According to the rules, bumping/update posts are not allowed more than once every 24 hours.

However, it doesn't mention someone else bumping a topic. It also doesn't mention that a bump only refers to OP bumps. So while it's not the OP bumping, I do believe it's against the rules.

It means you are gonna bump a thread every five minutes which I do not think it allowed by the forum rules. So, if anyone wants to do that then be the guest of the forum.
It's probably legal, but any decent mod will just delete the thread if he sees it.
