about investment yet.

Bitcoin is something that needs to be taught gradually to beginners, especially this younger ones in school. It is a pity that my country don't want bitcoin to be adopted for now. I believe with time it might be adopted, that is why the knowledge should be passed on to everyone not only these students,so that people can now make their decision either to use bitcoin or not.

It is a great thing what you do, I have tried to teach bitcoin where I am living, most of them are quite old people, and it is difficult for them to believe in these new technologies, it is very difficult for them to believe that the system that they have lived during their lives it has many flaws, and vulnerabilities that only banks control and that governments centralize, for them the insurance is fiat money and nothing else, but I have made some buy bitcoin, not the complete bitcoin, but I told them it was a matter of time that this investment is increased as they have never been able to imagine, but that they had to wait, and it is very striking that they have no problem with waiting.

Kudos OP.

The best time to teach them is when they are young, and you just did it. Young people are the curious once and introducing Bitcoin to them was the best idea. I hope you'll continue to guide them until they are earning Bitcoin to support their financial needs and their family as well. It's always nice to see people's life getting change because of thr revolutionary Bitcoin.

God bless you people.

I hope one day I can teach about bitcoin to people around me. and they can feel the benefits of bitcoin as I do. but i still don't know much about bitcoin. and still learning. but the story from the OP is really motivational for me. to be more active in learning new things such as bitcoin. and so that I can teach others when someone asks me. because without knowledge we find it difficult to explain when someone else asks.

really admire OP's actions, not many people will have the courage to spend time teaching others

as long as you work hard, i believe that one day you will not only have a solid knowledge of bitcoin, but you will also be able to make a profit in this market. teaching others is not easy if we don't have enough knowledge, but i think you don't have to wait until you have enough knowledge or mature in the market to teach others. you can also start with your loved ones, let's learn bitcoin with them, teach them what you already know.  i think when we are the same, there is not too much difference in knowledge, learning together will promote us to progress very quickly. i used to do this when i was in school and found it quite effective in group study

I applaud your initiative and cooperation with the school administrator to bring Bitcoin lessons to their students, I am more happen that this education is targeted at young people at their o level and it will help them to build on the knowledge and advantages Bitcoin brings, am sure if the young ones are properly thought about finances and economic tools like Bitcoin, it will aid financial freedom in the future.

I hope to see more progress on this program and how you intend to create a good assessment of the students to know the level of interest in the subject matter.

Not only your country but many countries around the world have not yet accepted bitcoin as legal for some reason, but that is also the biggest barrier to the popularity of bitcoin to this day. Once the government legalizes bitcoin, I believe it is very simple to teach bitcoin to others or to include it in students' curricula.

By the way, congratulations and thank you for your contribution to making bitcoin more and more popular in the world. This is a small act but very respectful and worth learning, I am not a teacher and may not be as good at imparting knowledge as you are, but you gave me the motivation to teach bitcoin to everyone around me.

You did good OP with your effort to teach this phenomenal called Bitcoin to willing minds. I like it when people show willingness to learn something rather than being forced to it. You had willing students and a proprietress. I think it's even about time countries that allow Bitcoin introduced Bitcoin teaching to the secondary school curriculum as a matter of fact. We live in an interesting era where learning has gone passed the classroom to reality on ground. Bitcoin is a new reality.

It’s essential one for the future generation to learn about the crypto currency. Some schools already included the bitcoin as the one of the subject. So we need to include the technology into our academic. So the new generation will learn huge knowledge about the trading. They will start to trade once they get good knowledge till the academic. It’s essential for the future generation.

Education is the passport towards a brighter future- something that some take for granted. If there is something that cannot be taken away from you, that is your knowledge and character that you learned throughout your journey.

OP, your story really touches my heart. Your current situation does not hinder you from achieving your plans in creating a better tomorrow for those people. Despite the hardships and realities that we currently face, you have a steadfast attitude in order to achieve your goal.

Not only do you contribute in your society, but you also increase awareness in the cryptocurrency space- which makes you an unsung hero in spreading the innovations of cryptocurrency.

