Correction is just starting, so if somebody's thinking about buying bitcoins just wait few more days or weeks. Just watch the market.

Once a man, twice a child!
A friend of mine began talking about Bitcoin with me a few months ago... When it was valued at $2,000 a piece. A price point in which I can work with!
Within what feels like a blink of an eye, it's now at $15 k and all I can wonder is how a "small timer" like me can get involved. Have I missed the mark?
Now is that time a "small timer" like you can buy in. The correction is here and has taken the bitoin price into a plunge to $13k from an initial height of $19k+. Buy now if you can and do it immediately if you will. We expect the price to rebound and make its way to $20k+ before the end of Dec.

No it isn't late at all, you still plenty of time to get involved in Bitcoin even with a small savings. You just need to hold it longer to get more savings in future once you invest in Bitcoin.

It’s hard to know when the bubble will end. It’s impossible to know if the price will keep going up, and it’s hard to even guess. We also have no idea if going “short” right now, or betting that the price will decline, will be better than going “long,” or betting that the price will continue to go up over time.

I think even with small savings, you can do shirt term investments and see where it goes.

Moreover, BTC now is a very good way to make fast international transfer. So it can be useful anyway.

Never is too late, it is possible to invest now instead of postponing it. Since you think that it is too late.
If you can use fluctuation of this market you can even earn a significant amount of money. But think and study first, then find the best solution.

I believe the situation with bitcoin will change dramatically after New Year.
So I'd rather wait untill 2018 or invest a small sum in some promising alcoin right now.

Not at all! You can buy as little as you want. If you want to invest $1,000 you can easily do that. You just won't have a full bitcoin, you will have roughly  .07% of a bitcoin. This amount will still move up and down as bitcoin does.

I hope this helps!

To be honest, no one can determine how high the price of Bitcoin can go.
Few years ago there were faucets that were giving away up to 5 BTC a day for free. It was dust and nobody expected that the price could ever grow so much. It is possible that in the next few years someone will say the same about 5 satoshi. I think it is worth investing even small amounts in Bitcoin.

According to the current trend in bitcoin prices it is clear that bitcoin will continue to grow and evolve even with the emergence of different altcoins. Even small investments could be fairly rewarding, although one must consider the risks they are taking to invest in bitcoins as there's always a chance of losing your money.

It's never too late to invest, but remember, nothing is without risk. Plenty of people were asking the same thing when bitcoin went to 1k and they felt like they'd missed out. Then people at 4k said the same thing. Then at 10k etc etc. Will you in a few years time be ruing your decision not to buy in at 18k or whatever it's at now? With that being said, bitcoin is still always going to be a risky investment whatever price you buy in at, but the question you have to ask yourself is do you believe in bitcoin? If you do and you think it can go much higher then you should take the risk, but only invest what you can afford to lose. If you can't take the risk then maybe don't and just wait for your time to try buy in if the price ever falls.

I would advise you to wait this year and not buy anything. There is a version that soon there will be a correction, after which it will be possible to purchase at a pleasant price

That's actually really bad advice. People were waiting for the dip when bitcoin hit $2000 and here we are, they're still waiting I'm assuming (and missing out at the same time). And even if there comes a correction you will have to be very lucky snatching something up under $10,000. But you really have to ask yourself the following questions: Can I afford to lose the money I put in? And if so how much am I wiling to put in at the current price regardless if the price will go down tomorrow? If you can't answer on either you're most likely not fit to invest in a cryptocurrency at all.

in my view, no matter how big the price seems as compared to the past, we are very far away from the cryptos potential value. Though there is no exact way of measuring that potential, you can compare the crypto market with other markets to have an idea

but one of the main reasons that make me believe that the value has a long way to go before it reaches it's peak is the fact that bitcoin is still very user unfriendly.

right now it's almost impossible for a grandma to use bitcoin safely. Avoiding hacker attacks, learning to use a wallet such as electrum, setting up a hardware wallet, keeping the seed safe, creating a decent pin, checking the address before sending a transaction (they probably can't even see the tiny letters), triple checking the amount to be sent. All it takes is one screw up

But this could well change in the future, when more of the demand for cryptocurrencies starts coming from the unsavy. Because this creates a market for services targeted at making the coins safe and easy to be used by the average person

And when this happens, and regular people start feeling like it's safe to use cryptocurrency, the room for the market to grow will increase tremendously.

(yes i took this idea from andreas antonopoulos, I just worded it differently)

When Bitcoin price was $500 also many people was talking that it is the end and Bitcoin will be dead soon. Now you can see how it looks.
In other words there is never too late to invest in Bitcoin even little amounts! Wink

I dont think this is true anymore for bitcoin. My reasoning for that, is that bitcoin fees for transferring money is crazy right now, and that there are better and better alternatives around.

Sure bitcoin is most popular, but slowly and steadily people realise that this hyped bitcoin isnt even the best coin. Its just the most valuable right now.
In the future it will probaly rise more, but at some point the maximum amount of coins will be mined as well, and then what?

