Digital gold is a good idea but we have none in crypto space, I'm still yet to see a real digital cold currency, many claimed its real but its not, if there is a real digital gold coin it should be on top 10 list on Coinmarketcap today, its all make belief
you're right. also i think digital coin is good for investment. it's not just a stable coin, but it will make some profit in a few months or in a year.
it's different from USDT, since it's hard to get some profit from USDT investment because it's too stable.

True, if digital gold can be realized it will be very good for everyone, because we can find out the world gold exchange rate, only until now the idea for the development of digital gold has not been fully realized so that digital gold is not visible in the top 10 coinmarketcaps.

For me digital gold is same like coins but in different name

Its price fluctuation is supposed to be the gold's fluctuation, unlike free market (as in Bitcoin) or stable against USD (as in USDT and such). That's pretty much the only difference from other coins.

As I am increasingly interested in investing some of my money in digital gold for the long term and I will invest around 40% whether this is good.?

For me digital gold is same like coins but in different name, in forex world we also know that all product in commodity trade only using contract not physical form. Digital gold is new and invest around 40% is risky because we all know all crypto depend bitcoin movement. If you invest after halving event it will give more clearly prediction should invest or not?. Careful with your money but I think digital gold is worth for investment.

Digital gold is better than  real good. Top all coin is good even better than gold. Bitcoin is very known as digital gold. From first 2009 gold price and bitcoin price, now price is increasing more than gold. Ethereum price is increased in one month 100 percent, as your experience you should invest more in digital gold.
In any case, if a person intends to invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum, as in digital gold, then this is really a very good investment, but if it is a cryptocurrency that is supported by gold, then what is the difference between the dollar and this token.  As for me, it is better to use real gold as a storage of funds, and investments should be made in those projects that will bring good profit.  If there are prospects for a company that works with blockchain and uses tokens for their work, then investments in which projects should be considered only from the point of view of the possibility of generating income.

you better not invest, there must be further analysis to prove whether the project is good or not,
even though the team members are clear, but I don't know if they have a real supply of gold

Not an investment advice though.

But the digital gold token https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/digital-gold/ has a total token supply of 9,200 tokens and also they claim to have 9,200 physical gold with Bullion star. If you search through medium or the project website, you will find the gold tracking information there.

Do more research, and make the best investment options personally.

I have heard about that and it looks like the team can even prove it and this coin is good enough. There was a safe way to play in the token backed gold just like XAUT which was launched by tether.to platform.
OP have some choices to use which coin that makes him interested with it.
Just let him to decide it based on his due diligent.

As I am increasingly interested in investing some of my money in digital gold for the long term and I will invest around 40% whether this is good.?

You can invest in any percentage of your money, but you need to accept the risk of investing in cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency has volatility, and that makes the price of all coins will always up and down, and that makes people can panic to see the price moves. But if you can control yourself when you know the market, and you want to use bitcoin as your long term investment, then you don't have to worry or panic because bitcoin won't let you down, and bitcoin will give you the profit.

Before you investing some of your money, you need to learn the basics information about cryptocurrency, learn about why you don't have to panic in investing in bitcoin, and you can solve the problem that might comes after you invested. Using 40% of your money will be useful, but you don't have to use all of the money you have if you still need the money for your daily life.

If you mean by digital gold "btc" you should know that this is very risky and 40% is too much.
If you are talking about gold based tokens or other things like it you should know that you did not actually recieve gold. This may be a problem for you but this can be traded much easier than real gold
The potential gain is much highetr than risk. How much can Bitcoin go up? 10 times? 50 times? It all depends on the adoption rate. Some people projected that 1% worldwide adoption would already give us a million dollar for 1 Bitcoin. What is the risk then? That it will dump 20% in a day? Then you will lose just 20% that's not a lot compared to a possible 100% gain before the halving and 500% gain in the next 2 years.
There is no point in "digital gold" in the first place. We have original gold. Period.
But we could've create a new way of keeping our value in safety and spending it.
Bitcoin might be the solution only if it will be highly adopted, can't disagree with pixie85

Digital gold?

