The logic for investment is buying low and selling high and currently Bitcoin has a new ATHs is it safe to encourage new investor to buy now seeing how high the price has gone? My fear for new investors is that the don't experience a dip after buying since no one is sure of how far the new highs will reach.

Right now is a good time to think about investing long/short term Tongue

The general criteria is to buy when the market is at its lowest. However, it is difficult to assess when that will happen. So, there is always a risk. Buy it when you’re ready!

However, when you buy, make sure you buy cryptocurrencies with proper fundamental analysis. There are trusted cryptos like Ethereum and Bitcoin, which are safer than the others to start.

Yes, it's still safe to buy now despite the ATH price though the basic of cryptocurrency investment is to buy low and sell high.
I believe that the longevity of a crypto should be the basic investment decision strategy people should use whenever they want to invest in crypto and this is the reason investment in Bitcoin will always be the best.
Having said that, every time is good to invest in crypto

Everytime is a safe period  to buy coin, depending on the money you have at hand.

Depending on the money you have at hand, and the terms you are considering, I would add. It is not the same to focus in the short term (even intra-day trading) where you can get some good profits or tremendous losses due to this market's volatility, as to focus in the long term where you choose yourself the price milestones as objectives on when to sell.

As a relative of a friend of mine has always said: "On the stock market, you never lose until you sell"; I would apply this sentence also to crypto, so, if you predict that you will have to sell sooner rather than later in order to pay for something in the real life, chances are that you will lose some money...
That is because we couldn't underestimate the volatility of the market. As long as it remains like that, losing is not impossible and if you can't sell them at a higher price, not just you only lose money but also our time. Can't imagine doing that either. Choosing the right investment is very important and to think about safe? Crypto investment doesn't have that feature that is why we call this risky investment but I'm sure that if you only choose those potential coins this time (like BTC), you can really make a profit from it.

High risk, high rewards and its also good to invest on some tokens around since this could bring us more profit than old coins around but the thing to earn we need to know when to exit since if we just go there and hold since you believe on the hype what dev posted or any supporter then maybe you are doing a bad decision on your life. And to minimize the risk we need to study on what we are going into since this can give us a little safe space in terms of our investment.

Yeah, I agree with but it was important as well to have a good choice of coins to invest, not just because of its price as our basis.
Perhaps, a lot of people have that kind of mistake (I admit myself of doing that before until I learn something) that is why instead of making a profit after, losses are what they've got.
To ask if it is safe to buy? That certainly depends on us coz the truth is that SAFE is something that relies on us individually.

That holds truth to some extent. If the company goes belly up or pull some reverse stock split, it's gonna be more than simply paper loss.

Everytime is a safe period  to buy coin, depending on the money you have at hand.
It is the money in your wallet that determines the amount of coin you buy at a given period of time, and no time is best or bad,in as much as the price is down, buy it,that's why there is need to always monitor it and know when it price is down and when it's up.The best time to get it is when it is down,so always be on your chart to check.

If you see that it is down,do not hesitate to make your purchase, and wait for the outcome.

It depends on what strategy you will use and your target.

Bitcoin reaches $68k this year and now it dumps to $55k, I guess it has already dipped hard enough giving us an opportunity to earn in short term. However, it does not guarantee anything as $55k might is already the lowest as it could dip further and that could result to panic transforming the market from bull market to bear market.
yes the bear market has come and is currently dominated by the bear market. But the bitcoin price was able to hold on and eventually bounced back. Chance to buy cheaper before hitting new ATH again.
When the bull market has returned again people will panic buy.
We'll see if before the end of the year bitcoin is able to get a new ATH again.

I'm still optimistic about the end of the year. Thanksgiving has always been a catalyst for crypto somehow. But it is true that an ATH may not be the best moment to buy.

For short term or very long term it could work, but for medium term, the market could turn bearish at any moment. Or did that only happen in 2017?

currently there seems to be a lot of bearish sentiments on the markets and if you could wait for a little longer, you should be able to pick up much

cheaper coins than they are. But at current  price of $56k it is not a bad price either as we know it has potential to jump back at its all time high($65k),

which is a 16% gain waiting to be picked up if you enter now.

"Is it safe to buy now?" is a question that is bound to fuel many replies each person having their own unique reason for either telling you to buy or not to buy. A question like that is a sensitive question and at the end of every reply, IMO one should always be quick to point out that their reasons are personal and not in any way should be considered as a financial advice, to avoid being blamed for loss of ones portfolio.

