As you suggested, the coins were just stuck in line to be included in a block, as they're now in the right wallet Smiley
Considering how freaking fast I quit the client upon getting the "coins sent" message, I can pretty much confirm that it's safe.

Well, it's been about 5-6 hours, and I didn't go with an explicit fee in the client settings so I guess it could be a matter of waiting.. It's never happened to me before, so I figured it had something to do with my handling of the software.

How long ago did you send it? Ive seen confirmations take up to 24 hours before.

Does the "coins sent" message in the official client mean that the transaction has actually been successfully broadcasted to the network and thus that the client is safe to shut down immediately afterwards? The reason I'm asking is because I sent a coin recently, got the dialog box confirmation, and shut down the client pretty hasty, but the coin is still not registered with the receiving address (not even a 0/unconfirmed).