Thanks to the OP. There are many people in this world who devote themselves to philanthropy without looking out for their own interests like the OP. Also what the OP is doing is not an easy task. One day when those kids grow up to lead the nation they will spend their entire lives trying to keep Bitcoin at the top. Hope, the OP follows through on the responsibility he has taken.
Yeah making them aware at the early stage about this revolutionary technology and financial freedom in their hands could help them a lot in future if btc is available at that time as we can't say anything certain about future but being optimistic about it we can say that those children can do lot good things if they have knowledge about it.The @OP has done a great job but they should be given some basic understanding not too much technical part to burden them and slowly slowly they can have complete knowledge about it.But giving teaching to underprivileged one's is really a great work.

I salute you OP, this indeed is a great job you have done, very insightful and rewarding, my kind of persons normally does not comment on posts like this, I have seen many of this type of posts here from several users, but yours stood out for me, I personally love the picture where those teenagers are holding bitcoin letters each to make up the word "Bitcoin", I look at them, and I see a new generation of bitcoin users, and this is because someone like you (OP) brought the knowledge of this amazing asset to them at their very tender age...
Thank you and do keep the fire burning

I believe one of the student gonna be really interested in bitcoin after that , asking for more information and getting started to own some & test it out by themselves.
Why one? Why don't expect many of them?  Wink
I assume there will be many of them trying to know more about Bitcoin if they really understand Bitcoin potential for their future. OP has explained to them the advantage of Bitcoin and its features, I am sure many students interested in this part. Since they are the young generation with high curiosity, they probably have a high motivation to be a part of Bitcoin innovation.

That's a good start to make an impact , we needed more spirit soul like this so the bitcoin adoption could get realized faster than what we thought.
Sure, it is a good start. Educating people about the truth of Bitcoin will make people aware of Bitcoin potential. Previously, people only know the bad sides of Bitcoin. With an education of Bitcoin at schools, we can expect that in the future most people will know the truth about Bitcoin. They are no longer easily influenced by FUDs. And with this way, it is expected for more demand/interest on Bitcoin.

Bitcoin information has been circulates to every country and i believe that the information of will reach to the grassroot, and the only possible way Bitcoin can reach to the grassroots is through passing the information to young adults, this is the best method someone can impact the knowledge of bitcoin to the pupil and to adults, many nations localities is now knowing what's Bitcoin is all about.

I am very proud of the OP's sincerity to teach them about Bitcoin. For kids to learn about bitcoin in an uncensored way, this is an excellent start. They benefit from having a basic understanding of bitcoin, as most of the students are under 18 years old, they will not be able to take responsibility for the return on their bitcoin investment. Most of them can bet that their education will not end after paying their tuition in bitcoins. I believe this is a huge success, and I hope that by coming here they will be more inclined to understand Bitcoin learning and understanding.

Way to go OP!
She just made the best decision when she said she wants to make a difference in terms of education.
We can read books about Bitcoin, but it's totally different when someone with actual experience long enough to teach these students what and how Bitcoin works.
You could've offered your rate easily but choose not to, such an amazing role model. This could be your stepping stone in the path of teaching students about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin.

Maybe on the other side, someone is promoting his scam investment platform using cryptocurrencies but the OP made a clear distinction already and those kids can also educate their parents or siblings about it, later on, to warn them from getting scammed.

I am also planning to make a comeback in teaching the students about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in various universities starting next month. But this time, I'm joining forces with a co-founder of an all-women team of an NFT project in the Philippines to educate the masses in a local area.

It's been like almost 3 years since my last physical crypto education event in one of the universities at the nation's capital. I'm just happy seeing others in the forum sharing their stories, plans, etc., to educate students, communities, etc., about Bitcoin.

