Please beware of the wallet you safe your funds. I don't know about Ethereum-wallet.net but myetherwallet is highly recommendable and there are other good wallets too. Please always do due deligence before you start using a new wallet.

i always use MEW wallet and remenber their domain name suffix is .com
I use MEW now, that's where I got my reimbursement sent but before I just bought some eth for $16 and kept them in ethereum-wallet.net, so yeah, I lost 60% which is sad. From that time I don't feel like investing in eth even though it might be profitable.
I don't know whether it is a scam or the site really was hacked... Administrator used to write from time to time about the development of some system to return money but I guess he hasn't written for a while and this is a bad sign. If only there was a chance to make him pay us that money..

Hi mate - as I am a new member I am unable to send you a PM. However - I am very keen to get in touch with any of the victims from this and would be very grateful for any contact. thanks!

New update on this thief, cant get through on the ethereum-contact @gmail address. The web page is still down. looks like bitcoin-wallet might also
be down. This guy is running I bet. I agree needs to be behind bars. I encourage all people to prosecute  this thief. But we need to work together and find him.

Many depositors hv been conned, me too, this guy got to be in jailed. As a wallet provider suddenly he reported the site has been hacked. We should get all the depositors here and take stiff action on him. The forum started by him is controlled by him and good and sensible postings are remove by him, so that others could not read and see the posting. For instance I hv check my ETH movement thro etherscan and found that my account was not hacked but the ETH move out hy him to another address. I hv been able to trace that the reported hack have actually move many ETH to one account which shows  balance of US1.5 million. There were also many ETH in figure of 21 being move to Shapeshift. All depositors must get together to hunt down this thief and get the ETH account to be frozen. By compensating40% the thief thot he can get away. As a wallet provider with so many users you cannot say u r not aware of being hacked - why was there no instruction to users to protect their account.

Don't play play with digital ledger, as everything can be trace thru Etherscan, I advise all depositors to check their account, and you can find the truth. Also please note down the address where u receive your 40% compensation as u will be able to trace where the fund from this account iscoming from.

This is how the thief operate. huge qty of Eth move to one address and then move out to a big account, eg. of 4 major tranxs. matching to the account

I can not get my ether out of Ethereum-Wallet.net and they do not, to date, respond to support emails. Does anyone know if this website is a scam? They hold the private key, not good. I also see there is a poster called AstralWonder on this forum who spams links to them in most of his posts. An internet search shows a lot of forum and comment spam and the odd sponsored post pointing to Ethereum-Wallet.net - and not much else at all. The site is not on https and whois is hidden behind a panama address. I am concerned they are simply a scam?

Yes they are a scam I could remember when I just started Crypto still a nob then I deposited Ethereum there,  up till today they haven't refund it they claimed to be hacked

I lost a 100 ETH using this wallet.

Can someone please let me know what email address I need to use in order to send a request for disbursement?

For the people on this thread who have recovered a portion of their ETH, how long did it take to receive the tokens?

I would really appreciate any information I can get

Thank you

One day when I'm in serious trading I'll make sure I know who the company is so I can come and visit Mr scammer face to face.

Always avoid online wallets. Try creating wallet from MEW or myetherwallet.com its .com with https:// on it. Secure private keys and JSON. Always remember if the wallet gives you the Private keys or seed phrase it is a good wallet. Although the security is up to you.

I had 88 ethereum in my wallet at ethereum-wallet.net, and these were transferred to another wallet in february of this year. I have contacted him numerous times and he will not reply nor help me out. He will not approve my account for his forum as well. This guy is a scam like you won't believe.

Where does het get the money from to fund people 40% of their ethereum? We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars in total? He can never earn that kind of money with that phony website of his. I am confident his new forum is fake and everybody there are his own accounts.

People have any suggestions on how to go after this fraud?