I believe it is not safe to buy now because the  price are currently going down, and nobody knows where dip the dumping price will stop. So my candid advise to everyone to be watching the market for now. It will be more  save to buy when Bitcoin price started pumping again but stil depending on time to hold, if you can hold for a long period of time you can buy because it will surely pump one day.

It is safe or not to buy now depending on the type of investment that you will apply. If you want to make a long term investment, you just have to buy it at the support price and then leave it until your long term target is reached.

But if you want to get a faster profit, you can make short term investments or use the scalping method. and this requires intense market observation. in every purchase you have to pay attention to is the lowest support, use your mainstay indicator to determine it.

The investment logic based on my assumption is buy when you agree to buy it and sell when your expected target is reached. You don't need to buy when the price is down because it's still possible to think that the bitcoin you bought at that time was a low price bitcoin before the price went up like when you wanted to buy at ATH $30K. Of course there are other factor that make you buy and that is strong fundamental analysis and support such as hype after positive news about bitcoin.

Investment risk is always there and no investment is without risk but there are successful tips to minimize your investment risk in bitcoin and that is consistency to keep your bitcoin safe in the wallet no matter what happen in the market or in other words is hold. We always see correction, this is an normal which is also referred to as volatility caused by supply and demand situation. Of course bitcoin investment is not only about 1 to 2 months, it is a long term investment where you have to be patient to enjoy your future results.

Well you have to focus your portfolio management. You can't say which one is right time exactly. Although we can't see our future. But if you are good to analysis you can predict it .
As a coin there's 2 possiblity win or lose. You can't say which one you. But if you are good in analysis you can predict and made yourself safe.

Jus flow your trade with market condition. If get panicked you won't win. Happy Trading 😇

Bitcoin briefly slipped and touched support at $58,500 region today. I already spot a reversal on the 4hr TF. I think you may want to get in now before it rises more so you can be seen getting in at a better entry. The expectation is that Bitcoin will overtake its previous ATH before the end of 2021. But it's better to get in at a lower price to maximize ROI. It's now trading at $60,800 and that's still a great bargain to get in at that price.

Kindly look out for projects with low market cap and help yourself by doing some reading and research, they will worth you thousands in the future even if the market collapse.
Sadly, a lot of people think investing in alts is bad news and too much of a risk. But what you said there is apt and true.

Traders buy low and sell high. Bitcoin price is high right now but don't let that stop you. It is better to have a little bitcoins than nothing. Why stay in a bitcoin forum if you do not have Bitcoin. Draw a good support line at what price you want to buy. Only put as much money you can afford to lose.

In my little knowledge and experience I have, I think buying bitcoin at any time is safe, because bitcoin has a great future in cryptocurrency, and many companies are willing to accept bitcoin as a mode exchange. The trust people have on bitcoin will always encourage people to buy bitcoin because bitcoin will surly pump.

I had a funny thought when I saw the thread title, Is it safe to buy now?

I have a funny thought whenever I see questions like this. How will the OP feel when he gets back to this in 2 or 3 years?

It probably won't be much different from how we all feel when we read similar questions from 2017 or 2018.  Smiley

The logic for investment is buying low and selling high
This is mainly the logic behind trading not investing. When you trade, specifically in short term, you are looking for dips to buy in and to sell in a very short time afterwards.
However, when you make an investment you look at the long term potential of the asset and whether it has reached that potential yet or not.

And unfortunately too many newbies do the opposite, buy high and sell low.

I had a funny thought when I saw the thread title, Is it safe to buy now?
not if you are planning to buy off someone down a dark alley some night!

With a long term outlook, the right time to buy is NOW

If newbies have a trading view they will almost certainly fail.

I think this is the right logic and guide for new in terms of investment when the price goes down then the right time has come to buy and Hodl it until the price is up.
you can be waiting for the price to depreciates before you could buy a coin "it's good option in other way round" but think of the process whereby the coin you are waiting to come down a little bit before buying keep on going up or accelerating, i only suggestion goes this way, provided that you are an investor that will keep your coin for long time, you have to purchase any point in time, because irrespective of the amount you purchase right now if it's allow to stay for long time, probably you will make a profit.

Buying anything whether it's crypto, stock, commodity or any other thing at its ATH is not recommended not only for newbies but also for experienced user. At ATH, the experienced users sell there coins while newbiea made mistakes of buying it. If you are new comer then not to invest right now, if you have some knowledge then invest only 20 to 30 percent of your capital.

