Some of the promotional material:

"People, you better make it! The most important day in bitcoin!"
"Bitcoin is 5"
"The bar accepts bitcoin, so don't forget to bring your bitcoin wallets!"
"I heard bitcoiners are rich, so the beer will flow, the music will flow... Sex, drugs and rock n' roll!"

"You've heard about it, we've gone on about it, and now it's celebrating!"
"Satoshi and friends are inviting you to a party that's all bitcoin!"
"So if you want to see what this whole bitcoin thing is, out of curiosity or just for a good time, remember: 31/10 at the October bar."

Now, I know there will be heated debate if Bitcoin's birthday is 31st of October or January 3rd, but there's no reason not to celebrate both the whitepaper and the blockchain!

(The whitepaper is the real bitcoin)
Bitcoin is Bitcoin. It was conceived on Oct 31, it was born on Jan 3.

Bitcoin was conceived in Satoshi's words few years before he contacted cypherpunks mailing list. Whitepaper was written after the working prototype (in Satoshi's own words). It was just to discuss the concept before he committed to any particular design choices. Whitepaper did not contain much technological details, nor even some built-in limits like 21 million BTC top or linear inflation. It's only about theoretical basics of blockchain.

The only true Bitcoin is what was released to mine blocks starting with genesis block and evolved ever since.

UDATE:
'twas awesome. We probably had a few dozen people show up. All 40 paper wallets were handed out (not to community members!), a homemade ATM was selling bitcoins, we lit a cake, and we learnt how big and engaged the Israeli community is. Channel 10 came to cover the event and they will run the piece next Saturday evening on prime-time news. Thanks to everyone who showed up!

==============================

We are planning Bitcoin's 5th birthday party (31/10) in Tel Aviv at the October Bar and it would be an honor if you could join us.

There's an event on Facebook, you're welcome to open a Facebook account and click the "attending" button. We are going to have a chair reserved for you, we hope you can make it! Oh, and don't forget to bring the private key for the coinbase of block #1. You know, so that you can cryptographically prove you've come to celebrate your awesome creation Smiley

Good music, lots of beer, and we have a bunch of goodies and surprises for those who come. Bring your bitcoin wallet, the bar accepts bitcoin. All bitcoiners are welcome, and also add your own personal formal invitation for Satoshi Nakamoto!
