The faulty transactions were reset and disappeared 48 hours after they were issued.

Everything's good now! Thanks for the help everyone!

Thank you for the clarification.

What is bugging me is why the transactions never reached any external block explorers, and don't show up anywhere else, except on Blockchain.info?

What causes this to happen?

I don't get it.

Why will I wait weeks? Isn't a transaction that is unconfirmed for a period of 2-3 days automatically "forgotten" by the network, and thus reset completely? It cannot just hang there indefinitely until a miner takes pity on it and confirms it - as far as I know, this isn't how Bitcoin works.

That response from the Blockchain support also says it could take a maximum of 7 days tops.

you will only need to wait for few days (maybe 2-3 as you say) and the network will eventually drop your transaction but the problem is IF blockchain.info wallet automatically rebroadcasted your transaction with the same inputs and miners fee (atleast this is what happens to my transaction in the past using old blockchain.info wallet) tho I'm not sure about the new blockchain.info if they will still rebroadcast your transaction automatically.

If ever your sending transactions got dropped in the network, you can try CPFP, just spend the unconfirmed inputs and pay much higher fees this time so miners will need to confirm the first transaction first before getting your "high fee" transaction (I'm just not sure if this still works until today)

You will wait weeks. It's all depend on luck, If a miner picks your transaction in a block then it will confirm soon.If miner shows no sympathy to you will wait weeks or half a month.

You can pay a miner so he will add all your transaction to next block unless you want to wait couple of weeks.

The unconfirmed transactions will be "forgotten" by the Bitcoin network in a matter of a few days, though, right? Then they will reset back to the original owner's wallet.

It usually happens in 2-3 days after the money was spent, correct me, if I'm wrong? So all I gotta do is wait out for that to happen.

This is what I got as a response from Blockchain themselves:

Becoming legend, but I took merit to the knee :(
How can I reset this? When I sent the third transaction, it must have grabbed a small change from the unconfirmed FIRST transaction to me, and now the 40 bucks from the legitimate CONFIRMED payment I received are tied up and being unconfirmable as well?

How can I simply make this reset, drop out of the blockchain, so the sent btc is returned to whoever spent it in the first place ( those 40 bucks from the legitimate transaction will go back to my wallet, since it was confirmed )?

You still have not told us what wallet you were using, if it is blockchain.info wallet, please do not use it anymore, if you were using bitcoin core you should be able to use the zapwallettxes option. However if you are using the online wallet you might need to find support or someone else to help you. Double spending might help.

If you try to send the 0.03726477 btc from 1GGK3zYHYTjyrL1cxsZFYaDwnf36gcvZUH back to another address you own with a higher fee and it gets mined and confirmed by a miner your third unconfirmed tx should be voided. That is assuming you have control of 1GGK3zYHYTjyrL1cxsZFYaDwnf36gcvZUH

Yes, I am using Blockchain's web wallet. And yes, the address 1GGK3zYHYTjyrL1cxsZFYaDwnf36gcvZUH belongs to my wallet. But how can I resend it to another address - the funds are marked as gone, and I cannot reset them.

EDIT: Hold on, not sure if this is one of my addresses... Gotta check...

EDIT 2: Yes, this is indeed one of my own addresses.

Your only way now is to contact blockchain support, if they even exist or reply at all, please if you get your funds back, never ever use an online wallet ever again for anything whatsoever.

I understand. What about the 3rd transaction though? It was spent from an address that received a transaction that was indeed CONFIRMED. And it is still pending too.

Your third transaction had two input addresses, of which the first one https://blockchain.info/address/1QB6Dob23Y2uJme2H66TExwhRu5uG3zkSk

has more than 5 unconfirmed txs linking all the way back to the same tx as your first and second transactions, any more questions?

Appreciate the speedy response. I had no idea I actually have to deal with setting the miner's fee by myself - never had an issue with Blockchain confirmations so far, always using the recommended fee ( thought that was calculated in real time, to accommodate network congestion ).

You being unable to find the transactions outside of Blockchain means they were never broadcasted, doesn't it? What can I possibly do to speed them up? If I had known I needed to set up the miner fee manually, I would have done so...

The initial transaction where you received https://blockchain.info/tx/883e646c1b988c3eae6872fc3dc947a158bef15a7126a7a71554b88a53a704e4 has not even been confirmed, you are trying to spend money which you do not have. And you are doing it for three txes each depending on the previous one.

Oh and fun fact, all transactions that you thing you had were never confirmed, all the way up quite some time, I followed the inputs up 2 levels, every single transaction were unconfirmed.

If you were promised some btcs from somewhere, call that person to fix his tx, because the initial transaction from someone wasnt confirmed, every single transaction onwards have been waiting for the first to complete, good luck

as iwantapony traced the last unconfirmed tx id to https://blockchain.info/tx/b78c05d752cf4b025b4bc165a20f8dec00e0e616b7f1816b4e71515264343927

I tried to send that tx using viabtc accelerator but the transaction wasnt found by viabtc or anywhere else. Seems like the inital tx wallet might have stopped broadcasting the transaction and it has falls out of the global transaction mempool (which might or might not have happened).

On a side note, with that 0.531 sat/B in fees for the traced tx, no miner would pick it up even in 10 years. There is a high chance it might have really been dropped of the global tx mempool

your transaction won't confirm until  this transaction confirms ~

It will take at least 2 weeks to confirm since such a low fee unless you paid someone to Confirm it for you.

Recommended fee by the blockchain wallet? As in which wallet?

Recommended fees these few days have been pretty much 180 - 200 sats per byte, not 120 like your wallet used, thousands of transactions are stuck at the 100-150 sats per byte level.

None of the transactions are found outside of blockchain.info, I tried helping you with the viabtc accelerator but all 3 were not found

Were you trying to double spend bitcoins?

The initial transaction where you received https://blockchain.info/tx/883e646c1b988c3eae6872fc3dc947a158bef15a7126a7a71554b88a53a704e4 has not even been confirmed, you are trying to spend money which you do not have.

Hey there, is any miner willing to lend me a hand and confirm those 3 transactions?

The first one here has been pending with 0 confirmations for about 20 hours now. Sent via Blockchain wallet, with the recommended miner's fee at the time - and yet nothing. No idea why.

https://blockchain.info/tx/883e646c1b988c3eae6872fc3dc947a158bef15a7126a7a71554b88a53a704e4

The second was initiated after I got the payment from the first, trying to exchange BTC to my exchanger. Been pending for 20 hours as well ( since the payment from the first one never confirmed ).

https://blockchain.info/tx/d140c2bf45ccf87a3bbb6beca22cf250efe7ab7c3053b4cf36465b1b4ca51c4e

The third transaction was initiated about 9 hours ago. The payment for it was confirmed successfully - but not via a Blockchain wallet, it was sent from somewhere else. Again, tried exchanging it to my BTC exchanger, sent via my Blockchain wallet - recommended fee again, almost 9 hours in - 0 confirmations.

What the fuck?

If someone's willing to lend a hand, that would be lovely.
