Is it possible if the whole thread get locked first then and just reopen it once a modertor is selected?
Yes.
If no mods can action to this yet then maybe it is better to just not allow these kind of actions yo be made by locking the whole section. Maybe most of our fellow members in there will come to their senses of their rubbish acts. This is not a suggetion to take away their freedom o speech in here, but more of a way to teach them o how to respect the forum specially the subsection that was recently given to us.
You're talking about the Philippines section, right? If so, I see a moderator appointed to it. You should start reporting posts or work with him directly (if he's willing to do so). Quite often it is uncertain if a post is going to be deleted because the poster is trolling/making useless posts/off-topic. Different moderators view the situation differently.

Yes. Thanks. Dabs has been appointed as a mod just today I guess. I hope the mess in there gets cleaned now. As you notice, the thread suddenly fell silent when dabs came lol. They stopped their shits already.

Unfortunately AFAIK that is not included in list of rules regarding fight not being allowed: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657
I've said multiple times that, that particular thread needs to be locked since it has been more of an off topic posts as long as I remember and those who post there make zero to no effort posts and get paid and the fun fact is in most other thread in our sub-forum, many of users post non contributing post to most of the other thread as well but since there's isn't a single moderator, they get away all the time. Prevention is always better than cure and from the looks of it, our section will turn out to be a complete waste if not being moderated.

Unfortunately most of the post in our section are all senseless. Is it possible if the whole thread get locked first then and just reopen it once a modertor is selected? I mean, they don't deserve to get paid for their no-effort posts and plus, their foul words only litter our place, nothing even contributes to each other, the more I visit the place, the more I realize that the longer their actions are not seen, the more they become selfish and does things which is I think against what should be in a forum etiqutte. If no mods can action to this yet then maybe it is better to just not allow these kind of actions yo be made by locking the whole section. Well if its in a language none of the existing moderators/glob moderators understand, that complicates things. Well @OP I'd advise you to keep the "Moderator for philipines" thread going, asking members who do not speak english to just drop a name and if someone is clearly more popular than others in terms of neutrality and whatnot, theymos will probably decide to give mod powers, after(you make another) thread in your sub-board about the potential moderator.

Thats how I know one moderator got selected anyway

I will try to put this one to action. I hope then our thread will be cleaned from these dirts. It's time our members learn to repect the forum and not just use their postings to earn. I mean it is ok to join a campaign but abusing a section to earn from it? I guess that is not gonna slip from my attention. Our actions should be corrected.

just dropping insults against someone in the middle of a thread that has nothing to do with the OP--those get deleted pretty quickly.

Like cooldgamer stated, fighting is OK as long as the fighting is close to on topic.  And I'd add that a lot of bickering that does stray off topic doesn't get deleted.  But this forum is one of the best I've seen as far as a balance between freedom and restriction.  You can say pretty much anything as long as it's on topic, use whatever foul language you want and so forth.  I'd rather have bickering than censorship.

Trolling is against the rules, though, so just dropping insults against someone in the middle of a thread that has nothing to do with the OP--those get deleted pretty quickly.

It depends on how off-topic the posts are, but generally the forum is uncensored unless something breaks one of the major rules (or is straight up spam).  However, I recommend messaging whoever is running their signature campaigns and directing them to the low quality posts.  It will more than likely get them a warning and possibly a pay docking which will help to cut down on it Smiley

There are people somewhere in this forum who are bickering at each other, my question is, is it allowed in this forum? Our subforum doesn't have a moderator yet and some people in there are getting paid with their signature campaign with their shit posts. I mean, wth? those posts are already offtopic they are just bickering with their nonsense, senseless posts.

I hope those kind of posts get deleted, it's only damaging the image of our board in here. -_-