Why not try to elaborate more if you do talk about online purchasing of gold or simply do talks about gold-backed tokens?
if you do talk about projects that do promise out on getting some part of gold when you do make an investment then
better think twice.I have seen a lots of those projects turns out to be a scam in the end without giving something
to their investors.
Exactly. There are almost no ways of proving your token back gold and vice versa we can't really check it from our user's side.
So you got to research and make own decision whether you like it or not.

In fact, the only digital coin is absolutely Bitcoin. So don't the risk through investing in some shitty crypto like BTG (Bitcoin gold), For me,  that coin does not have a good potential for exmaple the value of market cap is pretty low ( less than 200 Million dollars ) despite it has a low price ( as I know less then $ 20 ). From my experience, you need save most of your budget ( like, 80% ) through investing in Bitcoin and ETH,  and you can take the risk with the other 20%, I advise you in order to buy Tron, Stellar and Monero.

You did not disclose any details regarding your deposit and how much money you want to invest. Look at the history of any of the top 500 altcoins. Over the past year.
All that you see is -90% of their value at least. Do you really hope that investing half of your total deposit will make you a big profit? Are you not afraid of the risks.

Think carefully before you deposit your money into another shit coin.

There are a number of platforms where you could purchase digital gold. There are both centralized as well as decentralized platforms where you could invest into digital gold but I am actually confused. By digital gold do you mean actual gold or bitcoins? Because most of the people compare bitcoins with digital gold which might make it a bit confusing.

Investing into digital gold might be a good option if you want to start trading with the prices for gold. Also you can anytime order real gold by selling those digital gold on a number of platforms so it might serve you as a stable source of income but you might perhaps not gain that good benefits by trading with digital good which you could have by trading with bitcoins. So, you better choose a reliable investment source for yourself.

I have talked this to the team and they said if they have reserved gold. I do agree with you if that will need deep research but we must remember as long as it can be proven and that's also a good choice too.
It looks like tether XAU will become a better choice rather than digital gold.

Are you talking about the digital Gold coin? A crypto coin backed by Gold! Then yes, that coin is exceptional and enough good for investment. I missed the train, it's the price was low but now the price keeps growing over the time! Whatever happens in crypto, pump or dump, GOLD coin price is increasing gradually!

if it's really a digital gold asset with a clear amount of assets, that's very good, especially if you mix it with bitcoin. however, before making that investment, you need to be sure that it is digital gold that is actually backed up with gold. So far, I don't know of an investment location like that, but it looks like several projects have done that, so you just need to look for information.
There already are a number of projects running in the blockchain technology which are now backed by real gold so OP might surely find profits by investing into any such projects. But, the risk might remain constant if OP invest into any recently launched project just in case to have major benefits by being one of the early adopters. The project might even end up being a scam so it is much important to choose the platform first before we even think about investing.

OP would need to spend maximum time in making research about the projects where he could invest in. Recently, I've found greater profits by investing into gold backed, digital gold projects launched on blockchain network.

I am not an expert but in my opinion investing in such percentage is a bit risky. Investment should be done with extreme caution and sufficient research. As I have seen on reading materials, Digital Gold has gained popularity and left Bitcoin behind but these two are both digital currency which means that volatility is present. And as I have seen it by the actions of other people, they indulge with new coins every now and then, abandoning the old ones. But what if this also happen to digital gold, that would leave it with low value. Investing with digital gold is not a totally bad idea but you must think thoroughly.

People here do not realize it just yet but there is digital gold already. At least in my country, you can talk to your bank and change all of your money to gold, not just gold futures or anything but literally gold in gold form that bank will hold for you, or you can withdraw it in gold form as well.

It's still easier to work with crypto currency, even if it's only a token. You have anonymity, you can exchange any time, not only in the banking hours, you don't have to leave your desk.
I don't deny that a bank may offer more trust, still this token seems to have better audit than most stable coins, so let's not deny its good parts.
And more companies offering similar product use to be a good thing. People can choose based on their needs.

So, there is an option of me basically working with my bank to hold all my money in gold form whenever I wish something like that, which is digital gold to me, its basically stablecoin at its core since I can literally get the gold in physical form if I want to but can keep it on the bank account and hope that it will gain more value as well, there is no blockchain invoked and that is basically the only thing missing out of all of these things which I don't really mind.

