Your country may be your worst enemy
You shouldn't worry about that. US immigration services have a lot to do these days, and they deal with much wilder things than whatever an individual can do with cryptos. Well, if you deal with hundreds of BTC, that's another matter, but I guess you this isn't your case.

From your post one can understand that you are in the United States with the H1B visa, which is granted to foreigners to work in the States. Though there is nothing wrong if you buy/sale/trade bitcoins, at the same time the authorities will come on hard if they suspect you are in some money laundering stuffs.

As in selling to customers?

Your main concern will be about being nailed to wall for money transmitting. If you don't get a licence for that in most states you're going to have a bad time.

Other than that I assume an H1B would only allow you to work for the company you're sponsored by. They may get very funny about self employment of some sort.

It is legal or not nobody knows except government, because people with half knowledge will give various suggestions. Please reach out to US embassy or take some advise from Legal Experts.

Hi,

I am currently on H1B Visa and wish to know if I can buy/sell Bitcoin Ethereum on H1B Visa. I know for a fact that crypto is treated as property and not currency, but would like to get insight on this before I start exchanging Bitcoins/Ethereum/Altcoins.

Thanks!
