DogeCoin has 1114,156,516,212 coins in circulation, which prevents DogeCoin from reaching $ 10 per crypto-currency for example. At the same time it facilitates and much the acquisition of DogeCoin by being cheap.
Following the market trend DogeCoin should earn even more value, even if slowly due to the large amount of coins in circulation, though it is fun to buy and sell DogeCoin and also very lucrative.

It seems to me that Dogecoin is really one of the worst choices for investing. Because I read that this coin was conceived as a joke and there is no technology behind it. If you look at the graph, it sometimes pampers and then falls again. Earlier this coin had very cheap transactions and I sometimes used it for transfers. Now 1 transaction costs 100 coins and I think it's not very cheap.

I don't think that dogecoin value will raise in the future due lack of coding improvements, but for those interested you can check this topic about dogecoin investing and learn some ways to earn dogecoins.
I also believe that dogecoin will not grow in the future. There are many other coins that can bring you much more profits than this coin. I think if you really like this coin then you can invest a small amount.

It's not rising so hard, but it's stable, so if you want to have stable income, I think it's worth to invest, but market is unstable right now, I'd better choose BTC, it might pop up faster than doge for sure.

Is it worth it to invest in Dogecoin?

This depends on your type of investing, if you're into the latest flavor of the month, P&D, something with "technology" that can attract attention, then it's better to look for something else that has the hot money interested in it right now. This was Ethereum and DAO in the recent months, but not any longer. Not sure what it is now, Lisk perhaps.

For more serious investing, and the longer term, it's important to look at the fundamentals, have some interest in the activity of the underlying asset, and perhaps even be prepared to look for ways to help it along in some way. I think it's important to look for coins that have already made it through a number of years, because there's a big difference between the image that is painted by the sellers of an ICO looking to dump and scutter away from the project, and the more objective state that is actualized after all the hype and quick money energies ("rocket fuel") are exhausted following the initial launch and subsequent early stages. This is where only a few out of the hundreds of cryptocurrencies that were created still stand out, with Doge being one of them because of solid community adoption and actual usage.

The main factor regarding investing is the viability of crypto in general, i.e. does Bitcoin have a good future, and do any alts have a place along with it? Considering how insolvent the world's banking system appears to be, with the astounding levels of unpayable debt, and only hyperinflation or "bail-in" deposit confiscation options, it stands to reason that market would be shifting towards more acceptable instruments of liquidity in the near future, tangible assets like gold and silver, and also digital currencies that cannot be controlled by central banks. Bitcoin would be best to have as a primary store of wealth in regards to digital assets, because it is so widespread and so widely accepted already, but why not have some diversification as well? Doge and Monero seem to be excellent for the fraction of digital currency holdings that are not in Bitcoin.

PS: there is of course significant risk, since large and powerful interests are heavily invested in the current system, and only want central bank issued currency to continue being used - so there are issues, which could include effects on trader community sentiment and downward market pressures - but fundamentally the upside looks really good

I plan to buy a few millions of dogecoin for long-term investment, does this coin worth to invest?
for me sir if you have a lots of time to keep checking the price doge can still be a good game to play but in terms of long investment plan, it is not a right timing for you maybe after the halving right after the price stop to fluctuate in terms of bitcoin that we can determined the price of alts and doge would be on my list as well to start investing.
I think the same about it.
My theory is there is no really good reason to invest into dogecoin, because the maker of it,never thought about doing it
for serious purposes,it's main purpose, was just to get some fun out of starting his own coin.
But suddenly,it got more popular, and some people have started to use it.
However i would be scared to invest my funds into dogecoin,it is just too risky for me.

I plan to buy a few millions of dogecoin for long-term investment, does this coin worth to invest?