I am interested in this GOLD token https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/digital-gold/
Good or bad, of course, very relative. As far as I know, GOLD coins are equivalent to the price of real gold, one of their slogans is digitalization of gold. The price also tends to be stable and there are no significant changes, of course the gold equivalent. Their bounty campaign also went pretty well and gave satisfying rewards to selected participants. If I had to choose, I would prefer real gold, because there is nothing technically different in appearance. It would be better to invest it in other cryptocurrency whose price does not depend on anything, it is to increase the chances of getting profit when pumping, but it is also more risky.

I have seen some information about the project some couple of times and i feel it is good, due to its stability and the ability to grow with respect to time, but that will be long term based.
However, considering the experience I have had with some projects, I would advise you to invest what you feel you are capable of losing. Even if the project does not want to scam investors, they might have oppositions, who are ready to go to any length to spread FUD, which might affect the project.
That notwithstanding, the project is still looking good.

I am interested in this GOLD token https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/digital-gold/

Need to be considered :

Buy real gold
  • You must keep it in a safe safe to avoid from burglars or robbers
  • It is very risky to get fake gold, so be careful
  • if you want to sell, you have to bring the gold to the local market, or need to meet with people in person

Buy crypto / virtual based gold.

  • pay attention to the credibility of the project that sells gold, whether it can be trusted or not. so looking for reputation is very important here.
  • keep in mind, the gold you have is not in your hands right now.
  • trading is easier here, to exchange to fiat or crypto assets is very easy. because crypto-based digital gold here can be called a stable coin.

so start to consider the risks and advantages before you are already already. "gold" is an asset, but you do not expect to get a quick profit, because of low volatility. very different from crypto assets like Bitcoin or alt that we know today.

When you say digital gold do you mean some crypto projects backed by gold? I would suggest you to go for direct investment into gold as there are many gold companies who offer investment deals either you could go for bitcoin investment if you wanna keep it digital and decentralized but I would not suggest to go for any crypto-related digital gold for investments.

It is definitely good if you buy at the right time. It's nothing like you're investing in gold and real estate. If you buy these assets at a high price and when the market starts to turn, you will lose money. In my opinion, any type of asset is worth investing in. It is important that its buying and selling demand is high or not. In my opinion, you should buy bitcoin and store it for long term. I feel that the financial situation of many countries is now in great difficulty and maybe a recession will occur. people will look to gold and bitcoin to buy and its price will certainly increase.

You need to be specific when asking those questions, for there are so many projects out there that claim themselves as digital currencies back up with gold. If you mean by digital gold "BTC", then you will also need to know about some pieces of information for investing in BTC. you need to read all of these and take your time as usual. no rushing here, arm yourself with enough knowledge and everything will be clear as soon as you want to invest in this digital gold (BTC).

The idea isnt bad actually it comes handy with some few perks if you asked me.

  • The era now is changing and having a digital currency for gold will enable safety for those gold investor to keep safe their asset. How? Instead of securing permit for its storage they could convert and hold the digital equivalent of their asset into token which is stored in a ofline wallet
  • Easy means of transaction. Let say they wanted to sell their gold asset these digital gold currency will be tranferred to new owner in a easiest way to do it like sending a message from your phone. No threat when dealing on a private place or whatever of possible stealing
  • Never depreciated. Though gold is an accepted currency such as Dollar its value is rarely seen depleted cause of scarce and that's how implementation of digital gold currency can increase its popularity for those who are interested to invest with gold due to this improvement

So far there is no regulation for this, but I can see the possibility of digital gold currency to be regulated and authorized to be approve by the government.
I think if cryptocracy is used as a very valuable asset in my opinion, it is very good, but you should know that the end of the world will happen someday and when the end of the world comes or when a major disaster occurs, making electricity inaccessible, cryptocurrency will be very difficult to use, payment and transactions will be traditional which will make it difficult for people to make transactions when they do not have expensive cash or exchanges such as gold and paper money that are still valid for transactions of buying and selling goods.

so in my opinion there is no harm if people still have gold with a very large amount to spare them.

I did some research on digital gold and to me this seems to be a revolutionary, actually digital gold was the first crypto currency model unfortunately they had some issues with their regulations and Bitcoin took over from them else digital gold would have been the rockstar of crypto currency. However they are bouncing back again and want to give hard competition in the market, I would prefer this coin for longer-term.

