His intention is trying to hurt bitcoin by the looks of it. But was it a successful attempt? I am not sure. This guy is just trying to control the trend and help himself, just like any other rich people.

I've been reading so much lately about this douchebag and can't help but think that he's actually giving Bitcoin a lot more credibility simply by giving it so much attention. They say any publicity is good publicity and, in his case, as much as he tries to downplay the impact of Bitcoin I think he's actually giving it more credence in the process.

Initially he had hurt bitcoin by saying it is a fraud. But since then his words doesn't have any weight on bitcoin because he is just a manipulator and remember they bought a lot of bitcoin when it slump at $2900 because of his attacks. But as the investors getting used to his tirades and attacks, the market didn't react like before. On the other hand, it boost bitcoin because people suddenly became curious as what bitcoin is and most probably sway to put some investment on it. With that said, he positively help bitcoin gained prominence.

He knows exactly what he's doing.

his constant whining makes him look silly.

the only effect i can imagine is some positive attention. the more he complains the more people will be intrigued by what it is he has such a problem with. if it was less than nothing it wouldn't attract any comments.

and if bitcoin can't survive one moody asshole then it has bigger problems.

He's creating exposure to Bitcoin in the short term. People may think of him as some sort of joke now. But, that reputation won't last forever. It wouldn't surprise me if he's using his status for personal gain and will eventually come out and support Bitcoin

He's not having any negative effects on Bitcoin.

Jamie Dimon has become the butt of all jokes. He actually might be helping Bitcoin, because his views are seen as jaundiced and people discount his views. Now, even if somebody comes up with genuine criticism of Bitcoin, he might be ignored because his intentions will be questioned.

Well for my own opinion Jamie Dimon is helping bitcoin. why? because he wants to get the attention of the viewer. Bitcoin. I think Jamie did this before when Internet was introduced to the community.

I think he's helping Bitcoin, people who are not yet into bitcoin are now reading what is bitcoin and how it works, that guy has an authority in some niche so bad and good publicity is still publicity and bitcoin is getting attention from the industry Dimon is in.

I'm not sure that he's having any affect at all.  Some people thought he affected the drop last month, but I think that was more about China than anything he said.  It just happened that he made his initial comments at about the same time China made their move to block exchanges.

too much attention to bitcoin he's paying. Besides, his reasoning is kinda TOO stupid for a supposedly master mind like him. So I guess is safe to say he's helping promoting BTC

Exactly, OP! His continuous complaining about BTC indeed creates more exposure for it and more people tend to try it out. Especially with all the current rumours about "free money" (hardfork). The hostile stance some public persons openly take against BTC/crypto kind of shows that they see a lot of potential (or threat) in cryptocurrencies. Btw, he seems to regards the underlying blockchain technology as a positive thing.

He's helping himself and his company in the short term. That's it. In the long term will be irrelevant for Bitcoin