Thanks,
Sebastiaan

Sebastiaan, you might have read some of my posts.. i had 27 eth stolen.. Now Ethereum-Wallet.net has gone off line completly, it truley looks like we were robbed.. I've started a forum to try and engage people who've lost money.. Please join there.. http://etherr0bber.freeforums.net/

I put 4 ETH on this wallet and forgot to write down the URL so I thought I had lost them.

Then today I found a link to it on my secondary e-mail (had forgot to check that when I was searching a while back).

Now I find the site is down ("hacked").

I would still be happy to get 40% back since I only paid $50 in BTC for the 4 of them in total, I'd still make a profit if selling them back to BTC. Wink

The latest posting at EthereumRestoreforum, hv the owner suggesting that it will be able to pay back to everybody if the price of ETH is capped at US$220, assuming that ETH price is now US$300, for each ETH outstanding, everyone will receive around 220/300 ETH for 1ETH. This is a plus factor for everyone. Someone should communicate and agree on this proposal.

This is just robbing us again. 27 ETH i stupidly held in that wallet. The offer was 40% (10.8 ETH) now and and IOU for 60%(16.2 ETH).

ETH not GBP,USD or INR

And still, i've not had any contact from them.

Plea for eric1961 to make contact: http://etherr0bber.freeforums.net/post/59/thread

eric1961 said:Received 40%. But, still have very strong concerns as to the remaining amount owed. Since depositing 50 ETH in my wallet, the price has gone up 450%. Having read the various comments left by Admin on how you intend on replacing that which was stolen, it is not a plan...Suggesting that selling projects, and/or selling the site (or part of it) is not a confidence builder. A business plan presented to a buyer showing 60% loss of tokens (at an ever increasing $ value in the future) does not reflect a positive foundation. If you truly are planning on restoring that which was stolen, you need to stem the outflow of loss (increasing in value every day). It is my contention (if you plan on restoring your brand name), that it would be advisable for you to immediately secure funds, restore the tokens, then begin to reap the profits that are going to be plentiful in the future of ETH. If you take any other route, then it seems that you are not intending to make things right. I hope that you will do the ethical thing and make a strong commitment at this time. Thanks

Came back to consider your suggestion. After a lot of consideration, we think it may be best to cap the value maximum at the time of the hack, which the price was around $220, in order to make it feasible that we can at least pay everyone back the original value at the time. Ethereum prices look strong, and it would be difficult to make up for the 50% appreciation in value since the hack. This was what Bitfinex did when they were hacked, so we may have to take this approach for the next disbursement. We've updated the announcement post. A maximum cap on the value is a good idea, or else this project would be impossible if ETH were to rise to $10,000 hypothetically. Hopefully this compensation plan will be able to satisfy users, since it's a difficult situation for us as ETH keeps rising. We're still working on building a site to handle disbursements, as mentioned previously.

Going forward, we are trying to take as many security measures as possible. The hack to our root account was devastating, and seeing in real time all the transactions out of the account into exchanges like Changelly and Shapeshift was disappointing. For us, we're essentially losing a successful project we had spent over a year on. Unlike the DAO hack, we aren't able to hard fork and reverse the blockchain back to the way they were prior. The exact source of the hack is undetermined - whether it was because of our migration process, or the something to do with the new web host we moved to - these were all possible vectors of attack, especially since we'd only migrated for two days. It was definitely not an issue with our code being vulnerable. We had ran that setup for nearly a year until the migration. If there's one thing we'd do differently, it would be to plan out and risk-assess everything before making major changes to our website. This migration was too hasty and was mostly done in a day to prevent our site from being down for too long due to maintenance. If anyone was online one or two days prior to the hack, they might've seen the maintenance message once or twice.

These weeks since the hack has been stressful for us, as we've had to deal with so many things due to this one breach in our system. We want to make sure everything we build going forward is secure no matter what, and we want to place measures in that make it impossible for hackers to gain anything even if the root account is compromised.

I'm not wanting to use facebook for discussions. I've created a board http://etherr0bber.freeforums.net/thread/2/ethereum-wallet-net-r0bbery

Feel free to join that. It would help to provide your Ethereum-Wallet.net wallet ID and Tx ID of transaction records of the heist.