I give support to you because of the high initiative to share cryptocurrency knowledge in the school environment, your activity deserves appreciation because you left other jobs to teach "what is cryptocurrency" in school curriculum, they are still productive age to understand the explanation about bitcoin because I believe some they already have a basic understanding of Bitcoin but they need a teacher to help them get to know the world of Cryptocurreny, your presence as a teacher is the solution for them. I'm sure your activities will inspire others to do the same. btw happy birthday to you.
These kids should always be taught with genuine knowledge that they can always apply in the future and bitcoin is not an exception to it. Since bitcoin is here to stay, so these young and innocent minds should always know how to access bitcoin and store them for investments or for payment methods purposes. So good job OP as you can be their inspiration in building more opportunities with bitcoin in the future. Kudos for a good initiative and well job done.

It's very rare these days to volunteer to teach bitcoin to the community for free. At least that's a good gift you gave to students and other teachers about learning bitcoin.

That's a good experience for your birthday dude, you planted an idea among the students there, not all of them will be able to absorb your understanding of bitcoin, but I believe that eventually there will be and there will be knowledge of bitcoin and will also learn how to earn here. yes that's how it is, so with so many people giving lessons about crypto trading, then I'm sure in the future people will advance in their crypto trading knowledge. because more and more people are teaching about bitcoin and crypto trading. so I'm sure in the future those who are interested in investing in bitcoin and crypto will progress.
giving a teaching lesson about Bitcoin from schools to us bitcoin users and supporters? i think this is a privilege that we must agreed , I love seeing this kind of topic when there are very few specially in 3rd world country that offers or asks about this.
If i am giving this opportunity with my little knowledge about bitcoin? extending to other crypto as will?
surely it will be a pleasure to my part conducting such thing, and will extend also my effort for the whole community near that place.

I don't know why I'm always amazed when people start introducing Crypto to children at school age because this is indeed one of the really good things to do, I also really want to do something like this in my area but for now it seems like this is a very good thing. like it still can't be done properly considering that currently in my area bitcoin is still considered a taboo even though there are already some areas that are already familiar with crypto but the place I live in is still quite taboo and Crypto is still in a negative stigma.

We all here are happy seeing someone like you spreading the good work of Satoshi to these wonderful, brilliant, and beautiful ss2 students about Bitcoin, because indeed children are the leaders of tomorrow, and teaching them now at this age about Bitcoin, really means the future of Bitcoin is bright. It's hard this day getting to see schools that introduced Tech/Cryptocurrency & coding in their curriculum to build up these children to the current trends in society, of which it only takes schools who have the kids at heart to do what this school just did, and i thank you for your voluntary effort.

Really Impressed reading through this thread. This is a very interesting and nice endeavour you have really going on there, would also want to do something like this in my local community. So many young minds are really tech savvy and should be nurtured at the very young age and introduced to things like Blockchain and it's benefits. If they start learning at this young age, it will grow their interest in technology and other similar things. Kudos on the good job.

It might get overwhelming at first, since the forum has plenty to offer though knowing that OP's friends could have already had their knowledge ready to hop into discussion in here, then that could be okay though it would be great if their knowledge would also stretch out to at least the technicalities of Bitcoin and Altcoin if they wish.

Would be nice if OP's friend would hop into the forum once the new forum software is live.

the bitcoin community needs people like you, not many do this and that's commendable, if there's anything you want to ask about bitcoin that you don't know, ask in this forum because you can learn anything about bitcoin here, keep up the good work

These days people don't have time for others and I really appreciate that OP is doing all this voluntarily for the benefit of his own community.
I do hope that OP tells everyone about this forum, so these learners come on this forum too and gain future knowledge about bitcoins and crypto currencies.
yes in addition the OP can also invite the people he teaches to join this forum, because maybe they can find new knowledge and others that can be obtained here, always support good things if someone wants to share their time with others

This is fantastic; you've done great work. It's inspiring that you take time out of your day to teach young children about bitcoin. As you teach them about bitcoin, I'd like to highlight one point. Once you've taught them how to own a bitcoin, try to educate them on its security. Inform them of the dangers of not properly securing their passwords and key phrases. Scammers are constantly looking for new methods to take advantage of newbies in today's digital world.

Your good deeds escalated in a good way man! It seems that your community is interested in taking part on your voluntary needs. Apart from teaching the same class again about bitcoin, There's a high chance that you will be invited again on a different school or teach bitcoin on your community given that your students might share their knowledge about bitcoin to their parents and also be interested in learning more about bitcoin/cryptocurrency. This proves that small good deeds can be a gateway to a better opportunity in spreading good things.

