CAUTION: Angry Man with Attitude.
Completely agree, do your homework and be safe. Lots of dodgy buyers and sellers out there. If you need to ask us if it's safe then I'd say it probably isn't.
Some people can be working together and agree with the seller to persuade the buyer to buy, But thats the nature of all this, Trust no one, Be careful.

There are so many sites out there that will offer very tempting deals, I had to learn the hard way.

As always, when you see some "too good to be true" deals, be extra careful. Smiley
It was one of those fake butterfly labs sites in November last year, I almost flipped everything in my house lol.

For BFL, even if it is the real site, it would still be painful. Tongue
Oh I know, haha, They are shutting down pretty soon if you ask me, Or the will probaly make a terrahash miner if they get lucky.  Cheesy

I have ordered myself few (which I plan to mine), and I have been asked few times if I know whom is a trustable seller, but unfortunately the people I know are miners, not resellers.

Buying a Neptune preorder with BTC, unless it is from your best friend from childhood, should be avoided. That is because you are transferring BTC and only getting the promise of a future delivery. Would you give 20k in cash to a complete stranger from the street and just ask him to promise you that he will send you a Neptune in few months to your home? You don't even have prove that he has bought a Neptune.

Also, KNC has made it impossible to resell a preorder by not allowing the preorder to change owner. For KNC the customer is forever the one who paid the preorder, KNC delivers the Neptune to them, and KNC wont even reply any question about a pre-order unless it is from the registered email of the original customer.
Here an answer from KNC when requesting info about my preorder, however from a different email account:
"If you are the customer that this order belongs to, please use the same email address you used to create this order. "

Escrow to protect the buyer doesn't help either. You will end up paying huge money to an Eastern Europe wallet, and get delivered by DHL a 5kg box of apples (so that Escrow will release the money to the seller, as the DHL delivery took place).

BTC is plagued with scammers. More than 90% of offers in Forums for selling miners are plain fake.

If you want a risk free Neptune, you need to buy it from KNC directly, no intermediaries. Most of intermediaries are scammers.
The problem is that you wont be able to get the earlier batches of Neptunes.

If you MUST buy an earlier Neptune, the safest way is picking it up by yourself (flight, review the unit, pay) and only if it is from a trustable source. If the source is not trustable, scammers might let you review a unit, take your btc and walk away (if the transaction is in a coffee place) or just kick you out (if transaction is at scammers rented office).

If you can wait and buy from the next Neptunes batch (3rd batch, hopefully coming soon), you wont have problems sleeping at night. KNC already proved itself as a trustable seller. And if you wish, you are welcome to get a small rebate  Smiley when ordering directly from KNC site (see my signature below).

asicmart is obviously scam.
Their website makes the same mistakes (all of them) that scammers do. Unfortunately I cant write those because they will read this thread and improve their website to not scare newbies who want to send BTC to any shady wallet from eastern Europe.

Hi there, thanks for waring this newb off

Do you know a legitimate source for a Knc Neptune?

Never risk bitcoin payment to people you do not know and trust. You will lose your money.

Good advice for sure. What about a credit card payment though? They are usually good at covering any fraudulent transactions.

Strangely i received a second email from the company this afternoon, this is what it said:

"Hello (redacted),

We apologize, but there has been a mistake. Web shop administrator published incorrect price of KnCMiner and AntMiner. Correct price of KnCMiner is $11,299.00.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Also, we are glad to inform you that credit card payment will be available from 10th of February.

Best regards,
Nikolaj"

now i feel like they are a scammer and have been reading this thread and saw us discussing how the price seemed too low and now has raised the price to something more believable. Or am i just being totally paranoid? God i hate how shady crypto is, why do there have be so many low life scum bags involved.

He did say they would accept CC payments from the 10th February which makes them seem more credible.

What do you guys think, a CC payment would be ok?

if they've got Neptunes for sale then they would be resales of pre-orders and the price would likely be much higher than the listed amounts.
this is likely just another scam site like asic-market.com

Hmm, that's what i was thinking. Still, they could have bought some for 10k and make $300 on each. Doesnt seem like much profit tho...

I emailed the company and this is the reply i got:

Hello (redacted)

thank you for you interest in our offers.

Unfortunately, at this moment, only Bitcoin payment is accepted. We are working on implementing Credit Card payment, and it should be available in 2-3 weeks tops. Credit card acceptance contracts in Bulgaria take a lot of time to set up. Laws regarding CC payments (goods and services) are very strict and rates depend on offered merchandise.

Once it's available, prices will be a higher for CC payments because of the rates. We can contact you when it becomes available but we can't guarantee that KnC Miner will still be available at that time.

It's very understandable that you are concerned, there are many fraudulent sites surrounding all of the cryptocurrency market. We have been scammed even by some manufacturers while we were ordering first samples and arranging distribution contracts.

We can guarantee you that ASICMart (and RISK Electronics Ltd) are legit and trustworthy company.

You can check our Bulgarian website (redesign is in progress) - http://www.risk.bg and you can check Bulgarian company register - http://www.brra.bg

Feel free to ask if you have any additional questions.

Best regards,
Nikolaj

www.asicmart.com"

Dont know whether to risk it or not? I've seen someone in the classified ad's on this site is selling one for 12k. I probably trust them more as they are offering escrow at least. But if i can save 2k buying somewhere else then that would be good.

Was thinking about offering ASICmart.com a deposit in BTC and paying the rest on a CC once they accept them. Do you think this would be covering myself?  Or am i still asking to be scammed?

Cheers for any advice