I rather suggest bitcoin cash, as it also generates a fair amount of hype. Hype is important, because that attracts people to it. Since it got some positive development in the near future, i think this coin is only going to rise. Probaly nowwhere near the "real" bitcoin, but still worth investing in.
(again, better alternatives then bitcoin cash in terms of coin abilitys, but that does not take away that alot of eyes and investors are all over this coin, purely because the name "bitcoin" in it.)

Even though you weren't able to get in when bitcoin is at $2,000, you can still buy it now if you intend to hold it for the long term. Bitcoin would continue to increase as long as there would be no major event that would make its price go down and would make people not to buy it. You are not required to purchase a whole bitcoin because it is divisible by satoshis so you can just buy a portion of it and then store in your wallet for maybe years. You can also buy bitcoin as a gateway for you to buy other altcoins that has still potential to increase in value.

Always invest money you can afford to lose and don't expect a quick windfall. Dollar cost averaging with Bitcoin (buying a fraction per month) and investing in some altcoin is your best bet. This is a long term investment LTC rose from $2 to $48  in 2013 and crashed back to $3 before rising again this year to $300.

I think the main problem is that you will be giving your last money ( as far as I understand ). So you will lose all your nerve cells looking on stock quotes. Try to put in the money you are comfortable with, this way you will act more rational.

I have known some people who started small amount, but with their hardwork and clever moves, they have earned hundreds of thousands now. Yes,  bitcoin value is too high at the moment, and the small amount we have can be very tiny to purchase btc,  but it is in our hands to make our money big. If the price will go up and up,  we can also benefit from it. Doing some research also will be very helpful and then invest on what you think will do good  on the market.

It is not too late to invest in BITCOIN because I believe that the price of Bitcoin will continously go upwards. Now is also the best time to invest because in the future you will regret the price for not having investing in the price today.

You can also join airdrops or free coins in exchange for ETHEREUM then TO BTC

Invest also in altcoins look for top 20 altcoins. Read before investing. You dont wanna lose your money right?

I'm in the same boat, thinking about putting some small savings in. I stalled on buying back when it was $400 a coin because I didn't believe in it. There's no way I'm not buying in now.

I wasn't even aware of the potential dip in btc coming around New Years; thanks for the heads up. I think that btc will be $500,000 - $1mil per coin at some point, but then again I'm extremely new to this and may be overly optimistic.

If people aroused some fear in you while warning you to be careful you can first start by careful investment, something like dothebeats did. This means, if you have in mind to invest X amount of money into promising crypto currencies however you still fear of an incoming correction of the whole market, invest only 20% of X into the market now (or better yet only 10%). The thing is to invest small chunks over a longer period of time, averaging high volatility and possible down-corrections of the market. And go for long-term investments.

And what if what we're seeing now is that correction and in a week we'll be at $20k? Poor guy will have missed his chance of making money.

OP, nobody will guide you by the hand since we are stepping into an unknown territory. Bitcoin has never been so pricy and it has never been eyed by Wall Street like it is now.
We are at a point where a single day can take us $5k up or down and most of us are people who bought it for a couple hundred USD and got into this upward spiral of 2017.
If you want to get in, do it, but use only the money you're able to lose with no remorse.

its really hard to tell my friend, but with the way things have been going this year I'm think its foolish to not atleast buy a little. if it bombs, well you tried but mostly you with make some money. Best bet is to probably wait for the price to drop a bit because it will happen. Then I would buy up what I can afford.

Cashback 15%
I started small when bitcoin was $200 a pop. Only can chuck in $20-$50 a week depending on my salary. Safely made a few bitcoins by just buying in constantly every week no matter what the price was. I started when a few people are already millionaires in the game and earning a decent income by just trading bitcoins. I tell myself that someday I'll also have the same amount of money these dudes have but first I need to build my bank. For over a year I managed to get 10+ bitcoins and held until May of this year where I sold almost everything. I still bought even though the price is $4400 and continued until I get comfortable on the stack that I have. Key is if you don't have the guts to lose money or any faith in what you're doing, don't do it. Everyone is still buying stocks where everyone else is a millionaire, and it's no different with bitcoin. You just got to have some faith in you.

Beefcake!!!
I think that it is still a good time to buy, but first you should understand a few things.

First the markets have been highly volatile lately, even more than usual.  So if you buy some don't be surprised if the price changes shortly after.  What I am getting at is that you should look at long tern investment, not short term (unless you have extensive knowledge and experience with sort term investing).

Second, while it is not too late, it may be unreasonable to expect the massive returns that others have enjoyed.  It may go up in the long run, but the days of $1000 turning into $1,000,000 may be over.  That doesn't mean that you can't make profits, but you should educate yourself and have reasonable expectations.

Third I consider cryptos, all of them, to be highly risky.  All of this is still in its infancy and anything can happen overnight.  There are definitely some existential risks to BTC and cryptos.  I don't think they will happen, but remember that any investment, no matter how good it looks, always has the chance to go belly up.  So I strongly suggest diversification and not going all in.  This stands not just for bitcoin, but for any investment.
