I think cryptocurrency has been destined to become a means of exchanging value since the invention of the internet. The internet has so much value because it can access anyone with an internet connection, way more than brick and mortar business models, hence the colossal success of tech startups. This will only continue to grow exponentially as network access becomes possible for anyone and everyone thanks to things like 5G, satellite internet providers, etc.

Things of worth have become digital-website domains, followers, views, digital marketing (on social media and elsewhere), and using cash is starting to become outdated and irrelevant considering the transformation from physical to virtual, including the economy. Blockchain tech allows this to be a possibility.

Bitcoin might've started the trend, but I don't think it'll the ultimate currency to exchange digitized value. It isn't useful enough and there are various other ICO's trying to change that. Not all of them are scams lol

That is a huge leap from crypto currency new money to 4th industrial revolution. I mean we haven't even stabilize it enough to be viable for adoption and then these talks about ushering in the next industrial revolution. I think we are getting way ahead of ourselves on this one. Maybe give it a few more decades.

Yes, this approximate time can take 15 years, and human society will be subverted again 15 years later. For example, smart car smart city, artificial intelligence, AR, VR, these will be realized. Human development is usually faster and faster.

I don't know about thay. I mean crypto currency is cool and all but if it is needed for an industrial revolution then i guess no..i mean we have sophisticated online and cashless banking but if we're looking for a blockchain loke industry where everything is transparent then i guess we are long ways off. I mean big wigs will not want that kind of info

We are gradually moving to the fourth industrial revolution era where three super internets converge with a digitalized window renewable energy internet and a digitalized automated GPS and soon driverless road, rail, water, and air all ride on a platform called the Internet of Things. I think without bitcoin (Cryptocurrency) the actualization of the fourth industrial revolution would be incomplete? Guys, what do you think?

Nice, read your viewed on the discovery of blockchain technology and what the future holds for us. Bitcoin is going to be among the story we are going to tell in future. Industrial revolution will not be complete without bitcoin revolution and I believe the future is waiting for the development of cryptocurrencies.

I don't see it as a new industrial revolution but a new information revolution.

The printing press made it possible for information to be mass produced.

The internet made it possible for information to be shared, in two way communication, faster.

The blockchain is verifying that the information you receive or have is verified accurate, trusted.
Bitcoin work same as fourth Industrial revolution because we don't do anything we just invest money and bitcoin increase it itself. It would be future of income where people take rest and bitcoin work for humans.

As Far as I'm concerned, The  fourth industrial revolution make people's life easier because robot will replace people to do many things. It means that people will do less than ever. Bitcoin have function to help people to save time for payment. It tries to make A' cashless society' for human life.

The fourth industrial revolution already happened. You are talking about the fifth industrial revolution, when the robots and A.I will take over the human civilization. This will make people's life harder, because it will make everyone lazy and dependent.Only the smart people will survive.Stupid and uneducated people will die from poverty, because their jobs are taken by the robots.
Maybe bitcoin lead us to fourth Industrial revolution. But its bit harmful for us being involve with fourth Industrial revolution mean not to do work with your hand and give command to robots to do your work which mean you can become laziest person.

I think yes since fourth Industrial revolution helps people to improve there life. People won't work but make money. I heard some robotic machines works in place of human.

That’s an interesting question, because next step in evolving blockchain is to create quantum blockchain, and since quantum computers are one of the main part in “forth industrial revolution”. Bitcoin with certain technical "tweaks" can sure be a part of next industrial revolution.

Well, revolution or not, crypto would most probably be the global coins of the future. But it might bring a large impact on the economy of the world if it became accepted by the ruling classes. So, why not?

The IoT (internet of things) is the resource for the the fourth industry revolution. If we look more profound of the evolution of work places and so on, many of the new work domains are not backed up by and productive industry, they all are niche domaines. Regarding bitcoin, its role in the market is not to evolve or develop this industrial revolution, but to change the evolution of the economy.

I think that's right. But in my opinion to complete the fourth industrial revolution not on bitcoin but the blockchain system. I think Bitcoin is also an economic and financial revolution that utilizes blockchain technology

We will experience some kind of revolution but I doubt that it will have as vast effect as the industrial revolution had. People are slowly getting used to digital forms of payments (wire transfers, NFC and card payments) and it will be easy for them to switch over to Bitcoin if we develop easy to use tools. Having one or at most a couple of decentralized cryptocurrencies should make an impact on the world's economy. No more printing money which has no value at all. The biggest problem is knowledge. It was easy to understand the benefits of industrialisation but an average person doesn't know much about money.

Bitcoin is the most dominant cryptocurrency and it is most likely to lead the next industrial revolution. Crypto currency is one of the biggest innopvation of mankind. Even though its adoption rate is still quite low, it will unite the world under one currency one day.

Bitcoin is not totally ready for today's world let alone lead a fourth industrial revolution. You need more than just money to get that going and bitcoin is still in its infancy compared to what it can achieve. We need to globalize bitcoin to the point where some apps are right now.

If we could turn bitcoin into a mobile payment method that is accepted almost everywhere and accepted by all shops (either directly as crypto or if they want directly as fiat depending on their choice) we can actually start to use bitcoin on our daily lives instead of just trading bitcoin to make more fiat.

I think Bitcoin is part of the technology, and in the coming time it will be a part of our life. But Bitcoin can not be considered as a fourth industrial revolution, because its main objective is to be a posture, not to be revolutionary. And anyway, only 15-20% people know Bitcoin. Right now, it has to go a long way, but yes it can not be denied that the desire of bitcoin is growing rapidly among the people. But it is hard to predict, that what will happen to crypto currencies in the future, they will be in existence or will last for a long time. If this happens then certainly Bitcoin will lead all of these.

