Is Bitcoin Cash the real Bitcoin?

Monero is what you thought Bitcoin is when you first bought it. It does not matter if Satoshi wanted to make bitcoin the same way as Monero is built.

The scale of bitcoin is changing unlike what was originally proposed in the Bitcoin whiteboard. It's not a good idea to scale the string to use it only when needed.

Cryptocurrency markets are not as good as expected. So does bitcoin, which is no longer what it used to be. Bitcoin still has large scale and fast transactions but still has many disadvantages.

In my opinion, this guy was too quick to conclude this very important thing. Bitcoin is doing quite well its mission and is similar to the original proposal.

Bitcoin is no longer what Satoshi Nakamoto originally proposed in the Bitcoin whiteboard. What bitcoin is doing right now is a lot of incredible things.

It is just their claim and own opinion but we certainly all know that Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash is really different from one another. Those two have existed in different time within the crypto space so how can it certainly be said that Bitcoin cash is the real Bitcoin and the Bitcoin we have known for so long is not the real Bitcoin. Those two just share the same name which is Bitcoin but surely those two are apart and different from one another when it comes to the attack, approach, platform and how the project is executed. Also, how Bitcoin cash can be claimed as the real Bitcoin when we already known Bitcoin for so long. There maybe just a comparison between the two but their identity still remains on what they truly are. How can we supposedly say which is which and which is not? Those two are different cryptocurrencies apart from one another and there is something that is unique to them making them different.

Bitcoin Cash is a heavily centralized currency, as it favors the large-scale miners with giant mining farms. On the other hand, Bitcoin Gold is the coin which favors the small scale miners. The current version of Bitcoin falls somewhere in between, but as of now it is moving towards a monopoly by the large scale miners. I am holding almost all of these coins, so I don't want to favor anyone or degrade the others.
We need all kinds of bitcoins if their existence is justified and if they benefit the cryptocurrency market. It should be remembered that Satoshi Nakamoto also experimented to a certain extent and his bitcoin might not be the most successful solution, but even so, then only at that time. In our world there is nothing stable and permanent. Everyone has the right to development. Bitcoin cash, like other forks of Bitcoin, also has a right to exist.

I think this question already has the answer by looking at the spread of btc and bch. The community has chosen which is the real bitcoin.

Well.. I have to agree here. Considering the number of whales who support the forked coin (BCH), I expected it to perform better against BTC. But since December 2017, it has lost almost 95% of its value and even against Bitcoin, the BCH exchange rate has fallen from BTC0.200 to BTC0.0286. And the split between BCH-ABC and BCH-SV didn't helped the prices either. BSV was able to poach a large number of BCH users, and despite skeptical predictions it is still doing good at the exchanges.
This should show you that even the whales do not have a perfect control of the market, what it is the point of holding almost all the supply of a coin if no one is using it?

They may claim they are the original bitcoin all what they want but if the community disagrees then there is nothing they can do, and while it is clear the community has given their seal of approval to bitcoin as the best coin in the market this is not going to be over until bitcoin cash completely disappears or at least is out of the top 100.

As for me, I have never used Bitcoin Cash and it is hard to imagine it will be able to replace the true Bitcoin. BCH was just a fork and did not get the wide support in crypto community, so I do not believe in it's future.
I think that nobody uses Bitcoin Cash at all except the Roger Ver. this tool is like a very long hype that still exists. Roger Ver doing everything possible to ensure that his project stays alive and works, but now it exists only for people who do not understand anything in cryptocurrency to invest money in it.

Bitcoin Cash is a good project. Let's put the arguments aside. I think it's a good alternative. Community does not ignore Bitcoin Cash.
Are you sure with that?

Many already says that Bitcoin Cash isn't a good project because it's a fork coin and the goal of it of even claiming as "real bitcoin" is unacceptable. Do you think that arguments can be put on the side? The majority is ignoring BCH though.

I don't see it as a good alternative, LTC or Doge for alternative transfers if btc network is congested.

If picking between the three Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Dogecoin, I prefer in this order, Litecoin first, Dogecoin and Bitcoincash, I have tried all three and Litecoin and Dogecoin are also fast and they offer a small fee, they cannot claim originality when they do not have the exclusively features of these two, fast and cheap transactions.
Okay, it's your personal ranking system but it's all about telling that BCH isn't ignored by the community and a "good" alternative. And with what you have said, you have personally used it and it's not really quick unlike the other two coins that I've mentioned which are better alternative.

