Probably best to wait until after the halving to buy your mining hardware.

Usually the market sees a slight dump after the halving and hardware prices falls.

Snap them up quick and go online to benefit from the huge pump that usually follows.

Though you might want to act about a month in advance due to how Bitmain are when shipping their hardware.

Just to follow up and close, they ended up being delivered in late March... Hope you all received your gear in less time Smiley
It's not just Bitmain. I have had so many orders that i made in Feb end up in disputes and then refunds because of the end of buyer protection time due to massive shipping delays. It's very understandable given the current situation of lockdowns in many Countries.

This is somehow old news but this can be the answer why you are having delays with your shipment and you are correct that the NCov is the main cause for it. Microbt and Ebang, the competitors of Bitmain, announced delays of shipment because of it but I'm wondering why Bitmain hasn't given any advanced notice about their shipment delays due to the Coronavirus. Not only mining hardware businesses are affected by the outbreak as even NVIDIA will be expected to take a hit from their sales because of it since China is one of their biggest markets and they are expected to lose 100$ million worth of sales because of delays in shipment and slow business given by the outbreak.

Btw for additional information, it was stated by World Health Organization that it's safe to get items from china cause virus can't survive long on packages and etc.

It's still China that makes the decisions, and they seem to have lowered the bar for 'detection' of infections, which means that now even people with the most innocent symptoms are labelled potential threats, which caused the highest number of infection numbers thus far in a single day (according to multiple sources it varies from 15,000-20,000 new infections).

I wonder how those new measures will affect the shipment of goods from China to other countries. It's time for OP to come up with an update since he has been online today already. Even if the status of Bitmain's shipment hasn't updated it's still worthwhile to point that out here.

I hope that Bitmain keeps their clients up to date with an email instead of just letting them stare at the status of their shipment. Mining is a competitive space so every delay means more profit of people going down the drain.

Hey there! I have a couple orders from Bitmain that went into “ship” status for few days but nothing happens. Is because of the Chinese New Year, Coronavirus...? What do you think?

Also, do you have orders in place that are actually shipping?

Thanks in advance!
Whats the update on this one? Whats the status on the said shipment? Almost a week passed and for sure they have at least show out some progress..

As far as I know China's government increased the length of weekends for one week and from 9 Fabruary, Chinese post companies continued doing of their job. I have this information from parcel forwarder company that has office in China, Shenzhen. So they should have shipped your items or maybe they'll do it in upcoming days but as for now, everything works so postage and etc mustn't be delay for them.

Better contact bitmain to clear your situation of whether it's just a delayed shipment or you'll be getting a refund like the user below, and if that's the case for everyone, we can assume that bitmain still hasn't resumed to their normal operations yet.

I bought couple of miners on 31 of Jan and they still didn't ship out so I contacted bitmain and they said
"due to the influence the coronavirus, we will handle the refund after 2.10, please wait patiently, thanks."

so did they stopped shipping or what ?
does anyone else have their miners shipped this week?

We have bought 1-10 February batch 3 weeks ago. First, they said that shipping is delayed to 10-20 February, today they said beginning of March. The factory was not working until today, and we are shipping from HK, that's another problem to transport equipment from Mainland China to HK. So we are pretty sceptical, as we were told that internally they have transport colapse and most of the factories are on holiday until February 17-24.

Bitmain was a privately owned company headquartered in Beijing, China. So there are too many instances what is the reason of delay shipments. The possible reasons are about the epidemic virus and the extension of the New Year holiday, that's why they had an outbreak. But unfortunately, I didn't find the official announcement of Bitmain even on their official Twitter account.

I found online news that not only the Bitmain company had an outbreak and delayed shipments of products. Also, MicroBT and Innosilicon.

Have you tried reaching out to them for an explanation? I wouldn't be surprised if there were shipping delays as there is a lot of uncertainty about anything or anyone travelling in and out of China at the moment it seems. I haven't heard anything about all import/exports being directly affected or halted. It's not unreasonable to expect delays with something of this magnitude though. Best bet is to just ask them, it might be a generic response but should give you a date and reason to expect things to start moving, they've always been pretty good for that.