Kudos, OP and happy belated Birthday by the way! I have not managed to stumble upon this thread earlier as I was busy, but we really appreciate your hard work on teaching about Bitcoin. I've been looking forward to do it myself one day, but eh whatever.
I hope your teachings would soon be applied be the students and I would be looking forward on your next update either here in the thread or in a new thread on how did it go to those students and how far they had learned more. Smiley

Thanks to everyone that encouraged me,I must say you have motivated me to do more in spreading Bitcoin awareness. The next peoples I need to give the awareness to are advanced people, I mean like from age of 40yrs and above to see how they will feel towards using bitcoin. I am working on it now.

 Thanks to you all !!!!!!
That would be really nice! Will you do a separate thread or just do an update in the OP?

Mazel tov to you, man. It's really encouraging to hear this. According to the statistics from the threads, participants range in age from 15 to  30. Personally, I think this is brilliant because you need to catch them while they are still young. Youth are capable of making a significant difference in their community, especially at the grass-roots level. You did a good job, OP. Well done.

What a good initiative you did there. Just continue spreading awareness about bitcoin in your place.

Anyways, on that 1 1/2 hour of bitcoin class, you managed, do all students still at focus and showing interest to learn more until the end? If this is the first time they heard of it, they might end up not interested at the start of the class. How's their approach to bitcoin? How did you start your class in a way that all of them will focus and listen to their new subject?

Thanks for giving your time there despite your busy work schedule. Keep it up!

I, as a person who invests in bitcoin, feel happy reading your topic and I think this is really very extraordinary, and I hope that in the future there will be more people like you, who give lessons about bitcoin to students and the public. that way I'm sure there will be many of them who are interested in investing in bitcoin, and I think the economy will definitely be helped a lot because they invest in bitcoin.

Way to go, man!

You're doing an amazing spread for the word of bitcoin up to this point that you're going to official teach in a school. Not everyone does this for their own sake but as what you're doing, you're showing genuine passion to teach everyone about bitcoin.

Happy birthday to you!

Good luck to you and to everyone that's helping you on this progress.

To be honest, I might be the only one who feels this way but I don’t see how this is necessary. Which money would they use to invest after they’ve been taught?

Hey Mate! It's actually not a bad decision to lecture kids and children about investing but, investing in Bitcoin is something that shouldn't be forced upon. I doubt of they can understand how the Bitcoin market moves really, so it's useless forcing them invest. as a post I read from Franky 1 in the forum here which say's,teach people bout Bitcoin but don't bforce them to invest.

You can show real life use of Bitcoin though by transfering some little amounts of Bitcoin, also it's good to tell them about the merits of Bitcoin amd not just about investment, the most mandatory shit bout Bitcoin for me is that, everyone can be his/her own bank with Bitcoin. It's just that massive adoption hasn't really gone wide.

OP! I did some stuffs like this also, but mine was within a park in another state. ( Akwa Ibom ) in Nigeria. Posting stickers of Become your own Bank with Bitcoin on Motorcycle's and Buses. Thanks for using your time and energy to promote Bitcoin.

Beautiful Belated Birthday Wishes Buddie!!

Great initiative, it only remains to add the impulse of the emotion of seeing something like what you are doing, of a great value of enthusiasm, I even find it inspiring that perhaps you teach with the entrance of natural light ...hopefully the enthusiasm will be maintained over time and the future conditions of the teaching space will improve.

There will come a time when everyone will have knowledge about Bitcoin. As the country is developing, the standard of living of the people is improving.People will want what people think easily now.But in the future Bitcoin will take place in everyone's mind and will spread all over the world. But best wishes and love to everyone who is working on such steps in the school.Such initiative is the best initiative to make Bitcoin stronger.
And when bitcoin achieves its goal on global adoption in the future, then it will become a significant part on the lives of the people. That is why teaching these students these days is a way of preparing them in the future as they can have an edge over the others since they have known bitcoin earlier and have the chances to share their knowledge to other students or to their family and loved ones. All of this will be credited to you OP as you always think what’s the best for the students. Kudos to you OP and a very happy birthday.