I Still keep advising anyone, anytime is safe to buy any coin because you don't know and can never tell the increment; if its going to be positively or the otherwise.
When bitcoin reduced to 17k dollars, did anyone know that was gonna happen? No!
So someone might still refuse to buy at that point anf believe that it's not going up any longer, but surprised that btc still rose back and its still going ....
It isn't always certain op that why to my own discretion,i said anytime is safe , who knows

There are some conditions:
- We don't know how dip or how high exactly Bitcoin will be in the next hours or days or weeks or months etc
- Investment will always require risks, at whatever rate you are entering, it will always require risks.
For Bitcoin itself, just decide the target of sell that you want to do, for day trading, short or long term.
- Never invest if you are still doubtful and afraid of the risks.
- Think about the risks and profits to gain in probabilities.

I suggest they buy bitcoin for a long-term investment if the price is not increasing so high or surpassing $80k. If the price can jump from $64k to $70k, then they can sell their bitcoin and wait for another correction that will come after that. This correction reached a low price and hopefully, that is the lowest price for now and the price will increase or jump to $70k because we see the price is back to the green area.

Hopefully, the investor knows how to manage the risk to prevent the losses that can come to them. But bitcoin is good for a long-term investment so they should not worry about that.
Without ignoring the potential for a large dump or correction, anyone looking to buy for long-term investment purposes should have a mindset that can make them very comfortable with their bitcoin. It is clear to be a fact that correction are still going on all the time and investors should stick with their investment regardless of what issues happen to bitcoin like fud or any other negative news.

Investing is easy when we have faith in a certain asset, bitcoin for example. But what is difficult is maintaining consistency and defend the ultimate goal of the asset we have invested in when price and market trend change quickly.

i do said it time without number, because many people don't get the concept of buying cryptocurrency during the time of investment, in actual sense everyone is expected to buy when the price is at low rate and sell when it increases, but buying a coin during time is accelerated is depends the time frame the coin is going be with you before selling, any investor should have target point to sell. From my views i believe that provided that the investment will take long time before selling it, you don't have to reason the price difference because the more you hold the more the price will appreciate or getting accelerated.

This time is still good to buy but always be careful because the market now is at the bear market that can lead to the down of the price for more.
We are still in a bullish phase even though you saw the correction in the last 24 hours. There is a growing belief from the public that the end of 2021 will be the peak of bitcoin's price hike where opinion about the current bear market may not be relevant to most people. As you said, please make a purchase if they have considered the risk because no one dares to guarantee the future price of bitcoin. This bitcoin price is built on the trust of its community where increasing demand make it even more expensive.

Two thing can be done to bitcoin if they want to invest now, buy it for a long term investment or buy it for currency immediately after purchase. This will make the investor or adopter reduce the risk of frustration if the price dump.

For me if am buying and holding a coin for a long term I always buy at the particular price I don't really care about the dip because nobody knows when the dip will come and you might be expecting dip and the coin will continue pumping. If you are a day trader or mid term trader o believe you will definitely need to do your fundamental analysis before entering the market but me since am a long term trader I don't really care about the dump.

I would say, go ahead and buy the coin you are looking for. If you are looking for Bitcoin then yes you can invest your money on at any moment without hesitation.
This is only recommended if you're going to hold at least few months or a year considering bitcoin price is at 64k, though it reaches 68k just days ago, but who knows it will reach again sooner. Coz once bitcoin dumps which is likely to happen, you will end up losing once you panic and sold off your holdings. But if we reach another ATH in few days or weeks then you win.

I only recommend is buy, hodl, wait and get profit.

To me it's safe and better to buy Bitcoin when the price is down and sell when the price is low. The reasons why I buy when the price is down is that i can afford to buy Bitcoin according to my financial status. I sell when the price is high because I know I might have gotten profits from the amount of Bitcoin I bought when the price was down .

There is always a saying like, B,auy when the coin is at dip and sell when it is high. If you are comfort enough to wait and buy the coin you are looking for, then yes wait for its dip and buy but if you feel that the coin has almost reached its bottom.

However, I would say, go ahead and buy the coin you are looking for. If you are looking for Bitcoin then yes you can invest your money on at any moment without hesitation.

You don't have to invest heavily, diversify them in proportion to how potential they are likely to be in the future. Also make sure to invest in what you can afford to loose, this is crypto and its very volatile in nature.
The low market cap can look promising but there is no guarantee that the project to reach a better position in the future. The best thing you can do is research one by one and make a list to investigate furthermore.

This time is still good to buy but always be careful because the market now is at the bear market that can lead to the down of the price for more.