Is it possible that Eth coins sent to my wallet after the 12th June could be still in my wallet? I have looked at my account on Ether Scan and there does not seem to be any other transactions after the Eth went into the wallet.

Any suggestion on how to access my wallet to see if there is any Eth coins still there that I can move?

Go back to where u send the ETH from and click on the address u send to, u will be taken to etherscan, where u can see your ether is deposited and then trace whether u still hv ether in that address n u can see whether it is move out n to where!

I have reported the theft to the UK Police Cyber Fraud - http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

If there are any action groups available to chase this, please include\invite me.

Can someone set up a Face Book page so we can all join in with the conversation. We need to know how many people are affected by this Scam and what action we can jointly take to make sure he is caught and charged. Also whether we can get our Eth coins back

Hi,

Thanks for that, you are correct.

Evidently, www.ether-wallet.net is a scam also,

Quick update after several not too pleasant messages informing the administrator that I know for a fact that their skype number doesn't exist, that  they are using  false ID and someone else's actual telephone number on their site and that I've been in contact with the web hosting company, I received a message that things had been sorted and that my ether balance has been updated to reflect my purchase.

In my case, the sense of urgency to get involved with ether overtook the common sense necessary to do the proper due diligence to find a secure wallet. Nonetheless, I will be sending my ether onward.

 Be careful out there.

You got the web address wrong. try this one: https://who.is/whois/ethereum-wallet.net

Records were amended a couple of days ago. When i first checked on the June 12th, it had different details.

I'm hoping to get this issue highlighted a bit better, there was article written not so long ago;

https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/ethereum-worth-8-million-apparently-stolen-freewallet-users/

Should soon findout if its an 'Exit Scam'

I've just spoken with a fellow in Mallorca Spain who called me on my mobile after I called the number on ether-wallet.net website and he has told me that the pos behind this "wallet" has stolen his id and has been taking out Google ads with his id. I also tried to look up the skype number which does not exist.

He tells me Google is aware that this site is a scam and apparently the relevant authorities are on the case. I've just made my first transaction of 200 euros, and I couldn't figure out why it's not showing in the account and I'm getting zero reply to inquiries other than one to ask how many ether I sent. Bity had confirmed that the Ether coins were sent to the address I provided initially  which has now changed.

Definitely a scam and this guy is playing a very dangerous game, which includes wire fraud and identity theft.

"Lndrsn" has asked me to post the following:

Was it all lies??

"We provide constant backups and cold storage of coins for maximum security. In addition, we are constantly updating and improving the website's usability and interface. Because of this, everyone is happy to spend and receive Ether with peace of mind. "

I'm an Ethereum-Wallet.net user (lndrsn) I hold the following ETH wallet

0x36c5b7e8ad233f2ba2cdb84afe06897966dbdb46

I've had 27 ETH coins stolen ($10,497.32 (at the time of heist)). I haven't received any correspondence or manual disbursements.

As there was no alert to the robbery. I only discovered the theft of 27 ETH on the 12th June 2017.

I emailed [email protected] on the June 12, 2017 and also requested access to 'ethrestoreforum.freeforums.net'

I've not had any response to either email nor forum access requests. In my opinion, its becoming more likely that if I’m not getting 40% - there's not a great chance that anyone will receive anything further. And we have to admit it, we were all robbed by the owner of Ethereum-Wallet.net.

Only two meaningless admin updates have been posted on 'ethrestoreforum.freeforums.net' since Jun 13, 2017. It's appalling, there's no excuse for not corresponding and this illustrates that there is no team who make up Ethereum-Wallet.net - which used to boast:

"Our fast responding team is always ready to respond to inquiries and suggestions to our services. Just visit the control panel's support page whenever you have a question!"

Time won’t heal this, burying ones’ head in the sand won’t resolve it. If it’s to be resolved, involve us. All the users of the site have a vested interest in this and although annoyed, most of us will be rational. The rational approach is to work together.