That's why I'm asking him if he's really sure about his description about that fork because everybody is aware of what BCH is.

So i heard this guy talking about how Bitcoin Cash is actually the real Bitcoin. He says that Bitcoin is no longer what Satoshi Nakamoto originally proposed in the Bitcoin whitepaper.

1. It was supposed to be Peer to Peer but Segwit is destroying this.

2. On-Chain Scaling was supposed to raise as needed (Block Size)

3. Since Bitcoin scales on Chain , It has fast transactions.

Can i get your input on why he might be right or wrong?

It has been two years since Bitcoin Cash came out, maybe you also saw that without Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin (BTC) can still solve everything correctly. SegWit is really the right step to help Bitcoin avoid overload when confirming the huge number of transaction hashes per day. In my opinion, I don't deny that the introduction of Bitcoin Cash has helped many people tend to use Altcoin instead of Bitcoin for transactions via cryptocurrency. But after all, Bitcoin is still itself, and Bitcoin Cash is no different than a clone copied from a fork.

Indeed, Bitcoin need to be updated according to the need of the current environment.  Bitcoin will soon be obsolete if it stick to its original plan that is why hardforks and upgrades are created to suit Bitcoin to its current  need.  And as we see, Bitcoin with segwit seems to performs better and accepted more than Bitcoin Cash.

The bitcoin is the totally different coin from bitcoin cash even if you send your bitcoin transaction to the bitcoin cash address your all transaction will be lost. So before check it if you have some bitcoins Satoshi.
It's very clear that bitcoin and bitcoin cash are not the same, even though bitcoin cash is born through bitcoin, they still won't have anything in common in terms of wallet or anything else.
but they have the same possibility. such as pumps and dumps that occur could have caused movement in these two assets. but I will be more interested in bitcoin than bitcoin cash. in terms of price and market, I think bitcoin is much bigger and has a very strong dominance.

First of all, I don't have a very good opinion about Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and its promoters (especially Roger Ver, Jihan Wu.etc). But at the same time, I have to agree that this particular coin has fared relatively well, compared to some of the other altcoins such as Litecoin and Ethereum. I guess having powerful supporters like Ver helps to maintain a good exchange rate.
Maybe it's not only thanks to these influencers, but to the improvement of the code/coin (capabilities) itself?

Bitcoin cash become altcoin have position under bitcoin on price or anything, although bitcoin cash come from hard fork with bitcoin and never have chance for bitcoin cash have higher price later than bitcoin, maybe bitcoin cash keep existing with higher price could be competitor for other altcoin like ethereum and litecoin in the future.

Bitcoin will always develop according to the development over time.
We cannot expect the old system to be in the future because of the potential for bitcoin to be left behind by other altcoins.
To be honest, in my perspective BCH is the ambition of Roger Ver because he is not satisfied with what has happened with bitcoin at this time.
Because according to him it was not what he wanted, there was a lot of drama going on between people around the bitcoin environment that was why BCH appeared even though it was a hard fork of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin cash (BCH) is a very good coin and it doesn't have to fight the tittle of 'the real bitcoin', it's not worth it because we have the real bitcoin already and bitcoin cash is what bitcoin should have been, that is all, bitcoin will always be bitcoin nothing can change that

Why would you even say that it would be the real Bitcoin we all know that it was just a copy from Bitcoin,
And it was only a few years old while Bitcoin is already a decade,
A copy would only be a copy and could never replace the original no matter what happen.

Yup because it release before the bull run would be. They meeting about on what happen on August 1st, 2017. The news was all about the removing of bitcoin but it would not happen because they create new token instead and the bitcoin cash do release without an ICO.

I don't think so. The real Bitcoin should be the coin created by Satoshi Nakamoto. In addition, BTC still fulfills the purposes of him creating this first cryptocurrency. Although some terms may change, it is only to conform with the time flows. However, basically, the purpose and condition of BTC right now are still the same. On the other hand, Bitcoin Cash doesn't fulfill the criteria because it is not created by Satoshi. This altcoin is also a part of Bitcoin forks, but never state it is the original one. Everyone knows that Bitcoin is the real one, the original one forever.

