the coin I want to buy is digibyte, I checked on binance but they do not offer it...

And not in one billion years will Gemini offer anything like that.

You can see where it is traded here - https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/digibyte/trading_exchanges#panel

The only places I'd consider on that list would be Bittrex, Poloniex and Kucoin. Bittrex and Poloniex are currently changing jurisdictions and ownership and probably won't let you do anything without handing over your ID so there's that to bear in mind if it bothers you.

Kucoin I think let you trade without ID up to a certain limit. People seem to like Kucoin the best but it has lower volumes for that project.

I currently have a binance account but cant purchase coins that I would like to due to them not being available there. coinmarketcap suggested gemini so im wondering if this is a good place for buying? im a complete beginner so all opinions will be appreciated.

Which coins are you looking to buy/sell from Gemini. Gemini only offers trading in 5 or 6 coins and all of those are avaible in Binance too. You need to tell us which coin coinmarketcap refereed to use Gemini ?
The volume of that exchange is so low that you will not find any good experience of trading. Better stick with binance or other popular exchanges.

jesse florian, if you write what coin is about, you'll get an answer which exchange would be best as an alternative to Binance. The simplest way would be to look for the coin in coinmarketcap and to click Markets tab where you should see all available exchanges for that coin, with ones with the highest volume on the top.

Binance currently supports 568 pairs, so it can be assumed that you're looking for some exotic coin, and such coins are mostly listed on some shady exchanges.

If there were UK banking options it would be my first choice but perhaps OP has been directed to another site because they only have a handful of coins.

New users should be aware of their fee structure.

The app charges more than the website. Also you have to contact support and ask for active trader status which will reduce your website fees further. They won't change it unless you specifically ask.

What kind of coin you wish to buy at them? maybe you should know the risk beneath them since they are unknown exchange and never in my life trade on those exchange so if you still want to buy your desired coin then maybe risk those amount what you can afford to lose and don't put to much since for what I see Gemini got low volume and so questionable since I think they are new(correct me there if I'm wrong calling them new).

I am not sure if we are talking about the same exchange but AFAIK you can only trade 5 coins on Gemini which are BTC, BCH, ETH, ZEC and LTC. All of them are listed on Binance.
It has a good reputation but since it operates from the US I think you will have to complete the KYC procedure to be able to use their services.

I've been using Gemini for some time. The fees on the exchange can be rather steep, at roughly 2%, assuming you are purchasing at larger volumes. The exchange has a comparably lower volume as compared to the other exchanges. The design is easy enough to navigate around but I wouldn't recommend using it as an exchange if you're a frequent trader.

Though I really can't comment on Gemini because I have no experience of using it, it's one of the most reputable exchanges that is based in the United States; with them being founded by the Winklevoss twins(the 2 bulk dudes that Zuckerberg stole the Facebook idea from). If your country is supported, it's probably worth checking out. If you didn't like it, Coinbase and Kraken is also good.