This is the biggest financial loss I’ve personally experienced, I can't deny it is effecting daily life and sleep.

The rational mindset is fading, doubt about the "hack" has been present for days and suspicions increases by the hour.

If I were the owner of Ethereum-Wallet.net and had genuinely been hacked. I'd engage the authorities, I’d chase the transactions, I’d email shapeshifter.io, changelly and all other crypto exchange services. Engage everyone and simply provide daily updates.

Please admin, provide reassurance and correspond - You could have an army of people helping you. I will buy into the company. I already have.

If there's no response to this request or this post is removed. It will speak volume and enabled people like myself to pursue other options.

The only other option as I see it. The collective who have lost money, invest a little more to pursue you legally.

Another quote from your site "With tens of thousands of users, we're the best choice for everyone's Ethereum solutions." - Lots would disagree

www.worthofweb.com/website-value/ethereum-wallet.net/
Estimated visits per day: 4,591 visits / day
Estimated visits per month: 137,730 visits / month

If I recall the site Ethereum-Wallet.net displayed a copyright logo, if that was legit and owned - then it should be on a register.

An update a day seems like the better option. If it wasn't you and the hack was real, take a look at those closes to you, eventually the police will.

My first email to [email protected] was 170 hours ago, since my last email 92 hours (rounded down) have passed.

Please disburse my 10.8 Eth (40%) and an IOU for 16.2 Eth (60%)

lndrsn

I'm still totally in the dark.. No contact at all from the ethereum-wallet.net

I contact the site over 8 days ago via email and also requested to join the forum. I've had no response at all.

Any suggestions on setting up a dedicated site to hunt down the owner of ethereum-wallet.net?

If u look at how ETH were transferred out in round sum and greater than 10, there is no such thing as recovered ETH from the hack. All addresses with small ETH holding below 10 are not hacked but ETH transferred out by Ethereun-wallet. net and use to pay the 40%, this can be traced through Etherscan.

Can u ask all those who posted on Etherrestoreforum to also register in this forum to learn more things, more brains are needed to investigate the hack. According to the hack report around 700k in value was stolen, this match with my table showing the first breach.  The thief send
many 21 ETHs to Shapeshift probably to change to bitcoins, basing on the time Shapeshift could help to locate where the stolen money goes like to which wallet.

Followed the money it gets lost for me at Changelly, sent the following to the intermediatiary

Apologies for the direct approach but i'm lost as how to approach this from any other way. 13 days 19 hrs ago (May-31-2017 01:03:32 AM +UTC) all but a few dollars worth of my Ethereum coins were stolen. My Eth was held in a poor place. www.ethereum-wallet.net. I am to blame to for choosing such a poor wallet. However, the hot wallet site (www.ethereum-wallet.net) being hacked was the fault of the owners of the site.

The reason, i'm emailing you is that following the attackers transactions lead me to your processing site.

Good for u to report, was wondering whether the host Ethereum-walket.net make a report to US or Canadian cyber police about the hack, afterall so much money was lost and if u keep quiet, may indicate fraud. This forum has bad past record of the host  The name is David Fuu and all the information on him is correct. Since digital movement can be traced, everyone who has lost ETH should go to Etherscan and check their ETH movement and note the address where the ETH went.

Hi all,

I'm suffering from the loss of 27eth from the Ethereum-Wallet.net so called hack - i only discovered this yesterday by chance. I'm amazed no correspondence had been issued from the site owners.

The lack of information is currently distracting the bejeezus out of me, i've attempted to join Ethereum-Wallet.net Manual Disbursements Process via http://ethrestoreforum.freeforums.net but for the last 24 hours my membership request has the status of PENDING STAFF APPROVAL.

If anyone here has access and is using the Manual Disbursements forum, please can you post a notification into the group forum for the admin to approve outstanding access requests.

Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I can’t be certain, but there’s at least a good chance they are. I always recommend avoiding web wallets unless they don’t have your private key (with very few exceptions). Try using Jaxx or Coinomi to hold your ethereum instead.

