Good investment or not is determined by the team behind the project, we all know that tokens that have DeFi main products (lending & borrowing) are very dependent on on-chain activity there, there are quite a few tokens of this type that I think are quite successful. We can see examples of this in Aave (AAVE) and Maker (MKR).

BTW, I heard that Morpho (MORPHO) will be listed on Bybit today, will any other CEXs list their tokens as well?
Team also plays a good role to bring out innovations that'll drive exposure don't you think? Yeah it's on other exchange and you can also farm it on Poolx and candybomb if you're up for it.

Previously I thought that they would only create hype in certain places, but after seeing the cashtag of this project on X, I realized that this is a big project. And yes, about the exposure you're right. This project might be worth looking into further, especially since it falls into a category where there aren't many players yet. Need to do due diligence first. BTW, thanks for the discussion.

Morpho recently launched their own token on CEXs, which begs the question, are DeFi lending tokens good investments?

It’s not. There’s a lot of popular lending platform that makes the lending market already saturated. People usually borrow on CEX to directly trade within the exchange itself instead of using DeFi that typically charge higher on Ethereum platform.

Project related to liquidity staking and blockchain are the best option for a potential investment instead of lending since only few borrow now on DeFi since people preferred futures trading to access more liquidity in exchange for liquidation risk.

lending are quite useful though, AAVE tvl and daily borrow/lending activity is active enough.

people who stake on liquidity staking platform also frequently borrow ETH with their wrapped ETH as a colateral to boost their yields and points, I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with investing in the defi lending sector.
considering the adoption of defi is still low anyway, I think they still has the chance of growing their TVL to a massive amount in the future.

CEX on the other hand, just want to lend you money if you play by their own rules.

Just like anything in the crypto world, this depends on picking the right place, right pair, right investment basically, there are some that could definitely make you money while plenty that would make you lose money as well. So, if you really want to, stuff like Aave made a name for themselves based on this logic and if you really want to do it, then you could take a look at it and try to figure out if you could make any money from it.

There is a good balance in some of them were everyone wins a good enough amount, and at the very least you are not just holding your money for nothing, you are making some good profit from it and that would be a good idea to keep growing with time, it shouldn't really be a bad moment for anyone.

I've been watching other tokens and their potential to grow. I found defi lending to be an interesting area to look at,  tons of defi lending projects out there mostly all built on ETH chain, most of their tokens on other exchanges. Morpho recently launched their own token on CEXs, which begs the question, are DeFi lending tokens good investments?

I think they are good for long term, their use case is strong, with so many people using their services, you can take a look at their statistics and you see that their metrics isn't just a bluff and their FDV is justified.
but I personally won't invest into defi that's already having rally, too much risk, you could always wait, as for morpho, you should see the mcap and compare it to something similar, maybe AAVE, even then there's no guarantee that morpho can be valued that high.

Personally I don't really like investing in morpho just because I don't like their defi interface LOL Grin.

I feel like we've been talking about meme coins a lot alongside BTC because of the good price pumps we've seen recently

I guess you need to look for more information on altcoin scene since DeFi investment discussion is not on investors discussion anymore. This supposed to be good technology has been gone now and the same with other what has been introduce it turn out that DeFi thing out there is just another scam so don't get hype to much on these thing because if you are seeking for such investment matters then most likely you will just end up getting scam.

So much better be cautious on things what you are watching for then try to avoid any obvious scam so that you will not waste your money there.

If you wanna ask if DeFi token is good to invest? Well for me no. But if you want to take the risk then everything will really depends on what you really want to happen.

They're no longer a thing today but there are still some of them that have left and still going on. But I'd be more cautious with them because they are always in the news that are being hacked. It's hard to trust money in platforms nowadays so if you have plenty of money trying to get into these lending platforms, you better just hold it and have the full control on it without having interaction with these DeFi lending platforms.

are DeFi lending tokens good investments?
IMO, no.
But I could be wrong.

DeFi and NFT hype is long gone, so I don't think they will perform as well as they did last time round, so if you are looking to invested in any of them, I would advise you to careful invest in them and not expect too much.
Meme coin investment is also more of a gamble lately, so it's a hard game.