Do these people really understand or know the words ORIGINAL is it the word implies the first and the one that started it all, they cannot claim they are real one when, they just fork it, they can claim that they are better but to claim that they are the original one is foolish as long as the word ORIGINAL implies the one that started it or the first, they cannot claim it.

Bitcoin cash is a mirror or a fork of bitcoin and never the original bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash tries to solve the problem of scaling in bitcoin because of the time it takes for conformation during high traffic, by coming up with larger block size. Nevertheless, some deceptive persons have been promoting BCH as the real bitcoin, when that failed, they have turned the propaganda to BitcoinSatoshiVision. This has failed again.

right, don't misinterpret. although BCH is altcoin, but in its development altcoin is good for investment. with so many solid communities to date BCH still occupies the top 10 ranking in cryptocurrency. we can see the development later after bitcoin goes up, whether BCH can react
It's only in the top 10 because many bitcoin holders received them for free and just like bitcoin a lot of services started accepting them. If bitcoin goes up most altcoins will follow including bitcoin cash but eventually their value doesn't last long since most people are only trading them and not spending them for what they are even though it's somewhat convenient.

Just a fork of Bitcoin who clearly is not independent from main core and with another purpose towards mass-adoption of cryptocurrencies. I think Bitcoin cash can never be the real bitcoin , but its the 1st fork from it so the value will be there as long as Bitcoin exists. Also I don't see BCH a bad option for investment in long term as I'm sure BCH will be accepted into stores at some point in the future.

The developer and investors of this coin are really good when they connect their coin to Bitcoin because newbies will surely misunderstood it and buy some BCH and they feel that they bought BTC instead.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency but has real value. You can exchange Bitcoin with cash to spend as needed. Bitcoin can be exchanged directly with Internet-connected devices without going through an intermediary financial institution. Currently Bitcoin has attracted a lot of investors. Bitcoin makes your dream of getting rich quick come true. What are you waiting for, come to the cryptocurrency market.

When has the "your dream of getting rich quick come true" become the euphemism for a rip-off? The most important key words are "getting rich quick". "He who hath ears to hear, let him hear"

And can't one exchange BCH with cash? Can't BCH be exchanged directly?

No, absolutely not. Bitcoin Cash just copied Bitcoin's idea but it is not that bad what people say about it. Bitcoin cash always gives good profit to its investors, in the long run, I don't know what will happen with the Bitcoin cash but it can be a good choice to invest for a limited time. Though you are right, Bitcoin is not doing accurately the whitepaper but it is doing great and I believe in the next five years, it will go beyond the whitepaper.
bitcoin cash is a bitcoin derivative, but bitcoin cash investors seem to be good too, proven by always being at the top rank, even though many people don't like it, but this coin still exists, and its movements always go hand in hand with bitcoin, I think this is its strength

Whatever others say about bitcoin cash. BITCOIN is still bitcoin. With comparison to bitcoin, bitcoin cash was just created because of some weak issues of bitcoin. Well.. it is up to the users to decide on that. Satoshi Nakamoto last came online about a decade ago and therefore we can't go and ask him what he thinks about BCH. However, the trade volume and adoption suggests that the vast majority of the pre-fork users are considering the current version of Bitcoin as the "real" BTC. The number of BCH users amount to a small fraction of all the cryptocurrency users, despite a number of super-weights supporting the forked coin. And we also need to remember that the BCH has further undergone forking, splitting to BCH-ABC and BCH-SV.

Bitcoin will remain a Bitcoin and be an asset that is trusted by investors. If Bitcoin cash is real Bitcoin, then the price should not be as it is now and this shows that investors trust Bitcoin more. New and old investors will definitely prefer Bitcoin over Bitcoin cash and I think this is reasonable because Bitcoin has been proven from the very beginning.

The pre-2017 Bitcoin has forked in to dozens of coins, including the present Bitcoin, BCH, BTG, BSV, BTD.etc. Each of these coins claim that their version is closer to the original cryptocurrency that Satoshi Nakamoto created in 2009. All of them have points supporting their arguments, and it is left for us to make our assumption regarding which one represents the original Bitcoin. The arguments and debate may go on indefinitely, unless Satoshi Nakamoto suddenly reappears and endorse one of these cryptocurrencies.
This is one of the many reasons why satoshi withdrew from public view, we should not rely on a single person to make decisions about which is the real bitcoin, the community as a whole should decide which one is the real one.

