Let me be honest with you.

I'm in Crypto started on 2017 while in that time around 2017/2018 (ICO)/Token Sale are quite booming. Real Estate are the things from ICO Booming is being used for the fundraiser. The concept is always same.

Connecting (Real-Estate) into Cryptocurrency with Blockchain, all ended the same (SCAM) or failed.

Damn, I miss those good old days of ICOs and token sales. I think that's where the concept of degenerative investing in crypto originated from because you invest in projects that would most likely be vaporwares. Back to topic, I have actually used parcl and participated in their initial community program. It's not like you get a real estate property per se but you're speculating on the prices of already established real estate properties going up or down with leverages. First project I've seen. So far, traction is low that's why I have fingers crossed when parcl manages to deliver their full product suite.

This seems promising to me and to be frank very practical however there is a chance that this could just easily fail.

Real estate and crypto are two different things and have different target audiences. It’s hard to integrate both of them into each other without losing their respective fundamentals. Maybe this is why not a lot of projects have ventured out into this field.

It's an interesting prospect that much I can say... But I believe there is a right way of doing things and when a company hits the right spot, it flourishes in an oasis and makes it a forest. Like Sega and PlayStation... Nevertheless I look forward to seeing how it thrives!

Its was hard to see how a market like Real Estate which operates in real space and real-time could be integrated with web3, this was my initial thought before i came across Parcl Labs recently. When i saw Parcl was a decentralized exchange focused on real estate (hence web3) it piqued my interest. Upon further research, i found that it allows users to speculate on the price movements of real estate markets in major cities around the world through "real estate synthetics" – financial instruments mimicking real-world assets in real-time.

The major discovery for me was learning how the Synthetics worked so it was a moment of understanding what I didn't really grasp before now. An important piece of its puzzle is $PRCL, the native Parcl. The platform utilizes it for governance, data access, and potential participation in future incentive programs.

Generally though, Parcl has garnered traction within the Solana ecosystem, achieving the highest Total Value Locked (TVL) among novel DeFi applications. It is no wonder that their V3 exchange has facilitated trading representing over $940 million in notional value and 2.1 million square feet of real estate exposure within a few months.

I believe Parcl Labs presents a unique approach to real estate investing in crypto space and with PRCL listed on Tier1 CEXs, its community will probably get even bigger.

Are there similar projects in these niche?

I'm just hearing this niche for the first time though. An exchange that's focused on real estate trading. Digging on X, I already discovered PRCL is on top platforms like you mentioned. https://twitter.com/bitgetglobal/status/1780219592557900017?t=1uNkxQ_xNEwjcxsalxb6GQ&s=19

I couldn't agree more... They have made some noise and the community seems to be growing. Although I will still do more research on this, I think I will put something little for a start and see how it goes!

Have you heard about REIT?

Speculating real estate price is risky and very similar to gambling. REITs are much better option here. I am sure your country has something similar to this.

In REIT, you get fractional ownership of real estate which is managed by a trust. This trust distributes 95% of their income to the unit holders. Also, with time, the value of each unit increases reflecting the increased property value. No speculation! Just pure profit and periodical income every quarter. I have invested in REIT almost 4 years back during 2nd phase of COVID and I have already recovered around 42% of my investment through income distribution and my ownership remained intact!

No Bro... I haven't.

Sincerely though, I appreciate how there is always someone somewhere on this platform who just seem to know something about a peculiar topic.

It sound like an interesting model and I know generally Property gain value with time... But Hypothetically though (Although I don't believe in Man Made Global Warming) what if a situation like Maui fires that happened recently, who bears the cost... (you really don't have to answer)

I have to add though, 42% recovery is commendable and I will definitely check it out.

I don't see projects that have niche in real estate to thrive in the long run

We'd see how they'll do for a year or two but then, that's what I have noticed if a project is focusing itself to real estate. It's entirely a different realm that has a low chance of success.

I can see why you you would incline towards that perspective... Hypothetically though, I think it might be a snowball effect when it comes to innovation like this. I can remember when wanted to develop a navigation app for my dissertation, I checked what was obtainable and then I developed mine with better UI and more features and functions.

In part, it's both as a result of the upgrades in technology and the desire to solve problems that made my product unique. In that vein, I believe what limitations the PRCL may have at the moment will probably be a stepping stone for the next big player in the niche and so on.

Just me thinking out loud 😅
