you are missing the point with altcoins! there is no "natural" rise in altcoin market and if there were then it wouldn't be worth investing into such coins because they wouldn't really give you much of a profit.

what we have in altcoin market is pump and dumps and that means unnatural rises that happen fast. so the only thing you have to do is to adapt to these types of pump and dumps and be fast about getting in and out of these shitcoins for the most amount of profit.

What you mean by Ethereum 2.0? Improweded Ethereum after hardfork or some other coin which going to re-place Ethereum?
If you want to but ETH before hardfork than better to buy now I think. Because after hardfork price will grow if everything will good and they have some improvement with scalabity etc.

in my own opinion probably buying the real ethereum is still the best idea since it's very cheap and most popular than that upcoming eth 2.0. And as the matter of fact we have no certain information about that eth 2.0 so must choose the most reliable , indeed for sure investors will focus on the unique ethereum when market gradually increasing because 100% sure ethereum will follow to increase along with other altcoin in the market after the stabilization.

Nobody know that ethereum price will drop or rise when hard fork is happened, so it's just a gambling game, buy now and pray for the price rise later or wait for hard fork happened and then start to buying cheap token. Anyway, If I've $5k I won't put all the money in Ethereum.

One should be careful of falling victim of similar thing that happened to traders or investors when the hardfork of ethereum was announced.

I heard about Ethereum 2.0 but I don't think that it will be released in the nearest future. I think it would be better to stay in usd or bitcoin. I don't suggest invest in Ethereum before Constantinople, if team will delay it again, Eth will fall in several times.

I think for now we are only sure of the stability of Ethereum, we are not too certain of how the Ethereum 2.0 would be. It may not have an acceptable price like the current Ethereum.

I think the price is as good as it gets right now. I would suggest investing right about right now. Always try to remember to put some stop loss so you do not get bummed out if the price falls. In that case if you put something like 5% or so in stop loss you will get your cash back with a small 5% loss (who hasn't had that much of a loss in crypto) but if it goes even further you can recoup more ethereums later on and hope that when it goes up again when the 2.0 happens you will profit much more.

That is the defensive strategy of course, keeping the coins and putting stop loss, there is also offensive strategy where you keep on buying the more you can afford, don't just let it be at one entry point, price always changes, have multiple entry points and you are safer.

Ethereum 2.0 is still some time away so there's no real hurry if you're wanting to gain benefits from the increased usability and adoption by investing for that reason, however, with high quality cryptocurrency assets like this you're better off buying it as cheaply as you can and now it's representing good value and even though it could potentially get a little bit cheaper you'll find long term the current price is not overvalued whatsoever

there is no ethereum 2.0, and no it is not worth investing in it no matter what it is called. ethereum is a bad investment even if it has given some people big amounts of profit. it still is a terrible project because of all its flaws and bugs and the lack of important features such as decentralization and immutability and security. and when it comes to its price there is no future for it in long term because it has no cap. there literary is unlimited number of ETH available which will eventually make it as worthless as grains of sand.

I think you should invest now because when ethereum launch it's 2.0 platform the price of ethereum will increase at that time you can take your profit, investing after price increase isn't a good decision.

How long are you willing to wait for your investment to bear fruit? It's not the first time that the launch of ethereum 2.0 was delayed (due to delays on constantinople). If it is okay for you to buy now at $100 range and wait until 2020, then investing $5K tomorrow would be a fine decision.

For what its worth I think Ethereum is currently at the lower end of its range and is unlikely to fall much further unless it is forced lower by a collapse in the price of Bitcoin below $3,000. Don't forget that Bitcoin is still the main driver of the crypto market.

I think right now is not a good time to invest in ethereum, almost all holders sell all their ethereum when they heard that constantinople upgrade has been delayed because of the security issues. I suggest you wait a little bit more when the constantinople is nearly launched.

I'd invest now. If you invest earlier you have a chance of claiming airdrops and getting more coins if it forks. I don't think the fork will split ETH but a rule of thumb says that the earlier you get the coin the better as long as it's not the ATH Wink

That 30 USD pump and dump proved that ETH is weak so make sure you really want this coin. If you want it it's a good moment to buy but it's so weak that it could as well go 20% down if they mess up the fork.

It is a really tough call because Constantinople has been delayed for another month, due to the security bugs they've found.
Whether you decide to invest now or not, is subjective upon whatever reasons you might have for investing in the first place.
Many people are motivated by different things.
Are you investing to hold, or to make a quick turnaround? Remember, whatever is good for a goose, isn't necessarily good for the gander, you know? Personally, myself would probably invest a little before the update, especially if they're really going to add proof of stake to the new model
(I'm not entirely sure). The way I see it, my main goal personally, would be to invest when the market is at what might be considered a very low point.
if you invest later, and the price of Ethereum skyrockets, dues to its a major upgrade, you'll be angry with you're self for missing out.