And it is obvious that the original chain is the one that still enjoys the majority of the support not only from investors but also from miners and the community in general and all of those coins are nothing but cheap imitations of the original.

It's easy to distinguish.

The one that says they are the "real" bitcoin is simply a fork and it has its own name which is Bitcoin Cash and is considered as an altcoin.

While the one which is the actual and genuine bitcoin was made by satoshi and we're treating as the king is simply bitcoin.

We can't compare Bitcoin with Bitcoin though we can say that Bitcoincash has a huge potential, we can't deny the fact that Bitcoin is a different coin that can stand on its own.  Bitcoin has been through a lot and it's well established compared to top coins. I still have my full trust for Bitcoin.

So i heard this guy talking about how Bitcoin Cash is actually the real Bitcoin.

It is a fork. So a copy. Coins are identical in 99%. Ia also have most of same holders. BCash was simply to make Bitcoin holders richer. Building infrastructure for BCash is super simple since you just copy the one made for Bitcoin.

Are coins that dont bring anything new to crypto table useful?  Not at all.

I know that Bitcoincash is a hardfork from BITCOIN, it does not mean that BITCOIN is replaced by Bitcoincash and the original is BICOIN because the purpose of hardfork is to break the block of transactions. so at that time supporters of BITCOIN panicked.
We all know there is only one original bitcoin and we all know why it is valuable. Let's have a look at the bch, what makes it valuable? Because it is the hardfork of bitcoin. Otherwise, there are thousands of altcoins that are faster than they are. Do we call them original bitcoin? Personally, I think bch does not even deserve today's price.
BCH does not deserve a price?
I think this is a bit inappropriate, Bitcoin is still there is only one Bitcoin and Bitcoincash in my opinion the revised form of the original bitcoin, with additional features and ease of miners. a reason Bitcoincash has value because there is a community that supports it, but there is one that I don't like BCH a little because it is filled with manipulation.

Bitcoin cash is only the fork of original bitcoin, its clone mostly everything from bitcoin and now exist as a separated coin. Bitcoin cash have difference chain, hashrate, transaction speed... with bitcoin. There are few more coins also a fork of bitcoin, so careful when read something about bitcoin, its maybe just a fork.

1. It was supposed to be Peer to Peer but Segwit is destroying this.

2. On-Chain Scaling was supposed to raise as needed (Block Size)

3. Since Bitcoin scales on Chain , It has fast transactions.

Can i get your input on why he might be right or wrong?

When we look at other people's research, we should also examine whether the research results are true or not, and I hope we are not easily influenced by research results that we have not reviewed again, we must also have an important role in other people's research for accurate research results. And such as his research results are wrong, there seems to be a gap for us to straighten out what happened there.

No, Bitcoin Cash is just a copy of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not doing according to the whitepaper that's right but that doesn't mean it lost its peer to peer nature. If you say this, then I can mention hundreds of altcoins that already overcome Bitcoin in peer to peer way! Just time has changed, it's been 10 years Bitcoin is here, so, in the next 10 years, there will have many things change and many new things will be implemented.

Things should change according to the need of time. Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash implemented different techniques to solve the (same) problem and are working on independent ways.
As an open source project, there was no ownership of the coin. So to decide which chain would retain the name Bitcoin, it was the one with the highest hashrate, larger number of miners and community.
You can fork a open source project but you can't have it's original git or claim your fork is the original one.

You explained it very well and easy to understand.
Thank you for that.

Everything needs an upgrade specially in this time.
They have been creating different coins and forking them.
Like tsaroz says, BCH is like a clone only. It came from a fork so it cannot be said as the original one.
What is worse with BCH? They are claiming it as their own. Bitcoin does not have that kind of feature.

Bitcoin Cash is simply a fork of the real thing and it has plenty of issues not to mention an even more troublesome Bitcoin SV to compete with and Bitcoin is superior to both of these and that makes investment more speculative so be conscious of these issues when investing

Rogerver always says that bch is the original bitcoin that follows the original bitcoin whitepaper, but that doesn't mean bch is bitcoin, because as far as I know bch is a clone of a bitcoin hard fork, I threw it away from the start when getting BCH from the number of bitcoins that I have, bch will never be the original bitcoin, even if YES maybe it's only in a dream

Check their hash rates...

