Antminer s1 isn't worth it, unless you can get it off real cheap and you have really cheap electricity.

Or at least free electricity and some benefits like home heating if you're in the northern hemisphere. Cheesy

I think you mean southern hemisphere.  Northern hemi is in summer mode right now and needs no extra heat.  In 6 months when the northern hemisphere needs heat the S1 will be like Block Eruptors - a paperweight.

Hello!  Right now, I'm really getting into mining.  I've been mining for about 2 months now and I've been switching from coin to coin, pool to pool, whatever.  Currently, I have 3 AntMiner U2s running at around 6gh/s.  I mainly mine peercoin, but as I said before I do sometimes switch around.  Recently, I switched phone carriers and got a new free phone, leaving me with my old phone that I can sell on eBay or Amazing for around $400.  So what I need to know is, would it still be worth it to sell it and get something like an AntMiner S1, or is it not even worth it anymore since the difficulty level has gotten so high?  Personally, I think it's worth it but I thought I'd check with you guys because I'm obviously not super experienced with these sort of the things.  Thanks for your help!

If you are mining for fun, why not? Cheesy
If you are looking for profit, I would suggest you to buy coins directly IMHO.

Mine at Jonny's Pool
Remember that if you do purchase an S1, you will need to purchase a PSU for it as well.

If you like having miners buy it but you'll be losing $ (or PPC in your case).  If you want the most PPC, send the cash to an exchange and buy PPC directly or buy BTC and convert to PPC.

I don't think so. Currently, I'm running 8 S1's (1.5 THs) and I'm to the point where I thinking of underclocking all my S1's. Electricity is getting out of control......Do not buy S1, you will be wasting your money, just wait for S3.

Try it out, mining is a lot of fun Smiley Don't even bother estimating your profit, as the most important factor is the price of the coin.

I'd say it's worth it. It will most definitely increase your revenue over what you're pulling in now. I've got one running right now that's pulling in a little under $5 USD/day mining BTC. If you can find one for $200, you should be good. But I wouldn't spend more than that on one at this point.

It depends how you personally determine the value of bitcoin. There is no yes/no definite answer. Mining is speculation. Feel free to speculate.
