I think that we're very close to the bottom of the bear market right now, if not already at the bear market. It's clear from all the signs that we've got at the moment that bitcoin isn't going to go down much further, and bottom is probably in the range of $4-6k.

However, I very much doubt that even if $5.9k or within that vicinity proves to be the bottom that we'll see major bullish developments in the second half of the year.

The bearish sentiment is still strong within the market and a huge trend reversal seems unlikely at the moment. Even if the recovery starts, it'll be a gradual process that will see small increases every time, not anything absurd like last year that you're suggesting. An ATH is pretty much impossible even in the event of a recovery both this year and 2019, imho.

That is also what I am expecting that we cannot witness the parabolic run like in 2017 winter at this time.  The rise will be gradual and it will take a long time to people to realize that we are in the bull mode.  If we hit ATH then it would be great but I would also be happy if BTC reach $13k level this year, and that would be "realistic ATH" for this year.

it is hard to tell when the bull run is going to start.

on one hand we have this bottom at around $6000 which was already tested 3 times with a huge volume dump there but it was not a successful drop below it. and that showed the strength of this buy support level and set it as the unbreakable bottom for bitcoin for 3 times. and also we have this slow rise that is ongoing these days as an accumulation is going on.

on another hand there is still a lot of FUD, negative news,... and that plus the bear market that we had so far has created some sort of uncertainty among investors in the market that has been forcing them to double think every decision they make and most of them are still out with their money waiting for a sign to jump back in.

The market is still unpredictable. The current situation will be a bull trap. The last bear movement is from 9999 dollars to 8750 dollars. There will be some bullish movement before the bears push price to sub 5000 dollars.
The market will remain unpredictable for ever, because no one can know about bitcoin market so easily, but from the news we get about bitcoin we can predict about the market a little

In recent days, there are news and tweets regarding increase in volume since the last dip to $5800.  Now, BTC stands still, riding 10-EMA at around $6500 for some days and is undecisive whether to go up or down.  One good thing is there is no quick sell-offs that used to happen during this 6-month long bear market.  Now is the important time to see whether it will break the barrier and rise above or will continue to downside.  I think since the first half of 2018 is largely bearish, in the second half of 2018, bulls will take the momentum and will reach to a new high as many have dreamed and predicted.  What is your thoughts guys?

I really agree with the information about bitcoin is currently a wait that has been long awaited by all users of crypto, the potential and prediction of bitcoin with price increases are helpful to notify also of the cypto itself, I am optimistic that we do not sell early merupkan one step and good stategic, all the benefits and success for all of us

I think there is slightly a bull market happened a few days ago but since bitcoin is unpredictable we don't know what will be the price of bitcoin in the future but I heard that the bull market is not started yet so this month or next month we will see a huge price increase and reach the new higher value of bitcoin.
What I see right now is the stable price around $6500 and I don't see any bad news about bitcoin these days let's see until this coming week if there is a good news coming and no major bad news there is a good thing will happen on the price of bitcoin.
No one knows when are we gonna see a huge rise in the bitcoin price. Only hope is there when we look at the potential of BTC. Technical analysts can tell only what’s happening with the bitcoin and even it is not 100% correct because the previous dip we saw, most of the technical analysts were wondering for the reason of the price drop. We will see a bullish market in the future for sure but have no idea when it could be? We may see another ATH in the next month or after a year or two (not confirm even). We also can’t figure it out that what will be the lowest price of bitcoin for the year 2018 whether it stays around $6000 or go below it. Due to this nature people call bitcoin unpredictable.

or will continue to downside.

we have seen the price try and go "downside" multiple times now, 3 of which have been major downtrends with huge dumps and a lot of panic sell. suffice it to say that each time the downtrend has faced with a strong resistance at the buy supports around $6k and could not go below that price and stay there for long. it bounced back each time so you can not even expect it to go lower anymore.

we may not be on a bull run yet either. this to me looks more like 2015 where price was at the bottom @$220 and it was stuck there not moving. and the slow rise began slowly with everyone confused whether it is a bull run or not.

Probably this second half of 2018 will be the bull season but i have doubts this trend will not go further agaim due to some factors that always exist nowadays in the market ,especially some big players that always gaining quick profits after the pump which is can cause price to decrease a lot.

Early this year, we bounced strongly off of $6k, nearly doubling in just under a month.

Although we broke though the same level, we bounced off of levels that were only a few percent below $6k twice (both with >8% bounces), creating what may very well be a double bottom. Neither bounce has had the volume that we saw earlier this year, but it does look like we have seen short term lows.