DogeCoin is one of the Top cryptocurrencies today. I think Top 3, or I guess Top 4. If you want to invest, dont invest now. Because BTC is so hot right now. Thats because of the halving event, investors want to earn more so I think Dogecoin will ran out of stocks because they will exchange it into BTC. So I guess its better to invest your money in BTC rather than DogeCoin today.  If I were you, I will now save my BTC in my wallet these days because BTC is now increasing. Meaning higher price, higher profit. So I guess its better to invest BTC for now rather than DogeCoin.

buy a few million and you can't go wrong
hahahah great idea Cheesy anyway dogecoin is so cheap that buying few millions probably wouldn't
bother any serious investor.
However it was made as fun currency,i dont predict it to get a big value, just look how it is called , lol

apart from Doge being a joke it is also one of the coins with the largest amount of available supply. there is currently 105,000,000,000+ (105 billion) Dogecoin available in the market that is being traded that alone can keep the price always down because of massive supply.

The first dogecoin train is gone, but you can wait next train....dogecoin is popular altcoin and we can wait when price will rise again.

If you look at the chart in polo, you see that the train is pretty regular, and comes around quite often. Takes a slow lull to high 30s low 50s SATs per, and spikes up to the stratosphere for a bit. Looks like an EKG Grin but for the record, we are in one of said lulls as we speak. Wait for the peak.

If i have big number of dogecoins i would go to exchange  dogecoins for  bitcoins and then I would invest my bitcoins in revenue site or elite ptc site.

Revenue sharing program and Ptc are a thing of the past, better invest it in other cryptocurrency with so much potential than doge.

The doge has no future. Right now, it is about to leave the top ten best capitalized coins because every day are emerging better options to invest in the altcoin world.

Perhaps the useful cycle of doge is close to end, and this type of irrelevant coins does not deserve a better future.

well, Doge has always been this way from the start and the fact that it has survived this long with high daily trade volumes is strange enough. and i don't see any reason to believe anything is going to change about it (for better or worse i am talking about going both ways).

Investing in dogecoin right now is the wasting of your time and energy and will be the locking of your money, so try to invest in some other coin, I have invested some amount of my money in LetItRide, It is currently very cheap and hope the price will be increased sooner.

Yeah I agree, the price movement for doge is quite slow, i think you need to switch coin for temporary, the market for alt coin is not really good in the moment, I lost quite a lot of money in the trading

idk honestly there's a big difference in the penny stock altcoin markets and the top 5 marketcap trading coins, it's not a good comparison imo...
doge is a steady long term altcoin. these other "penny stock" altcoins come and go. the OP i believed asked LONG term for investment ahha ;p

Isn't there a MASSIVE AND INCREASING supply of Doge?

The supply of doge is growing at a much slower rate that the supplies of BTC, LTC are growing after the doge initial emission ended back in 2015. Now it's got a little tail emission going. It's an other fact that is often omitted.

Well, Ripple has 35 billion coins (compared to 105 billion dogecoins) but somehow has a price of 1023 satoshi, if dogecoin has a price like that its price would probably be about 340 satoshi.

If you look at the Doge better look at Litecoin, there was a lot/some good development in last week, looks like they are waking up and if they deliver planed road map in next 2-3 months then we can expect a lot from it

But for sure no one can tell if any altcoin will get a more value soon, most will lose and that is why you must investigate youself

PS: like ethereum is humping BTC leg, doge is doing same to LTC (merged mining) there is only one scrypt on top and we all know who is it

Do you have the numbers that show this is true? And if it is, how much do merchants and users spend in dogecoin per month? Is it enough that it would matter as a "currency" like bitcoin?

OP, it would be better for you to keep holding and invest in bitcoin rather than holding dogecoin. You're better off with it in the long run. There's nothing really going on with dogecoin except for its community support and even that is dwindling.

The dev said he left long ago because the so called "community" failed to support the coin.

There was more than one topic posted in this section with links to him saying it.

Dogecoin has zero practical utility and most importantly there is nothing valuable that it uniquely enables that wouldn't exist without it. The miners and early adopters did well, doubt that there is any upside to buying and holding
This, outside of miners and early adopters, it's not producing the return so many of the shills claimed it would. What does it provide that bitcoin/litecoin cannot?

