It actually depends upon the project. Because there are those that cannot reach their target thats why the project does not become successful. But you just have to choose a project that is reliable yet interesting. And remember that ICO is investment and investment always have some risk
ICO - is an investment. Any investment is risky. You take to whole responsibility for the money you invested in ICO. If learn everything about the project, the team, read whitepaper, etc., you reduce the risks.

For me, ICO is like a jungle. There are a lot of resources inside that you can take home but if your not prepared, the jungle will eat you alive. ICO are great as long as you manage to study and pick-up the right and legit ICO. But if you got the bad apple, sorry for you. Just do your researched mate. Cheers.