If you are new investor then my sincere advice is to stay away from current bullish market rather study the market and build your knowledge. It's not recommended to buy a coin when it's at its ATH. This is the time when wise investors sell their coins while people at mistake buy the coins. "Buy when everyone fears to buy and sell when everyone greedy to buy - Warren buffet

If you're prolly considering purchasing a (pump and dump) altcoin for example, then you can consider how high the price of the coin is before you buy it, it could dump immediately you make a purchase and prolly wouldn't rise again, that's how pump and dump coins work, I believe those are the coins that you actually have to make sure you buy when their prices are pretty low and never when it is high. But having said that, if Bitcoin is the coin in question, and you're prolly not one "get rich quick" investor, then you can buy whenever you decide to and hodl, you could also just find a strategy at building up your stash gradually, as long as you've done your research into the history of the network, then you'd understand that in the long run, you'll profit.

The problem with every market is that no one knows when to expect a dip...

Maybe the author should ask the fortune teller, Lol.
Some of the ways traders determine to enter and exit are using either technical or fundamental analysis. Some tools in trading have been equipped with various analytical tools and need to be aware that the patern chart has been agreed upon by the world's crypto community. You should use that, even though analysis is only a small part of the success factor of buying or selling.
I think for now if BTC repeats candle 2017, maybe it will reach a new ATH again. I suggest to the OP, if you want to enter the market I think for the short term, because the risk is smaller.

The logic for investment is buying low and selling high and currently Bitcoin has a new ATHs is it safe to encourage new investor to buy now seeing how high the price has gone? My fear for new investors is that the don't experience a dip after buying since no one is sure of how far the new highs will reach.

Everytime is safe to buy, the main question is that  are you willing to take a risk for your investment?
Cause we all know that bitcoin is volatile we cannot predict if the price is still increasing or it will decrease, or Bitcoin will remain in the future.

Take start of 2020 for example. $7000 was not exactly the dip or the most optimal entry point because price went as low as $3800 after that.
In this scenario as an investor you shouldn't care about what possible dips can occur in short term but you should focus on how much potential bitcoin has at that point in time. Since $7k was still under-valued it made it an excellent entry point for an investor and if you had bought bitcoin at $7k back then, today you could have increased your money by about 10 times in only a year.

But for a short term trader, things are different. The same $7k price was a terrible entry because a trader wants to sell as soon as possible and take the profit out and shortly after we know that price dropped as low as $3.8k.

As I explained a simple question should be asked (which has a hard answer):
Is bitcoin under valued or over valued right now?

My only advice is that the only time that you shouldn't buy bitcoin is when it is in a bubble, otherwise you can buy it at any time and any price and in long term you will not be sad. Right now we are at least $340,000 away from being in a bubble.

Actually not advisable cause price can fluctuate so hard close to their early price. This happened when the market experience crash or really bad day from fuss and uncertainties. New investors entering a high price could lose a lot of money but also they could end up regretting not to enter since price could still sky rocket. No one can turn back time to bring back the price of a token with a very cheap price, but hence no one want to lose either. Its a risk that anyone should be prepared of.

If those investors can think about the future and what can happen to bitcoin, they will start to buy now and hold it for a while.
They will be wise to manage their time to buy bitcoin and only buy bitcoin when the price is down and not try to buy when the price starts to increase.
Those investors should know that after the price reach the peak, the price will go down and make a correction for a while, so that could be their good time to accumulate more satoshi.
Hopefully, they can use bitcoin for their long-term investment or use bitcoin for making money.

Do not encourage anyone to buy if you are still hesitant to do it yourself. The logic is correct that buy dips and sell high, but this is a trade you can recommend for beginners who are new to bitcoin. If they are investors then they will just focus more on getting long term profit where they may not really care about the bitcoin price when they want to buy it.

We are not responsible for encouraging anyone to get involved in this investment. If someone ask for your advice then it is better if you also tell them about the risk of this investment which is not only about price volatility but also security risks lurking.

The logic is true buying dip and selling high, but the main problem is when it should apply. No one could give you a solution to this question. If you ask me, then I won't buy Bitcoin right now. Most probably I will have to wait for a dip at least below $50K. But sadly we don't know either it will drop below $50K, or when it will drop. The decision is quite complicated and financial which only should be made by you or your financial advisor.

To be honest I am waiting for a few days to buy Bitcoin. But seems rather than drop more dip Bitcoin pumping hard and creating a new ATH few days gap. So ultimately I regret it why not buy before. So please think deeply about when you should take entry exactly.

It is not safe to buy if you are if you are going to play roulette.

If instead you are investing long-term in bitcoin because it is something you have studied, that you know its intrinsic properties, that you believe in its long-term future and its importance to human history, then the best day to buy bitcoin would be today. The second best day was yesterday, but you can't go back in time.