I also thought so and that's why I conducted many researches. Basically, the most advanced and attractive solution I have found is GetHashWallet. Guys are bringing easy to use product that is arrow certified and available for sale, so everything can already be tried out. Moreover, they had crowdfunding on Indiegogo, it brings higher confidence for me too. And I definitely recommend you to have a look at their website to have a better understanding

Hmm, so far for sure sounds interesting, let me also have a closer look at the solution and get back with own opinion

Most likely, yes. At least I cannot think of something more rational. But you know, talking more on hard wallets, I tried to find unique solutions several times and what I have noticed - it is not very simple to find impressing ones. They are all more or less similar

Well, from my point of view, the only alternative is usage of hardware wallets. But in here, of course, you should be choosing the most advanced solutions only

In my opinion, much these days depends on reliability and practical value of each concrete idea. But what makes much sense - some aspects that stay for new trends. For example, I am pretty disappointed by more attacks on leading exchanges and thus interested in new strategies here

You have to specify what is a digital gold for you. If it is a Bitcoin, as an alternative to gold and traditional financial system, or you are talking about tokens backed by real gold - I mean Tether Gold or other similiar alternatives.  Cool

Someone has already suggested about Xaut and it has already traded on exchange site and you can also take it as another choice too but if you are interested in digital gold and it's also good crypto backed by gold too and i have talked about where are the reserved gold placed.
As long as that is backed by real good with a very good transparency to the investors and what ever how much you wanna put it to the such token and that will always worth consider it has backed by real commodity.

For a moment I thought you were talking about bitcoin and then thought it was Bitcoin Gold. You should be post links to the coin/token you are talking about if its a new unknown coin. Never heard of Digital Gold to be honest. Sounds like some usless coin. Bad investment I would say. You are better off investing on some other better and well known coins. Though, do your own research before investing.

it doesn't matter if he wants to promote it, as long as he doesn't promote the scam project, Gold also has its own supply, and the supply is limited, the exact amount of gold is unknown, and Digital Gold has a total supply of 9,196 GOLD, I don't know where they got it, I think if gold runs out in this world what will happen to the project
I think they planned to run away with investors money sooner so they had less cap value.

This is the one that has an active bounty right now. I usually not investing to 'digital golds' because with the experience in the past, many of those kind of projects didn't end well. Instead of investing to this digital gold, I'll invest to the true and one that's been compared to be the digital gold and that is bitcoin.
It's a better choice than that.

In the crypto circles "Bitcoin' is whats referred to as the digital gold and if that's what you mean, go ahead mate!

If its not bitcoin and you will be considering other cryptocurrencies watch out for those shit coins that have no value return on your investment, for starters try choose from the top 100 then spread out to other altcoins.

Gold is a good and lucrative investment to lay on. But if you are intending to invest in gold as a whole,  go for physical gold than digital gold. Then if you must invest in digital gold, a 40% is too much.

Its a token that backed by gold, what makes you invest in this token instead of investing in real gold?

Did you conduct a research before deciding to invest 40% of your money? For me I will diversify my investment to bitcoin and to this since you chose it but I will be cautious because even its backed by gold we cant say if the value will increase as time passes.

If you consider the fiat. That surely everyone knows that before the money was backed up by gold reserves. Now, money is not backed up by anything, now money is a big bubble. Then how does it differ from cryptocurrency? Therefore, I believe that it is necessary to rebuild the financial system and switch to cryptocurrency, because we need to change the world for the better, and this is our opportunity.

what do you mean here is not Bitcoin but Gold (real Gold) that can be purchased on an application or site??  if yes.. advice from me, you should be careful and more thorough. in my country, many applications or sites appear to be providers of gold sales (we not accept the physical gold) but 85% is a scammer.  some are profitable because these digital gold traders offer first purchase discounts and purchase bonuses in large quantities.. again, you must be more careful..  you better buy Bitcoin than digital gold.

40%? It seems like you are really serious about doing this. but btw, how much money do you have? I estimate that if 40% of the capital you have now, then you have to be brave enough to take risks too. in that regard, I will prioritize you to invest in Bitcoin. bitcoin is an asset of Gold and is very promising for investment in the long and short term.