Back then in primary school, my teacher will always sing to us that "children are the leaders of tomorrow". If children are the leaders of tomorrow I believe they are meant to be taught the right thing that will help their future. Since those student are getting  to learn Bitcoin at their age, is really going to do them good.
You are fabulous 🤩 OP, and happy birthday to you.
What a cool teacher you have. I think your teacher does that only to remind you guys that you hold the future and that should help you do well in your class. Children are still young so they need to be taught the right thing because if wrong things are being taught to them, they will adopt it until they grow older but I think it's always not too late too change even if you are already old.

There is no age requirements for getting involved in bitcoin but I think there are more benefits if you got involved in it in an earlier time so it's important to have btc as a subject in schools so that kids can get aware with it and they can also start saving btc as early as possible.

Your birthday was worth celebrating. This is the best gift you can give to the young generation.

This initiative is commendable. I love it when I see members of this forum help in spreading the knowledge of crypto to their locality. Bitcoin teaching can't be taught in a day, just try to make out time in your leisure days to be handling them in crypto classes. Let's start by catching them young.

In Africa the adoption is taking place in a much faster way than the other part of the world. It shows, this part of the world is in much need of bitcoin against the inflated currencies. Many African countries have good resources, but the corruption and the worst management makes survival difficulties.
Africans are left with no other choice than to embrace this adoption because it's not just inflation that has eaten up her economy but also poor standard of living and the only hedge over inflation has it stands is Bitcoin to a large extent.

Accepting technology at her age in Africa is something to reckon. Many of her age grade still believe it must always be done the traditional way of banking and keeping your funds with the government for safety. It takes an open mind of her age to embrace a currency that has no physical representation which is something worthy of full credit

My birthday was fun teaching these students,I had to take this pictures for remembrance and to also show to forum members to update you about  this. I need your contributions or observations, advice to my passion of spreading Bitcoin in my locality.
You did a good job Frankolala and the impact of this selfless service might not be evident now but in a few years, the effect would be glaring. You might have ignited the zeal of most of these students to begin to appreciate and study further about Bitcoin. Your service is selfless because, from the picture, it is clear that most of the students are from low-income homes because the schools lack basic amenities. This shows that nobody is paying you for this service but one day these students would remember your kind gestures and reward you for it.  I have been teaching for over 10 years and I sometimes see my students unexpectedly paying my bills on public buses or even in restaurants. Even one of my students has promised to change my car. Bro. keep the fire of selfless service burning.

The practical class is important but before the class introduce them to privacy and cybersecurity. They should not also invest in Bitcoin until they have understood risk management. They must also know that Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme but a viable alternative to fiat and a good investment platform. Most of them are teenagers, hence you can advice them to introduce Bitcoin to their parents. They must also know the difference between Bitcoin and other shitcoins. They must know that if it is not Bitcoin, it is shitcoins.

Very good job and I wish you success with this, recently we see many people teaching bitcoin in many places like schools and even church to other people which is nice to see especially when we see people are doing this for free, in my idea you could give some free food and free money to these people and help them have a better day but instead of that you are giving them free knowledge about sometimes they can earn money from it which is much better than doing anything else, I hope to see even more of this event but from the government's side in schools.

It’s great to see someone like you being passionate to educate the masses about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Keep doing that not just for schools, but for communities around the corner who were either uninformed or misinformed about Bitcoin.

I might be returning to become a keynote speaker in some universities again in probably a month or two, depending on the arrangement and schedule with the help of my new colleagues. Since we’re moving on from COVID-19 and may likely be just turning into an endemic later on, it’s time to get back into action to something that I am passionate on which is to be on the stage again in front of the students and the community to educate them about Bitcoin.

That was a welcoming event for crypto and I see how many wanted to know more about Bitcoin and are willing to spend their time learning. I really appreciate what you did OP and I say that only a few people have that kind of passion and willingness to teach people who have the desires to learn about this. I know it was a big success and hoping for these people will gain more interest in investing in crypto and make their long journey here as well.