The matter have gone worse now read this from their website,

Regretfully, our server (root account) was compromised two days after switching web hosting providers. We are still investigating how the attack happened.
The majority of the Ether was moved to: https://etherscan.io/address/0xef9e06ee6c6adde29237e55a20e6743c92575ebe by the attacker, and we are still investigating other addresses involved with the hack.
An attacker has moved most of the Ethereum on the website, but thankfully we have managed to recover some of the Ethereum.
We will be announcing a user reimbursement plan soon.

Brief Update
We plan to bring the website back up for reimbursements/withdraws by June 7th. It might be up earlier than that but due to manual withdrawals, it may take longer so we need users to hold on for a few days. We can't respond to individual cases just yet. Users will be issued separate tokens according to their previous balance based on a pool comprised of recovered tokens. We will raise additional funds to cover the remaining losses through the website's profits, and all future revenue will go towards this fund.
We have every intention to pay users back for their losses.
Following this event, we will change the implementation of our wallet to a client-sided model so this can't happen again.
Thank you for your patience.

i think is bad information if eth balance move to another addres
but is old storage addres is hack and move is no problem, but if online wallet use cold storage is bad service, because can't full control addres and balance

recomended etherum online wallet only myetherwallet.com

Bad idea to use that wallet while theirs myetherwallet who's been recommended to anyone and im wondering on how could people take those unknown services while they are dealing up their money on their, And look what is the result now they had been deceived so better used those most recommended so that our money will not be scammed by those fucking scamtards.

I have received a private message from one of the people on this thread who has lost a lot of money via the ethereum-wallet.net con. I am going to reply publicly to his two questions so as to help anyone else too, sorry if any of this info is just a repeat of that already posted:

The guy who runs the ethereum-wallet.net rip off is called David Fuu or David Fu. The email addresses I used to contact him (can't vouch they work now): davidfuu[AT]gmail.com (tip: google search that email address) and ethereum.contact[AT]gmail.com. I found his name via whois of some of the websites he runs (all backlinks to ethereum-wallet.net seem to be from his sites, though most have privacy protection). Since I got my money back all that time ago he has covered his criminal tracks more. You need to get law enforcement involved, how much is this guy stealing?! It won't stop until he is behind bars. Good luck.

I am in the same situation. I am about to email him however it looks as if he has tumbled the coins out 21 coins at a time to random wallets.
He is trying to hide his tracks. I'm not buying the BS he has posted on his site either.

A good friend of mine and I have been doing some digging and located a bit of information on him. I will be emailing him shortly with a letter from my lawyer demanding my ethereum back.
He basically just stole a a new cars worth from me.

Has anyone else been able to get their eth returned?

Umm...it might be:

Not knowingly my buddies and I opened a wallet with this guy on his website about 7 days ago. And today, when Ethereum is over $220...his site stops working. Then we get this message on his website:

An attacker has moved most of the Ethereum on the website, but thankfully we have managed to recover a portion of it from low balance accounts.
We will be announcing a user reimbursement plan soon.

Basically a bunch of bull@#%^.

I sent him a few emails tell him I'm not buying his attacker bullshit. But this is where I think my money went: https://etherscan.io/address/0x9b4167863b0ba8d91f7751517345a7d93880d6dc

We're the one's missing 2.34484481 Ether. Lesson learned. Hopefully he can at least return a mere 2.34 ether and is not be a greedy son of a bitch.

DO NOT USE: https://bitcoin-wallet.net/ IT IS A SCAM! It looks identical to his other scam site. Don't be fooled! Use https://www.myetherwallet.com and get your private key!

Yeah I lost 5 eth today... definitely a lesson learned, never trusting anyone with my keys again.

Never heard some good info's about that wallet and much better if you stick to myetherwallet since that is the most recommended wallet provider that we can stick out our ethereum assets and never trust any site that offering that since they might be a stealer and stole your balance in single blink of an eye.

