If that happens, you can contact me personally:http://liraz.org/?ContactLiraz

FWIW, I'll probably already be on top of it as I've implemented robust Nagios monitoring that triggers SMS notifications to my phone when anything goes wrong. If the site goes down for 5 minutes or the blockchain stops updating for more than 2 hours my phone will be lighting up.

Also, I've put in quite a bit of effort to make sure the next downtime we have will be due to hardware failure rather than a software or operating system issue. All the site's key services are monitored by systemd and set to restart automatically if they leak too much memory or go down.

I just checked and it's working,  i tried i think last week and didn't work.
Thank you for notifying us liraz, where should we report when it happens again?

Thanks! People did inquire politely what was up, and whether I had lost interest in maintaining the site. Thankfully there are other options so worst case scenario you just use something else. Which is exactly the way it should be. Decentralization FTW.

Still, I admit it is a big relief to have the site back up and finally in good health.

Great to hear it's back up and running. I was surprised more people weren't publicly discussing it since I thought it was extremely popular as it is a wonderful service. I am glad you kept it going and did not let it die. Smiley Thank you.

Sorry for the late response. If nobody was using the site the last 2 couple of weeks would have been less stressful. I could have just shut the site down and sent blockexplorer to a quiet peaceful death, instead of migrating to Insight:

Anyhow, the Internet is a big place and old sites die hard. Especially when they have an API and hundreds of thousands of links. According to CloudFlare BlockExplorer.com received 871 million hits in the last month and is scheduled to receive 2 billion hits next month:

Tried sending a few messages.  No luck.  I guess nobody uses blockexplorer.com anymore?