We are currently at a particular season when this question arises. Is it safe to buy now? In other words, is it safe to buy during an ATH? Or is it wise to buy during an ATH?

There is no straight answer to this since the ATH of today may not anymore be the ATH of tomorrow. Meaning, the answer could be yes. But it is also possible that after reaching an ATH, the price will correct. So it could also be a no.

But what is crystal clear, however, is that those who bought during the ATH of 2013, 2017, 2020, and early 2021 all made a profit. That is, if they met the single condition which is that they did not sell at a loss.

So going back to the question, is it safe to buy during an ATH? I'd say yes! The perfect time to buy Bitcoin is always now! But with one condition: that you are in it for the long-term. You'd experience a very rough ride but it will always be worth it if you just HODL.

On this note, we applaud those who bought at $20,000 during the 2017 ATH and continued to HODL until and beyond 2021.

The risk was always a partner in all kinds of investments, if you investors understand the basic risk of investing in Bitcoin, then, there's no problem at all.
We can't predict what will happen next, even when Bitcoin was at the price of $30k everyone was talking about "is this the best time to invest? " and then Bitcoin has been folded x times still asking and have fear to invest and yet they don't have the plan to invest because of fear.

So be it, and understand the risk, there's no safe at all, as long as you are holding until there's your profit come, you will be safe at all.

Others have set their target profit and held Bitcoin until it will reach the target, look around, Bitcoin has gained massive adoption and I think there will be new ATH will come.

I mean, I'll talk from a personal experience, but I personally also never experienced the dip so to say, because I invested and then waited for 2 years to even look at it. The name of the game is the long haul IMHO and that's where buying low or a bit higher makes no difference whatsoever, especially if you truly believe in your investment.
But the price today compared to the price before is different so any new institutional investors would think twice to make sure they won't risk that much by investing in Bitcoin. It's not bad to hodl if you like to make sure your investment would gain much profit but let's not forget when to take profit. Although, this is a very good choice for day traders but for long time hodlers I don't think there will be a right time for them to sell their Bitcoin since they were just holding it like forever. It may depends on their personal choice I guess but whatever as long as we are confident with our investment we can do whatever we want with it.

And to OP, this question has been asked a lot during the ATH or bull run and the most common answer your would see is that "no one knows".

Depends on the buyer. But I think it's better to wait for the BTC price to drop again. Because logically we trade for profit. When the price of BTC goes down we buy and when the price goes up we sell again. The most important thing in trading we have to be patient and use logic. Don't trade because of emotions.

The topic of this thread is one question that has been asked one too many times on the forum. Perhaps this is selective as per the fact that, it talks about the new high, the facts that follows doesn't make it any less different from the previous high. Same replies, Same comments always goes. There is no best time to buy bitcoin, not even at a supposed dip because, that dip might turn out not to have been the deepest dip. For sure, your likely to make more profit from buying at a dip but, when your unable to determine a dip, your best chbace for safety lies in your investment plan.

Highs can be broken  at anytime and so, having a good investment plan, being able to let time pass for your plans ok a coin to actualize and you make profit becomes the point of it all. So, keep calm and pile up Satoshis when you can and while you can.

It's never 100% safe to buy. People encourage newcomers to buy, because they don't care if they can experience a loss or not. But if you tell people to buy and HODL, then you can do it at any time, because they will make profit in the long run if they don't panic sell.

I prefer not to encourage new investors to buy either and do not offer financial advice, rather I'll give you as much tools that I can and help you through to understand the basics of Bitcoin, what makes it valuable and what puts it ahead of the thousands of other cryptocurrencies, you can then make an informed decision to buy or not.

I'll personally buy at this price regardless if how high it is, but if I encouraged someone to, the market could change and they would likely react differently than I would.

It's always safe to encourage people to buy bitcoin after you educate them the potential of it. But to encourage them at certain prices, you have to tell them that it can go down anytime after purchasing or up.

It lies to the decision of the person that would want to buy. As for us, we have no problem, we buy at tops and lows and it doesn't matter because we're long term visionary and holder of bitcoin. But to the newer ones, they find it hard to understand as they look at the peak prices and if they're aware of 2017, they might feel that it's not going to work if they buy at the peak.

The problem with every market is that no one knows when to expect a dip...

I think anyone entering or thinking of buying more needs to consider both the upsides and downsides of investing and not investing and try to gain confidence in not selling when the price drops if you're wanting to make a profit (ifsomeoje wanted the orchestrate a bull trap, they could probably still do it and knock the price down to scare investors - I'm not completely sure this isn't what happens in normal markets to make a crash so institutions/investors can buy cheaper)...