Likely, if this will actually been done is school, more and more people will adopt Bitcoin and fully understand how it works and its importance.

That's a good idea, by teaching secondary school students about Bitcoin as a digital assets payment, through investment and trading, while mining as well to earn Bitcoin, and this will give many of them opportunity to be educated and Bitcoin, which as lattle as secondary school students to invest on on Bitcoin worth of $50 and hold, after his/her educational level, which takes eight to ten years from now, the Bitcoin we grow on imaginable as a return investment profit.

This is a great innovation especially for those that are still coming up to learn about Bitcoin and how to save their funds using the Bitcoin network than normal fiat. This is a great attempt to spread Bitcoin to others so that they can learn about how it works which could make Bitcoin more popular and known.
I don't know how frequently op will keep teaching the students about Bitcoin but this need to be a consistent efforts so that those that had been thought would not see it as a joke or easily forget about it since they don't know how to buy it and save it securely.

I feel really happy to see such threads where bitcoin teaching is given to some students making them aware about the current financial technology we are in and true power of decentralisation. Also appreciate the women who asked you to be part of it and helping children to learn something really new and useful for their future lives. We should always take steps to help these children who don't have access to technology but education is the thing which should be given to all.

To be honest, I might be the only one who feels this way but I don’t see how this is necessary. Which money would they use to invest after they’ve been taught?
It's not about investment obviously but more importantly awareness to the children and giving them education on the topic which is entirely new for them. But if we say practically third world countries lag smart phone usage and internet facility also being in low income segment so does it mean they should not be given education about it also?

If your pipsqueak brain would think instead of talking nonsense, it wouldn't think about whether it's necessary or not, it would think about how positive it is. There are many things that are not necessary that have a very positive impact on society.

In this case I thank the OP for teaching about bitcoin in that school on his birthday. I live in a developed country and I can't even imagine something like that happening here. I'm sure we would have complaints.

As far as I can see that school is in Nigeria, and although it is a less developed country, and despite having a government against it, the use of bitcoin is quite widespread, so as soon as those students get their first jobs it is very likely that they will use bitcoin.

That's a good initiative taken by the school to make the kids aware of bitcoin and crypto currencies. Hope you didn't get too much into complicated aspects of crypto currencies.

By the way, volatility isn't a feature of bitcoin. Probably a feature of "any" market, but not specific to bitcoin. Also, if you lose your "password" you don't lose your coins as long as you have access to your private keys or the phrase.

Esther C, I think you need to take a look at the economic situation at current and you will understand the necessity of teaching those student about Bitcoin. I really can not tell how old you are now or your level of study, but imagine if you had learn about Bitcoin  6 years back, either in secondary school or social gatherings and you bought then?
Is better they learn about Bitcoin now. forget about the money they can use to invest. Assuming I am one of those student, I can beg my parents to assist me with little money and I will use it to invest.  Recession is striking so hard and everyone needs to learn what can help them earn a living.

For example: during the COVID-19 pandemic, my state was on lock down and I was stoped from work with little pay. I had to feed from my Bitcoin investment. Imagine if I had not known anything about crypto currency? Perhaps if I had not invested into Bitcoin before then, I might have even spent all the money invested into Bitcoin.

To be honest, I might be the only one who feels this way but I don’t see how this is necessary. Which money would they use to invest after they’ve been taught?
Bitcoin isn’t an investment scheme. There are people who see bitcoin as only investment, there are others who are much more concerned about the technology and the mission of a decentralized digital currency. The knowledge being passed to these students at this early stage will be their crypto foundation.

Happy Birthday, OP! May you live a healthy, bitcoin filled life.