Hate to break it to you but if it sucks it sucks..
if some other coin sucks too ? that means nothing.

I also don't buy all this usage / adoption bs your slingin'
It got big way back because of greedy brats.. they left as i predicted they would
and then the dev said he quit because the community failed to support the coin.
As i said they would.. sooo....
What you are seeing is the last dregs & hold outs of what was 10000x more popular of a CLONE coin.
Most of them simply buy them so they can hope for a pump later to dump on.

Further more the notion a clone is a good thing is silly.

Vile worthless little dirtbags that would say take a keygen you made copy it but slap their name on it
..for credits / attention / popularity.
And in crypto it's done for PROFIT.
WHICH IS WORSE !
Ultra MEGA scum LOL

And supporting horrendous scammy useless garbage for profit is foul behavior.
That is like having a purse snatcher run around knocking old ladies out
and you sitting there pretending you don't see anything.. for profit $$$

Worse is coming here and trying to justify & defend silly moronic destructive behavior.
You all think banding together around a MEME Coin was productive for Crypto ?
It attracted the wrong kind of people.. profiteers.
When we needed supporters !

AND..
I bet anything it repelled far more people than it attracted to crypto.. i was disgusted BIG TIME !

At the height of Doge popularity i was seeing people pop up EVERYWHERE across the web.
Chanting in doge speak like retards ..or should i say much retards.. such stupid, very dumb ?

And worse is they all made grandiose deceitful claims NON STOP
saying Doge will take over for Bitcoin and beat it's marketcap real soon etc
Sadly i bet a lot of gullible kids were fooled by these spam comments at cnn.com etc

Doge was a cancer and it's about time we put the sick diseased dog down.
All it did was leave us smeared crypto-doge-shit all over.. no good came of it.

Dogecoin is used to transfer value across the internet, it has the 3rd largest transactions volume. Practical utility is consequently non-zero. It may be zero for you, same as another country's currency you don't use is zero value to you, because you don't use it and guess what, it has no unique features but this other country's silly people want it for their wages. Just because something is not unique doesn't mean it's zero value. This space is full of young maximalists, Bitcoin maximalists mostly.

Ridiculous coins outstanding, old, unfunny meme, no fundamentals.

It will never make your money, and if not, whats the point really?

It will, just a question of when, not if. Hard to fud for cheap coins, you are just wasting your time.

It will what? Make a person money? It had it's chance, it was featured on NASCAR, it's not a new coin - it's never going to give the returns people thought - that ship has sailed.

I don't think so. To be honest, any altcoin will die off in the long run because bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency. There is simply no need for another altcoin when bitcoin can be used.

Short term investment? Maybe. Long term? Nah.

for me dogecoin really worth to invest and buy but it depends how long you want to hold them. I would not prefer for so long term investment for any altcoins. I can hold them for few months but not for years. and hold for long is not good in a traders eye.
I like these altcoins like:
dogecoin, litecoin, etherium, wave, lisk. but just for buying and selling. not for long term holding. for long term holding I would suggest you to collect bitcoin.

Dogecoin is very slow movement it takes a long time before you can make a profit.. but it is one of the trusted altcoin done risk your investment in new altcoin.
You are right, slow but safe if invest in new alt coin changes got scammed very high.
The newest scam was SUB the value drop below 100 satoshi from 7000 satoshi within 7 hours
well, dogecoin is one of the oldest altcoin in cryptos. it is cheap I know but the rate is stable almost everytime.. and price ups and downs are apply to every crypto currency.. one person can't control it.

Long term?  How long is long is the question. If it's 15 years I think doge would be a bad idea.  It might not be around then.  And I don't see significant price gains anyway.  I'd probably pass if I were you.
Not for 15 years, lol.
I mean for one year from now,who know whales will pump it  Wink

The inflation is ludicrous in the first place, I think long term investment on Doge is really not worth it.

