Maybe that is what a lot of people are thinking about gold and silver too. I say no, people don't give a shit about bitcoin or gold or silver they care about food and electricity,

Food and electricity are not medium of exchanges and people DO care about medium of exchanges.

Says who?.. yeah kilowatt hours can be a medium of exchange and food has been once since the dawn of man. Get real bro. Bitcoin over food  Roll Eyes
I want my currency backed by a commodity basket standard, bitcoin doesn't have the only ideas for currency innovations and won't be the only consideration during a failure, I think people would much rather have an energy standard than a bitcoin standard.

So what will take bitcoin mainstream instantly?

I want to Quote the Great economist Milton Friedman

"Only a crisis - actual or perceived - produces real change. When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. That, I believe, is our basic function: to develop alternatives to existing policies, to keep them alive and available until the politically impossible becomes the politically inevitable.”

Should there be a crisis? a global crisis in which people around the world crave for bitcoin?
