Hi,

I think "capodieci" dev at the nxtforum.org is working on reputation system. You may contact him for more information. It is part of of the DeBuNe project afaik.

Yup  Grin Roberto = Capod...

At least two new Core devs have joined Nxt (Roberto, Yudi and team). That takes us to 11+ now  Cool

Roberto and team will be implementing Global Collaboration and Reputation System, the start of a whole new branch of the Nxt Technology Tree, whoop  Grin

I think JL777 created a web of trust solution in Nxt Freemarket (decentralised ebay)  but you'd have to check. He spent a lot of time talking about it with Anon136 but not sure what the outcome was > http://nxtfreemarket.com/

Ah, I understand now. I'm not sure that is an Altcoin thing... I think it would be useful to many people. There are many types of services like that already, though... Heatware comes immediately to mind, but I know there are others.

I guess I'm not understanding what reputation you're trying to catalog then, if not "is this coin valuable or not?" Can you elaborate on that?

Oh sorry,

A system where each user would have reputation, similar to what you have on a forum. People could have some minimum level of trust and know whose person to approach if they wanted to buy or sell something. For example, you wouldn't lend your bitcoins to a user with a bad reputation, however if you knew someone was a respectable user you probably are more inclined to loan then (assuming they're paid with interest).

Hope I explained it clear enough now  Smiley

There's an easy way to see if a coin is useless or not. Simply look at it, see if it's BTC and if it isn't, it's useless, except in an academic sense. If it's anything other than BTC it's a shitcoin and you can learn from it, but that's pretty much all it's good for.

i'm not asking which coins are useless or not. I was asking if someone knew any project doing Reputation Systems and also telling people there is no need to reinvent the wheel. Invest your resources somwhere else where they're needed like that stuff

There are so many altcoins, some are useless, others are scams and the great part is just reinventing the wheel and doing stuff others have already done. I would like to know if there is someone doing or planning on building a reputation system?

This could open new unexplored markets in the cryptouniverse.

I've seen this company bonafide trying to do it for bitcoin. If im not mistaken, the user could link their fb, github, twitter, reddit and other stuff to their account and according to their social reach, they would have some reputation. Then other users could also add to their reputation. I think i read that somewhere, but even so, is there someone trying to go for this?

People could finally buy stuff once decentralized markets come (obviously not linking rl identity here) with a little more peace of mind. Lending could be done too, there are so many possibilities here.
