better everyday ♥
I came across the topic in OP  Smiley It is an overview of his personal services, I think each guy can create a thread about their services, that's fine. As for the guy you mentioned, it looks like 🔥🔥🔥★OVERVIEW OF SERVICES★🔥🔥🔥 is redundant, because he had ANN. if you want to create an overview of all the services offered, it's perfectly fine for everyone, or if you want to create a theme for yourself, it's still okay, plagiarism doesn't appear here  Wink

I took the question asked by the OP as a request to copy an old thread in order to add new comments in a new thread. To my mind, that is plagiarism. If you want to reopen an old topic, then you should link to the dormant thread, and add comments to justify an updated discussion.

Well yeah, but I think he's asking if it's ok to keep the exact format and update it himself by creating the exact same thread. If he wants to run that sort of thread I think he should just create his own thread and format it in his own way with original work. This would avoid plagiarism.

Hence, as long as he has granted your permission to continue the thread, you can. But then, copying the idea of that thread is somehow plagiarism and stealing of one's intellectual property. Better to search or find new ideas of threads while waiting. And if ever you really want to push urself posting the same thread idea, make sure to paraphrase and properly cite your source. But then again, better not to do it without any further permission with the original content creator. Because, who the hell wants to have his idea being used and stolen wihtout any consent right?

Merely copying the 'idea' of the thread wouldn't really be plagiarism. Plenty of users create these sorts of list/overview threads for all sorts of things, but basically quoting the entire thread and keeping it updated would be a different story. He should obviously get permission from the original thread creator, but that's going to be difficult if the person is awol.

I have found few threads that are not updating as they should be because of the in-active OP of those threads. So I'm asking here, can we publish a new thread where we re-post those threads text/designs and starts updating them on a daily basis.

One example here; 🔥🔥🔥★OVERVIEW OF SERVICES★🔥🔥🔥

I guess the OP was just recently busy. His last activity/post was way back Nov. 2019 and his last day of active is January 06 of this year.
He also mentioned that he will be busy (from his last reply on that thread):

Sorry for the inconvenience mate as i only have limited time for now. This thread will be updated as soon as i have time.

Yes. You would also be able to create your own thread like that regardless of whether it was updated or not as nobody has a monopoly on those sorts of threads and people run them differently and sometimes with different criteria so it wouldn't be a dupe per se.

Edit: Just an update, I would be careful of plagiarising something here. It might be frowned upon if you just copied their thread exactly the same with the same images and format etc, but if someone has been awol for a while maybe that wouldn't be so bad. I would give credit to the original if so.

I'd say it's fine...

Doesn't even seem like much of a question. You want to reopen a locked thread? As long as you're not plagiarising the old OP then you'll be able to open a thread.

In the OP or the first reply post just state why you made the thread, and link the reference to the old thread if you want to (it also allows for people to see if a question has already been asked in the other thread that they had without having to write a reply especially if the question/answer is trivial).

12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).

My question is, what if you've made the thread but in no meantime, the OP gets back and opens it again? I think it's probably for best if you pm first the OP  then ask permission if he will allow it or even open it and you'll be the one to update it on a daily basis.
I'd say that rule is actually a little ambiguous, if the OP left, locked their thread and just left then a new thread could be created on the same board then.
I think this is to stop people from making an announcement and then a discussion thread on a load of other boards. Like a bitcoin/altcoin service posting 2 announcement, 2 discussion and just littering boards...

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Seems that is another scenario to be tackled with and I guess only the mods and admins can answer it. I've re-read the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ and found this on the rule and I think that applies to this case (correct me if I'm wrong).