Dammit, wish I'd done my adequate research and seen this thread earlier. Just transferred a pretty serious chunk of Eth to "my" wallet and it appears to not be processing. Have a very bad feeling about this. How could you guys recommend I proceed on trying to get my ethereum back off this guy? Is my blockchain history of any use?

I am having my RLC tokens in an address whose private key is being managed by them, don't know whether I did good or not. Should I now consider myself scammed or are they going to send me my tokens? Has anybody used them to get their RLC tokens in their ethereum-wallet.net wallet? I was stupid enough to trust them for this, now really don't know what should I do. Sad

Got my ether back  Grin ..
"The issue should be as soon as we need to restart the node." No matter got my ether back. After the support message I could run a transaction without problems. If it was to the fact that I wrote him on linkedin too, I don't know.
He is a student and it seems he is overwhelmed with this website  Undecided. Now I can't say whether it is scam or just technically badly done ...

They are not stuck they are stolen. I know you private messaged me, but I am afraid I don't have all his info anymore. This is the best I can do: His first name was David, he is Canadian possibly I think. I did a search on his website's name and studied the whois etc for all the backlinks to his website to find his name. Most are blocked but the process chucked up his name. All the backlinks are from his own websites. If I recall it was a short asian surname. His personal twitter account is: https://twitter.com/sixdegreesofsea
I harrassed him by email, which i think may be on his website anyway, ([email protected]) and also on twitter. However he has now blocked me on twitter and more importantly he has made his personal twitter account private. He'll probably delete it altogether after he reads this. The guy is an outright thief who should be in a prison cell. The police should identify the guy in the youtube video that is promoting his website, no doubt someone paid by "David" to read a script for that video. As that video has a person's face, maybe show it to the US and / or Canadian police. Sorry, I cant help further than that - I have spilled all my info. If the surname crops up somewhere I will post that too, but I think I lost it as it was on his personal twitter account, not any more.

How did you get any info from this guy?

He stole 88 Ethereum from me too last month.
Here is his reply:
"Sorry to hear that. I'm looking at your account address and the receiving address looks like it has a lot of transactions in it. We currently don't log any users' IP information so we can't help you with the logs unfortunately.

We're working on adding an additional 2FA security layer to the site due to ETH's popularity spike recently, hopefully that will prevent future issues."

I found his linked in Page, he has an address in the US.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I have threatened to report the guy for fraud. ETH not returned. This is his twitter account: https://twitter.com/EthereumWallets

The gmail email on it does work as I got one response about ETC I sent to one address on the wallet. But not returned and the request to have ETH, which is a lot, withdrawn has been met with total silence. It seems the withdrawal procedure does not actually work, deliberately. Just triggers a page saying 'wait for transaction to process' and it never does. This is a homemade website and I got suckered in by his promotional video, so stupid.

He is playing a very dangerous game. Pretending to be a wallet. A wallet would have automated withdrawal procedure. He is taking money by deception and this sort of scam potentially carries serious jail time. I have a couple of screenshots from the promotional videos he has had made, one of them may even be him. At worst both the guy in one and the girl in the other will know him because this is a one-man band operation, no doubt. I will report him to USA and Canadian authorities for fraud. I suspect, although he is pretending to be Seattle that he may be Canadian from one of his early twitter posts.

I now see the same guy has also opened: bitcoin-wallet.net
A second scam in the making?
Email them and link to this thread. If they care for anything they'll come here and defend their website.

Try to avoid online wallets at all costs. You never know what they are going to do. They can run at any point.

It is best to use a local wallet and if that really isn't possible, you can consider an exchange that has been around for ages. Note that I don't recommend an exchange for storage, but if local is not possible I would prefer it over a random online service.

Probably.

In a 1 minute quick search I found some results where brand new accounts were trying to recommend that site to others on various sites and all of them were from 4 months ago.

I'm only ever fine with a party having access to my private keys in case of major exchanges. Online wallets are a terrible idea.