As to your classes -
I have some ideas for you, if you like:

  • I think if you post your teaching materials and teaching plans in this thread, we can help you with fine-tuning the details. Brainsourcing from Bitcointalk can be a quite powerful teaching tool, I believe.
  • A good idea would be teaching them risk management and not to sell on emotion first and foremost. Or they might lose all their money like panicky newbies.
  • Also, if you gather donations for, lets say, about $1-5 worth of Bitcoin to each student, they can explore how Bitcoin works for themselves. (Think of it as homework which also gives rewards)

Wow!!! Frankolala, what a wonderful work done. I really appreciate what you have done like me. Your birthday gift is nice. You really tried by introducing bitcoin to the school. Your effort will not be forgotten. Keep up the fire. Let the fire burning to everyone in your locality. Mostly the market women. Teaching bitcoin in school is one of the best things every teacher should do because the spreading of bitcoin to everyone is needed. According to a saying that "teachers reward is in heaven" but I don't believe that, that is true. Your reward will given on Earth. Please also look for a way to teach them the practical aspect of the theory. So that can or will understand well the topic. Bitcoin classes need practical. If there is no practical, most of them will not understand your teaching. Even phone use it for the practical aspect.

Happy birthday.

Great job OP what have did you do by teaching your student about bitcoin is most important because nowadays bitcoin have been digital currency transaction adapting by global community. You spent your time teaching your student about bitcoin and applause you not only explain with advantage from bitcoin but also you explained about disadvantage side with bitcoin.

I think become alternative side job by your student later after graduate because they have know with bitcoin and get chance how to earn money with bitcoin trough as investment or trying become influencer and adapting bitcoin as payment currency transaction. Little suggestion maybe you can teach them using computer and show directly with exchange market how to withdraw and deposit bitcoin trough cash money. You can recommended for your student about which one recommended exchange market for registering.

I am at first really surprised that we can teach cryptocurrency in a school. This may not be easy and may not be able ti implemented in any country. In my country, it is like impossible to bring or teach cryptocurrency tot he school because of the very tough regulation and curriculum. Moreover, cryptocurrency is still debatable and causes pros and cons. That is why commonly it is not, except that it is for college in the campus with certain program study. Or this is done for a certain program, an extra program of a university or academy, to have a certain seminar or workshop about it related to crypto.

That is why I really appreciate and feel so happy to see how many more people are able to teach others and introduce them to Bitcoin. I know that this may not be easy moreover if they are really not familiar with the technology. That is why it mayneeds certain continuity for the teaching process.

My applause, OP. You have made yourself an unforgettable gift for your birthday. It is very nice to know that there are altruists like you in the world who donate their time to children for free. Nowadays, when the world counts every second, you take time off from work in order to educate children about Bitcoin for free. I really hope that you were able to interest them. But I want to believe that your lessons will not end with an hour and a half of lectures. Children are quickly distracted, and if their interest is not maintained, one lesson will remain one that can be forgotten.
I sincerely wish that the younger generation starts looking to the future with the confidence that they can achieve the best in their lives, and thank you, OP, for taking such kind steps.
Happy birthday!
I guess this will make your birthday more satisfying and even memorable on your part knowing you have unlock one of your missions in this world, and that is to share your knowledge to the young minds who have no ideas about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. If we can teach the people about bitcoin, I guess it will be better to chose these young generation as they can be our great successors in the future. Good luck OP on your endeavor and I wish you happy birthday, and hope you made a huge impact on the children’s innocent minds.

Great initiative Frankolala.

Just one small input, there is no specifics as to how many people "created" Bitcoin. Satoshi could be one person or a group, but with no accuracy, we cannot say Bitcoin was created by a group.
There were people who assisted somewhat, but they cannot be accredited to have created Bitcoin.

the bitcoin community needs people like you, not many do this and that's commendable, if there's anything you want to ask about bitcoin that you don't know, ask in this forum because you can learn anything about bitcoin here, keep up the good work

These days people don't have time for others and I really appreciate that OP is doing all this voluntarily for the benefit of his own community.
I do hope that OP tells everyone about this forum, so these learners come on this forum too and gain future knowledge about bitcoins and crypto currencies.
Yes, it should have been included at least for them to know about more Bitcoin but i dont know if its effective considering on status on life which they might not really be having their mobile phones too?
Sorry if im wrong since it would be just presumption but if they do have access via mobile phone and does have net then it would really be resulting into that kind of curiosity which would really be adding
up into their interest on what BItcoin is all about. Good initiative and something recommendable on what OP have done on here. This is something  that not everyone would be doing
and this is purely a voluntary action just to spread up awareness. Good job!

