Mist is opensource, and probably the safest wallet besides hardware ones. What do you mean bid on domains?

Thanks, it was just wierd to drag my UTC file in there, and have it promptly crash. Seems to be working now after 10gig download.

Bidding on ethereum names. When viewing the site ( http://registrar.ens.domains/ ) the note at the bottom says:

Your Browser does not support Smart Contracts

You read from the Ethereum blockchain, but in order to interact with it from your browser, download an Ethereum enabled browser like Mist, Parity or install the Metamask Chrome Extension.

You have to provide Mist with your private keystore. Coudn't that technically be uploaded to a third party?

Who is using Mist?

And who is using it to bid on domains? If not Mist, then what?