There is not much usage of dogecoin, so the miners cannot live on transaction fees alone. So Doge has to issue coin all the time.

i see dogecoin problematic because they dont make halving, it means every time more dogec oins at market forever, i like this coins and i get some but i dont see it like a long term investment

look at graph, it looks like it is stabilized in a long long lateral movement

Long term?  How long is long is the question. If it's 15 years I think doge would be a bad idea.  It might not be around then.  And I don't see significant price gains anyway.  I'd probably pass if I were you.
Not for 15 years, lol.
I mean for one year from now,who know whales will pump it  Wink

I'd look at it like this.. Do you want to invest "real money" into a MEME related thing ?

You may get a better ROI investing in "I caen Haz Cheezburger" Cat T-Shirts..
Or "Serious Cat" brand condoms..
or..
"Grumpy Cat Coffee"

I hear the new Grumppaccino is pretty damn tasty..

Are you serious? This is photoshop product or real ?

I think it's more interesting to invest in Litecoin the price will mostly go up when the price of Bitcoin going up. Dogecoin price is mostly stable and almost never reach higher then 50 satoshi. If you only want to buy doge for profit I shouldn't do it.
Never reach higher than 50 satoshi? Dogecoin reached 120 satoshi few months ago, currently price is stable between 40 to 46 satoshi that not mean will not break 50 satoshi wall

I plan to buy a few millions of dogecoin for long-term investment, does this coin worth to invest?

Of course dogecoin is one stable coin there are hundreds of coins that launch and has turned to scam but Dogecoin is still there in fact so many merchants are now accepting dogecoin, but of course do not put all your eggs in one basket..

Doge coin is Scrypt PoW mining. That mining is mainly controlled by the Chinese farms. I am not sure about that.

i think there is no cap of mining dogecoins so it will be mined endlessly and its worth might be falling in the future so i think it is a really risky investment option right now

in my opinion if i were you i would most probably not invest it into any cryptocurrencies because most of them are going to fall in my opinion, though thats just my opinion about dogecoin
Dogecoin might be mined endlessly but the price never fall down below 28 satoshi since 2013,you will see there are many newer alt coin drop to 1 satoshi from 5000 satoshi within a week or even in hours, invest in Dogecoin is safer than any alt coin.
People invest in cryptocurrencies because they want profits there are alway have a risk but we can choose the safer one to minimize Losses.

Although doge coin is old coin but the daily fluctuating of price is not too hight my opinion doge is not worth for today to invest. I most like ethereum than doge coin. It is just my opinion. There are not people who know about future. Depend on your self to make dessition
yes agree doge is old coin not good profitable but stable.. but about ethereum im not sure So from my look more profitable is to invest in BTC then DOGE or ethereum

slow?
half million $ in daily volume is slow?

right?  DOGE is one of the solids.  you never have to worry about having a buyer for your DOGE Wink

And fast as hell (transaction wise) .It's also one of the more popular in the public eye, since this is one of the few coins that actually made a nod at branding (the meme itself, the NASCAR thing, etc). You could do much worse Smiley

I think of holding DOGE like holding a pocket full of nickels and pennies.

You wan to buy few millions of Doge because it sounds more serious that owning couple BTC? For now Doge is like 10th crypto with market cap of almost $30kk.
It is not gonna change much from there. If you want to profit or purchase an asset worth keeping you would better invest in BTC instead.

I plan to buy a few millions of dogecoin for long-term investment, does this coin worth to invest?

it depends. i personally keep a constant 10%ish   in Doge.  its an easy store of value. buy around 40, sell around 50. 7 times a year Wink
as far as a long term investment, you have to ask yourself, other than a store of value, what does DOGE DO for you while you hold it?
the answer is not much.
whereas other coins could have PoS mechanisms that make you some interest while you "long term hold".
all in all if long term investment is your plan, doge may not be the coin for you. BTC might be! haha
hope that helps, it's just my opinion anywayz ;p
