You should know that every business in one way or the other has its negative sides.. just like gambling, it affects it's players psychologically or emotionally, that isn't a reason for the government to just wake up one morning to put an end to it.. remember gambling is a choice, and every man has his right to do what he wants so long he doesn't break the laws guiding the land. Gambling has been existing for generations not just now. the people of the old gambles in different ways, just that it has been advanced into more interesting ways.. the government yea they also partake in the revenue that gambling generates as it's a way of bringing back some money to the economy...

Every type of business is making money off of the citizens. If the people don't follow it the way it should be and are abusing it, it's not just in gambling.

Gambling for sure is designed to favour the owners the most, but that does not mean that people don't benefit from it; the sole purpose of gambling is for entertainment, which is enough reason for it to be licensed by the government. If the gambler is gambling irresponsibly, it's not the fault of the government; it's their own fault. We should stop shifting blame.

Government should not allow knife in their country because it can kill. Or government should not allow matches and lighters in their country because they can produce fire that can grow and burned down many places. Or the government should not allow paper money because it is used by many kidnappers, bandits and terrorists.

Everything that has advantages in life has disadvantages.

Gambling is one activity that is backed and made legal by many countries of the world and with my check it's a good source of revenue to the government

But looking critically at gambling and it's effects to the citizens of a country especially when you consider the negative sides
what gambling does to people as chronic gamblers can do anything to bet as they have been so engulfed with gambling that it has become an addiction to them and this can lead them to do some unlawful activities like stealing to bet and even depression and other sociological problems which can become a trouble to the government itself

But the question is how can any responsible government of any state allow such business to be licensed and be carried out in their country just because of the monetary benefits and putting the life's of their citizens at risk.