Congratulations Frankola for this good move and happy birthday, I wish you more years and endless grace.

I observed where you mentioned that one of the disadvantages of bitcoin is volatility and you also said one can earn a living by trading bitcoin. It is a big contradiction. Volatility of bitcoin is more of an advantage than disadvantage. If bitcoin was to be a stable coin, majority of us wouldn't be here.

Good work OP. Nice to see you adding the knowledge you already have about Crypto-currency to your locality. Since many people have started to develop the interest of spreading Crypto-currency knowledge to their community I think it's time we had a discussion on what really need to be taught to kids about Crypto-currency.

I was recently in a soft argument with someone about teaching the younger ones about crypto-currency but he asked why teach something to kids when they aren't of the legal age to even own or perform crypto-currency transactions, although I have been in Crypto for a while now but I have not really thought there is any age restrictions to that, I don't know if the restrictions is different in other countries.

I think educating the younger ones about crypto-currency should not be extensive, I think just like the OP has taught those kids we should adhere to it by teaching them the basis, personally I think anyone else teaching kids about owning a wallets, performing transactions on exchanges and even trading is leading them astray going by their age.

The effort taken is getting recognised and people are interested to learn more about it. If not, the principal wouldn't have taken the flyer and reached OP to teach the kids about bitcoin. The world is changing, and to the transition happening around we need to get used to it. For many people, bitcoin seems to be completely new. With the spreading about it through some means awareness is getting better over every part of the world. Congratulations OP for the efforts and the good thing done to the school children.

Inviting you was a good move by the school adminstrative department. This shows that they have good intentions for the students and would want them to be updated with the new innovation and technologies evolving. If schools could take such step , I think there would be fast and rapid adoption by the citizens of each country and that would create room for easy integration of Bitcoin into every nations. You have done well and it would be nice you take this step forward to other schools within your region so other students can easily assimilate as this is the prime age for them to quickly get the Knowledge of blockchain and Bitcoin as a whole.

I have seen a number of posts here in bitcointalk where people are giving fee lessons about bitcoins in their area and this trend is growing too.
What is even more positive is that there are many people who want to learn about bitcoin and therefore those who teach bitcoin get such a positive response.

I am really happy to see the pictures which OP shared. This also shows that people are willing to change and move towards the digital currency adaption.

I must commend your kind deeds towards educating the younger ones about bitcoin and its importance. Seeing them as the leaders of tomorrow, the knowledge you have impacted on them today will forever be in them as most of them will aspire to get more information and knowledge about bitcoin after now. For taking out your time and energy even on your birthday to do this selfless service you have done well believe me the children are happy and I can see the excitement on their faces.

I hope you recommended some bitcoin books for them to read to have more knowledge of bitcoin?
 Happy birthday buddy.

Yes, that is why some countries has started making Bitcoin textbook available for their students to study so that they will know what Bitcoin is all about and how to use it positively in a way it will bring progress and development to the country. Country like El Salvador has introduced Bitcoin textbook to their students so that they will not find it difficult how to make a huge amount of profit from their Bitcoin investment in the future. Since many countries in the world has started making Bitcoin legal in their land, show that very soon they will like to follow the steps El Salvador government took to make Bitcoin textbook available in every area of the country for their students to have knowledge of Bitcoin.

Happy Birthday! I think it was wonderful that you spent this day doing something that great, teaching students about Bitcoin. I hope the practical class will go nicely as well. I can see from the photos that you seem to be a great teacher. You look bright, confident, lively. Hopefully, you'd get to engage with people by teaching them about Bitcoin more. Since it's a private school, though, I think it would be alright to take some money out of it, so that they don't feel guilty you did it for free and so that you get a little treat out of it. But volunteering it also a nice thing to do, so I guess it's cool you agreed to do it.
