The "free money" they are trying to give you is what they called bait in order for you to send real money to them and that is where a lot of people are getting fooled because they only see the prize/reward and they are blinded because of it. Other scams similar to this are fake giveaways where in order for you to get the airdrop you must "verify" your address first by sending a minimum amount of crypto to them which is an obvious trap. It's very smart of you to sense the scam right away and I think in order for you to avoid this more is to just stop searching and searching for promos and giveaways since most of the things related to this could be scams.

I have a similar story:

Someone messaged me on Discord, found me through a crypto options trading group. Told me that if I could create a fortuncrypto account and help them withdraw 2.9 BTC they would "let" me keep 15%. He told me is name is "Dan" and he is from Poland. Okay, "Dan from Poland"...

I figured I would waste a scammer's time, and was surprised that I actually saw an account balance of 2.9BTC once I gave him the transfer address through the site. Then I found out I have to make a 1% deposit to activate the account. I could not verify legitimate traffic to the site, the create date from registry didn't match the information on the site, and even the details given on the website as to how the service work did not stand up to scrutiny -- oh and they provide a link to a scamming Chrome extension that reads your copy/paste clipboard, presumably to test wallet addresses!

I tried to see if anyone in the chat would reveal clues, but I was banned immediately after I started asking how withdrawals work.

Total scam. Don't give them a penny.

i will say my experience with that website.

A discord user add me and ask me for help because he live in china and can't withdraw on this website.
He send me a transfer of 1 btc and ask me for withdraw for him... BUT

First the system of fortunecrypto.net ask me 0.02 btc before withdraw to verify my account because i'm new user... well

After that when i ask a withdraw the system ask me a commission of 0.03 btc for pay fees of withdraw. The commission need to pay with do a deposit !!!
And finaly when i deposit the commission, the system ask me another commission with an amount of 0.025 btc...
The support says me the system don't say the full amount of commission and ask me to do another deposit for pay commission.

This website is definitely a big SCAM !!

The support chat answer fast for a better illusion of trust.

Beware !!!
Never do a deposit on fortunecrypto.net !!!

Not the site gives me free BTC, someone said to me i should create account there and then i made it and he transfered me btc there or nothing, thats what i would lije to know.
Which is pretty much the same thing. Someone telling you they will send you money over a random website should ALSO be an obvious one.

Yes, I also often receive like that after we have registered on their website, they will transfer their BTC to my account, and after withdrawing, they must deposit first, I often receive this offer from someone in a telegram that is not known at all.
So that's their trick to spread FUD everywhere.

Okay interesting. Thank you.

Hello do some of you have experience with fortunecrypto.net? Its suspicious that I need to deposit before I can withdraw BTC funds there, which were sent by someone to me there

First time I encounter that site they are using a cex.io script and checking all the post here and the information contain in their websites, they are deceiving people, why would they claimed that they started their project 2013 when obviously they bought the domain just last week, I will never trust a site that has deception in their page and no team members to show.
Yes true I understand your point. I will not deposit there

Wow I'm surprised to see this I thought someone is accusing me, for the record, I don't have anything to do with this project, it's just a namesake and I don't recommend that you trust it right away, checking their traffic, it seems they are a new site, no team behind it looks dubious, I will support a flag if there is a bad report on this.

And I think this one deserves a red flag they just set it up ten days ago but look https://fortunecrypto.net/about
they claimed that they started 2013 so beware putting your money here

Ok thank you for advice, this is the reason I asked here before I try it out with deposit

Yes, it's a scam.

EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE THAT GIVES *FREE MONEY* AND REQUIRES A DEPOSIT BEFORE WITHDRAWAL IS A SCAM. That should be an obvious one for people.