Bcash has %2 of the total SHA256 hashrate while bitcoin has like %97-98. (%1 for bcash sv)

In the light of this information, you can say whoever says some other coin is the real bitcoin... is lying and trying to scam you.

Just because there's someone with that kind of opinion doesn't make the original Bitcoin any less "Bitcoin" and everyone have their own opinion and vision regarding bitcoin anyway and they are already being facilitated with forks and whether to judge a bitcoin is the real one or not depends on the people themselves but I'd definitely prefer the one that already existed ever since the first emergence of blockchain-based cryptocurrency.

depending on the response of each person, if they think so then it will happen, if not then bitcoin will still be a bitcoin, regardless of the development carried out by the coin.
but bitcoin is the first coin and has become a symbol for crypto, it will be difficult to defeat it.

Bitcoin Cash is the result of Bitcoin Fork. Bitcoin is always Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash is another coin as you see now but they are meeting different needs. I don't want to be foolish to say Bitcoin Cash is real Bitcoin and Bitcoin is no longer real. Bitcoin will be king in all times. Bitcoin will give birth (fork) many coins like Bitcoin Cash.

Bitcoin is bitcoin and bitcoin cash will never become bitcoin, too far to say that. Bitcoin cash is number four in coinmarketcap and need hard work to become number one, even have good progress and combine with many platform bitcoin cash still become bitcoin follower. I see only prediction and nothing's wrong with that, bitcoin keep stay in their position. No developer use bitcoin into their program anymore because they realize number one is bitcoin place.

nah this one is right, because bitcoin is no longer being developed and will be stuck there, then bitcoin cash or other types will make new developments which will certainly advance crypto and blockchain, no matter people say imitation or something, the longer people will adapt to these conditions.

Before discussing it, is it worth looking at the history of the birth of BCH? Because honestly BCH was born because of dissatisfaction with the adoption of BIP91 but without an increase in block size or improvements to SegWit. So some investors, developers, miners, and some communities want another alternative to split two BTC.

Bitcoin cash and BitcoinSV are both forks of Bitcoin, then how can it be better than Bitcoin.

After every five year or so technology needs to get updated accordingly. That is why those updates have been done to increase the efficiency of Bitcoin. Think it in this way your mobile phone gets a new version every year. Hence, Bitcoin has also got a new version.

Bitcoin is only one and no one can replace it.

The words 'the real one' are very brave to say by bch. I think those words are just reinforcement to find or make the community more solid. Even from the consensus it is clear that bch cannot compete with bitcoin. Bch is nothing more than a game of roger ver to make money. The bigger the community, the more money he can get.

It is not.
It is just the copy of bitcoin. It came from the fork of bitcoin. So how will you think it is the real bitcoin if the mother just got pregnant and brought out a child which is BCH or bitcoin cash as they call it.
It the child now the mother?  Grin
That is just how simple it is. Do not extend more explanation about it.

It is obvious that those that support bitcoin cash are going to make those kind of arguments, in my personal view I would have no problem with bitcoin cash as long as they advertised themselves for what they really are, they disagreed with the development and the decisions that the developers of bitcoin were taking and they decided to create a fork and compete against bitcoin to see which solution is the best.

But what really bothers many people including myself is that they call themselves the real bitcoin, they cannot fork a project and then claim that they are the original, if they want to back up that claim then they need to beat bitcoin, something they are not even close to achieve.

But aren't there entities which are changing Bitcoin as we speak right at this moment like Blockstream? It seems like with their investors (such as master card / visa etc) have a significant opportunity to destroy the Bitcoin network by changing the code of it , can they not?

Agreed with @tsaroz, bitcoin adopts its development thru time. Imagine altcoins are beating them down thru Peer to peer attempt.

But IMO, it always bitcoin can retain its original purpose though BCH is a newer and improved on chain solution. In terms of price, If BCH can improved and develop the problem with scalability then good to pick BCH as it van grow more in the future even though its a fork of the original bitcoin.

Network effect is very powerful but getting it into the hands of the everyday consumer is a little difficult because people are wary of coins because they still value the coins value in Fiat.