I guess you are talking about gold ETFs (they are known as paper gold, and not as digital gold). I have also invested in them, and currently gold ETFs comprise 5% of my portfolio. There are both merits and demerits in investing in them. Most important of them are:

Merits:

1. They are easily tradable
2. No making charges
3. Easy to store
4. More tax efficient than physical gold
5. Can be used as collateral for loans

Demerits:

1. Gold ETFs can be redeemed only in cash, and not in physical gold
2. ETFs needs to be selected carefully, depending on the bank issuing them
3. Exists only in digital form, so you can't showoff.

digital gold? as far as I know people often assume that digital gold is Bitcoin. if that's what you mean then you don't need to worry about investing 40% of your money in bitcoin. right now the price of bitcoin is slowly starting to rise and this is a good opportunity for you to buy btc and invest it in the long run.

If you are referring to bitcoin as digital gold then I must say yes. I wouldnt be here if I think this will become trash in the future. Cryptocurrency far exceeded traditional fiat money in almost every way. One of this is that you can send and receive bitcoin no matter how far you are. And the transparency and decentralized aspect it bring is massive.

Having the physical gold is better in my opinion... else we run the risk of having "gold Central Banks" printing out of thin air, billions of dollars worth of "digital gold" that has no intrisic value, thereby repeating the fiat mistakes with gold. There should be fool-proof ways of verifying that  what is printed actually represents what's in reserve.
There are few other disadvantages of having only "digital gold".

Considering the growth of digital gold along with that of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies right now it is good to go with cryptocurrency investment. Maybe it have high risk than that of the investment on digital gold, but the reward out of the cryptocurrency investment will be very big. Once the value of bitcoin and gold were almost same, now the difference between gold and bitcoin is very big.

Man i wouldn't trust these "digital gold" tokens, theres been too many scams, it goes to show its a very complicated idea
Sadly they are basically all junk, even the "legit" ones, they are not profitable for investors

Gold and bitcoin is I think the best investment for your money since overtime this is going to be a big profit. This both could increase its market price because of the supply and demand "Gold" is a mineral that only have limited supply and overtime is it going to increases its market price as the supply go down and demand of the people is going to market the market price of gold to increases in the market same as bitcoin as the bitcoin increases its demand and decreases its supply in the market for sure this is going to increases its market price overtime.

For me both of this gold and bitcoin are just the best investment that you could make either way aside from this what you could surely do is a business or a passive income as a investment for sure this is the best way comparing it to gold and bitcoin.

Have been a few months that project held bounty campain and paid participant with the large amount per months.

Seem like if you choose that project you will be safe at least for your money. Because many platform over there who hasn't been trusted.

Maybe you have to make your own research, don't depend other people suggestion because it very risky. And that is the first step before you make any decision.

You are preferring a token? I won't say this is good idea,if you want to invest on gold then invest on real gold.

If you are saying bitcoin as digital gold then you might taken the right decision but make sure you know all the risks involved while investing on highly volatile asset like bitcoin.

He literally mean "Digital Gold". Digital means tokenized Gold so the one he is looking for are cryptocurrency that backed by real gold although many startup company attempt to do this kind of project. Only few of them become successful (my definition of successful was they continue the project despite of many investor dump the token).

Moving forward to the discussion, there some promising project that offers a stable coin that backed by gold. Meaning the price of token is pegged to the current market value of gold. You can check it out here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5161544.0;topicseen

40% of your total investment, I say it is not much, because I do not know how much your total investment is, and shared 40% for digital gold investment. Grin
Maybe when we invest in digital, it's full of doubt. But based on the history of crypto there will be huge benefits behind the doubts we experience. Bitcoin history proves that there is a time for recovery after the downturn. So I think you should invest, but if you are in doubt and afraid of loss, then avoid it.

As far as I understand, this is about Bitcoin. Of course, I do not know what your long-term investments are, but if we assume that the market is now at the beginning of a new stage of growth, and the world is likely to experience an economic crisis, then investing in BTC for 1 to 2 years may be the right decision. However, one must understand that no one has canceled the risk and everything can go according to a completely different scenario.

If you mean by digital gold "btc" you should know that this is very risky and 40% is too much.
If you are talking about gold based tokens or other things like it you should know that you did not actually recieve gold. This may be a problem for you but this can be traded much easier than real gold
