Thanks for the input guys.

Something to consider as LtMotioN states, Bitcoin and crypto are
being constantly judged by their fiat value and market cap but
its the underlying real world revelance and adoption which are the
important factors if it is to carry into the future.

I dont know anything about "programmable streaming money" though.

Another factor I totally overlook on a daily basis is the possibility
to earn rewards particularly if you have a skill.

In my case I have completed a few Graphic Design jobs and received
payment in Crypto, isnt that a perfect example of Satoshi's creation?

Peer-to-Peer payment, no banks or middlemen involved

I've definitely seen this before. 2014 was a real tough year to make any sort of profits in cryptocurrency because Bitcoin fell from over $1000 (the 2013 high) to down to $200 and it stayed there for MONTHS! Now, the price goes down, but then it bounces back up. Not only that, there are so many truly high quality altcoins out there, many of which perform even better than Bitcoin. The best thing I ever did cryptowise was start looking into those altcoins even while I felt overwhelmed just learning about Bitcoin!

Profits are nice and all, but I also really have enjoyed and benefited from all the networking I've been able to do in this industry. It's young enough that an ordinary participant could be on a first name basis with the founder of the next amazing coin or other project.

If you have a skill to offer, such as writing or programming or graphic design, you can offer your services in exchange for cryptocurrencies. In that case, you can get a lot more cryptocoins when the prices are all depressed than you would when the prices are high. So now's a great time to hang out your shingle in the cryptospace, so to seak.

In times of bad pricing we should remind ourselves why we are bitcoin adopters. I got in on this initially hoping to clear off my debt, as I got more and more all in on bitcoin I started understanding the use cases for cryptocurrency.

This stuff will change the world. If we all take a bit of time to think about the possibilities for cryptocurrency the price becomes irrelevant. I get excited when I think about programmable streaming money. A more inclusive economy will bring prosperity to many across the world.

It is easy to judge the state of bitcoin by it's price, but I think that's a wrong way to look at it. Stay part of this space, help build the new free world. Getting money is a byproduct - an added perk, it shouldn't be the goal.

This will be huge, give cryptocurrency some time.

Well, we might not be Smiley But you take your positivity where you can find it. Make sure to post a picture of your Lamborghini here!!

I really like this thread!

(EDIT: I don't know whether to share my story or not. In short, I ended up with $30 I didn't know I had, and I am building on that now. There are a few upsetting things along the way though... I'll mull it over Smiley )

@ Alexander_Z, that is a great story.

I hope this thread can be a place where everyone from Newbies to Sr.Members
can discover some historical experiences others have had and learn not to
let the current state of crypto turn people away but instead to keep faith.

Positivity? All right  Smiley

This account may have the 'Newbie" rank, but I discovered bitcoin in early 2011. I have seen it fall from $30 to $2 and then, in late 2011, I thought it was dead. Fortunately, I did not sell a few coins I mined then - they cost almost nothing and were a curiosity. Then there was another bubble and another crash, when Mt.Gox went bankrupt. I held. The subsequent 'crypto winter' was so uneventful and boring that I almost forgot about bitcoin. I did not bother to check the price and sync the wallet for months, but I felt that maybe it is not dead. In 2016 some signs of revival appeared and 2017 was an exciting year. The latest crash to $6k? I hold. Maybe it's not the bottom, maybe we will experience another 'crypto winter', but this time I'm almost sure that bitcoin is not dead. It is very likely that eventually there will be another surge which is going to astonish almost everyone.

I'm not seasoned or long invested by any means but I have watched the stock market for years. It goes up and it goes down. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. When it's down is a great time to find bargains that were too high to buy before.

In these current times of FUD, doom and gloom and manipulation I am
creating this thread to invite seasoned forum members along to post
record their positivity for others to read and take inspiration from.

There are a lot of members here with many years experience, who have
seen very bleak times in Bitcoin and crypto and as far as i know this
current situation is not the first time Bitcoin has suffered a fall.

It would be nice for us newcomers to hear some real life positivity based
on real life experience and not on some report driven by 'likes and follows'
or manipulation.