Who is really to say what is and isn't part of the industrial revolution without being able to look back from the future. We do not know now what will be integral and help to push society on. Just like in past industrial revolutions no-one could accurately say what was or wasn't going to one day be considered as a part of them. I do believe if we are to look back that blockchain technology is going to be far more prevalent than bitcoin itself because it offers so much more than just one coin alone.

Yes, more likely! And if that happens I know that a lot of people will be searching Bitcoin in google again and a lot of people will FOMO and try to join the ride and repeat the process all over again.

I would like to say that instead of calling it an industrial revolution in case that cryptocurrency will partake in any kind of advancement world wide I would call it the digital revolution instead where almost every transaction happens in the digital space which is the internet because I would dare say the we are already made too many advancements in automating work load which the industrial revolution started and it is just a matter of time where almost all things to be automated.

Cryptocurrency will not have a big effect on changing times in this technological era. Previously, the government had done what had been conceptualized by cryptocurrency, the main factor being a payment system.

All forms of payment will still use money fiat mostly, but the government will facilitate it with a digital system, I'm sure this is an easy thing that can be done by the government later.

So as, as a technology in the future, especially for payment systems, everyone will still be comfortable using money fiat compared to use cryptocurrency. Most likely cryptocurrency will use as a place to gain money.

I don't think so. I believe without Bitcoin, the fourth industrial revolution is still likely to occur, all we need is a higher technology matched with the blockchain technology. Though,  with Bitcoin will make it a big plus. And moreover, the local fiat currency will never wipe away nor disappear if that is what you are expecting. We should be hoping that the two will work in hand for better economy.

Well, (IMO) is really hard to predict what will be happened in the future about cryptocurrencies, they will be existed or will be long last until the end and it might use us a digital currency near in the future. However, if that really happens probably bitcoin will lead all crypto's and the actualization of the fourth industrial revolution. No doubt that bitcoin will probably exist at that time but not all crypto's(shitcoins).

They talk about Blockchain technology being the 4th Industrial revolution already and now you have Govts and Banks looking at adopting the technology. For example, Dubai will be the first-ever government on the blockchain and they are going to issue their own stable coin called EMCASH, which will equate to being the electronic version of the Dirham. So you see if Governments and Banks are coming in slowly, then mass adoption will follow and blockchain technology will slowly lead us to be a cashless society in many places over the next twenty years. This is what I see anyway.

Hmm As for me in short, low cost super mobile smartphones, free Internet, digitalization, open source technology, cryptocurrencies, and the blockchain, all contribute to a worldwide leveled playing field. In the capitalist world, the cost of service and production is falling towards zero. As the world goes digital, a whole ecosystem becomes available over the Internet to everybody worldwide at almost zero cost.

Self-driving cars would be fantastic, but I'm still waiting for a cure for cancer.  Maybe better information processing during this revolution will speed that up, who knows.

I'm not sure what bitcoin has to do with the other things mentioned in the OP, but then again I'm far from a computer scientist.

In the field of biotechnology, for instance (I'm a bias microbiologist), we are currently finding ways to produce more variants of food with minimal amount of resources used as a catalyst.
Now that's what I'm talking about.  I'm not kidding about the cure for cancer thing.  And in general it seems like there haven't been many breakthroughs in medicine in quite some time, although having oral medications for Hep C is a great thing, and the fact that HIV is no longer a death sentence.  Maybe I'm just being cynical.  But I do agree that a breakthrough in your field of microbiology is waaay more important than one in financial technology.  That's my opinion, but I'm also biased toward science as well.

The fourth industrial revolution is the continuation of the third revolution which was automation of nearly all processes.
Now the fourth industrial revolution will be the amalgam of all the technologies such as AI ,Blockchain, and Big Data as they all operate on huge amount of data.
And its growing on an unstoppable rate!

I think key force that will complete the fourth industrial revolutions are; IoT, Blockchain, Big data and artificial intelligence. The combination of the four can archive unimaginable creativity and innovations. Mfchain is one project that is making it's mark in this regard especially, its quest to protect users from crypto volatility using the mf2x protocol must be applauded. A gradual move toward mass adoption if cryptocurrency is almost a reality now.

Its long been speculated we cannot rely on a currency based in just one country which is the current system with most global trade done in dollars.    Bitcoin or some online secure standard is very likely to be part of what takes part of the business done worldwide though I also think we see normal FIAT national currency based in asia partly and also some return to use of gold backed value exchange.

Be the reason someone smiles today
Bitcoin is part of technology and will be part of our lifes in the future, that's for sure. But I don't think it can be considered as the fourth industrial revolution as main purpose of it (being a currency) is not revolutionary, it's just an improvement from old model.

However, Bitcoin's main concern is adoption rate that is still very low. We need to see important improvements here to consider Btc as a real currency.

Digitization of services and invention of technologies that we have right now, IMO, prepared us for the fourth industrial revolution. While the blockchain tech and the advent of bitcoin is groundbreaking and remarkable, it isn't the only one that will push this change of phase. There are other things more important than the blockchain that could help us change the olden ways and innovate, making a lot of things easier to handle and lesser effort is required to produce maximum output.

In the field of biotechnology, for instance (I'm a bias microbiologist), we are currently finding ways to produce more variants of food with minimal amount of resources used as a catalyst. This is way more important than having fintech services embedded in a blockchain since it will help the general population and combat starvation if done correctly.

Bitcoin specifically is not part of the 4th industrial revolution. Blockchain
technology is only one of many elements contributing to the revolution.

"The Fourth Industrial Revolution builds on the Digital Revolution, representing
new ways in which technology becomes embedded within societies and even
the human body.[10] The Fourth Industrial Revolution is marked by emerging
technology breakthroughs in a number of fields, including robotics, artificial

The Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing and autonomous vehicles."
