I don't believe in religion, but I do believe in cause and effect. People hate being oppressed by outside influences they can't control, and given the chance (in today's case-through technology, in history's examples, through brute force-french revolution, american revolution, etc.) they will create a system that works more for themselves which is what cryptocurrency represents in today's day and age.

Despite past events that make you ant to lose all hope in mankind, we've evolved a lot and are much more civilized compared to just a few hundred years ago, and blockchain, and AI and more widely available internet will take it even further.

sky poppa to come along
Haha  Grin sky poppa is funny and it is synonymous to a sky daddy.

It's interesting how these people always connect the present events that are happening in the world to the prophecies written on the revelation book. Even tho we are going in the same place (graveyard), these topics always give the life a spices for those people who love mysterious puzzles.

Verified Bernie Bro - Feel The Bern!

Bitcoin is not the mark of the beast.

BUT the mark will probably use some sort of "advanced" version of blockchain technology.

Heed the warning and do not take the mark at any cost. Check this video, it may help:

I think crypto's are one of the four horsemen.  I think religious folks should all gather at the south pole to wait for sky poppa to come along, should be any day now because no one has been predicting the apocalypse since the bible was made up.  Oh make sure to take guns you might need some protection from all the religious crazies down there!

Revelation 13:16-17 (NIV) says that "It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name."... is this prophecy refers to our newly decentralized system which is the Cryptocurrency, specifically the Bitcoin?...

No.

Any other questions?

It is very likely that the devil worshiping globalist elite politicians will force people to take microchips in their hand after globalist masonic central bankers have caused a hyperinflation and people demand government to restore economic order.

my church said credit cards were this prophecy from revelations
This is what I've heard too.

When credit cards came my parents told me that this has been the fulfillment of that verse. However, technology keeps on innovating day by day and the one that I believed was the microchip implanted to the wrist or forehead.

With crypto's today, it's not yet widely accepted so I doubt it.

For the mark of the beast, there's one idea that I've heard before that it was going to be another religion.

I can't imagine people implanting a chip into their forehead to spend money... that's just ridiculous

Also, the "number of the beast" (666/616) is a clear reference to Nero Caesar... they used 2 different numbers, one for the Jews and one for the Gentiles because they spelled his name slightly differently (Nero Caesar vs Neron Caesar = 616 vs 666)

So... if the "number of the beast" refers to Nero Caesar... I assume the "mark of the beast" also refers to Nero Caesar, since he is "the beast"... so, this is 2000 year old history, not a prediction of events in the 21st century
Hey that's interesting with the information you shared about Caesar.

About the implanting of RFID microchips, I've heard that many times and if you'll ask a Christian it will be the first thing that will come to their mind. As I watch different preachings/sermons from different pastors that's how they interpret that verse.

Technology goes on a different level now and that implanted chip becomes now a solution to a problem for banking/credit card hacks. It doesn't only include your money but almost all of your necessary details.

Interpretation of "couldn't buy and sell" is being applied to the feature of that implantation.

Is this supposed to stop us from investing in cryptocurrency? If we are not Christians / Catholics, are still going to be affected by the apocalyptic craziness that cryptocurrency is going to bring?
Really. Bitcoin has rippled into other great things. Or to be exact, blockchain technology. Before it's just for bitcoin. Nowadays, a lot of industries are already adopting it in their own use. There are shipping companies, charitable institutions, hospitals, etc. that are already using it as a transparent way of processing transactions. I don't see anything apocalyptic about it.

My real curiosity about Revelation, resumes to know what kind of mushroom did the author took...

For the rest, takes to be dumb for believe on a 2000 years old prophecy with 0,00% accuracy so far, all "this is a prophecy of Revelation" was nothing but a far shot.

Christians have been screaming "end times" for 2000 years... this is nothing new

This isn't even the first time they have claimed this exact prophecy... as a kid, my church said credit cards were this prophecy from revelations

Have you actually read the book of Revelations?  It's one of the best books in the bible, though it wouldn't hurt if you were tripping on acid like the author
RIGHT! I do not understand how they even come up with these ideas. They seem to be able to find every way to link religion into just about everything. It's just a drag to progress.

In their world, everything has a meaning derived from one of these three books: Talmud, Bible or Koran (aka Bible 2.0).

The trilogy prophesized everything in their lives, from bees dying to new Presidents with small hands and fluffy hair, to Chinese takeover; or whatever conspiracy theory their little brains can come up with.  And now Bitcoin.

The only thing missing is the actual description of SHA256 algorithm in the Bible.  But those are details.  Not important.  The main idea is important.  Roll Eyes

My opinion is that any cryptocurrency prophecy is not - with such success we can talk about any prophecy.
P.S. The Mayan peoples, then also predicted bitcoin ... Grin

I fail to see any relationship whatsoever even when am being sentimental. And I don't see this an attack worth defending.
Bitcoin is borderless but can not be referred to as a universal currency... Yet. And there are also other alts as well.

This topic is very serious because it has been predicted on the bible. But the question is, is this prophecy refers to our newly decentralized system which is the Cryptocurrency, specifically the Bitcoin?

Well, some believe Bitcoin is in a position to fulfill the prophecy by becoming or morphing into the one-world currency the anti-Christ will use to gain economic control worldwide. However, not everyone agrees. So now we will tackle the five reasons why the Bitcoin cryptocurrency shouldn't be considered The Mark of the Beast or the prophecy told in the Revelation.

1. Could be a fad: According to Catholic Online, Bitcoin's volatility, security issues and potential regulatory challenges raise questions as to whether it's just a fad.

2. Blockchain: Each Bitcoin contains a "blockchain" that keeps a record of every transaction made using Bitcoin since the system was initiated in 2009.

3. High Prices: Alan Greenspan, former Federal Reserve chairman described Bitcoin as "a bubble" that lacks intrinsic value, according to Bloomberg. In December 2013, Greenspan said that Bitcoin's prices as being unsustainably high.

4.   People respect dollars more: The change to virtual currency may come at a relatively slow pace because people have built up respect for currencies associated with nations, according to Catholic Online. People respect dollars, mostly because of their track record and relatively stability.

5. Bitcoin is a way to beat the Beast:   Instead of being the Mark of the Beast, Bitcoin may be a way to beat that mark. According to Christian Money, "One of the key elements of the Mark of the Beast is to be able to prevent those that refuse to take the Mark from buying and selling. Bitcoins are decentralized and prevent any such control."
