I just check the current price of ONT and i observed that it has moved up beyond the price you saw initially. The current market price is now $2.6. Imagine if you had bought at that initial price, you would have been in big profit by now, depending on the amount you invest into it. Some times, total supply is not a determinant. The developer of a coin can work towards making his coin to have a bull run,no matter the state of the market.
There are times you might not be able to tell what will happen to a coin. You may see it rising and think that is the peak, meanwhile it still has more potentials than that. We do not know what will happen next.

supposedly big announcement in 2 days about their codebase.... could move the coins price again pretty significantly. this is CRYPTO and a lot of times it doesn't make sense and ppl trade on sentiment, considering ONT is not as big a market cap as some others (i think its 26th atm) i could see it still make pretty significant move to the upside based on how well the announcement is received in 2 days. but i agree that given the big run up recently that it gets scarier to invest the more it runs up. gotta find a better bargain.... idk wtf link that was that was shared to their twitter but if you go directly to their twitter from their website i think its different. i didnt see that scam advertisement for sending some ETH to receive some back

Base on the chart it already start the bull run and $1.4 per coin with 1 billion coin for me is too high already.Maybe you should check their credential before pouring some investment in it so you won't regret it later.it's already #26 on live coin watch, i'm just going to wait till it's in the red.. lol
