I doubt you can recover them by software. If the sector in which they where saved was overwritten is not an option. But perhaps you can get one of those expensive data recovery services to try to recover it by tearing apart the disc and using their special tools.

Good luck!

I doubt it will work, but you can try using Recuva to find your lost wallet. I saw another guy had done it and found his wallet, but the wallet.dat file was corrupt, so it didn't work. Worth a shot though, I guess.

yeah I'm going to try some 3rd party programs and see if they can recover it, would be nice to not only find the wallet.dat uncorrupted but have 100 coins it....heh.. Wink

I have a old computer I stopped using ago with a BTC wallet from probably early 2011, the problem is in the period between 2011 and when I stopped using the computer in 2012, it probably has had anywhere from 2-4 complete reformat's on the pc.........

I have no idea how many coins if any where in that wallet, but it had to be a few....

so is very deep deep deep data recovery possible or will I waste my time trying to do this.. Cool
