there will always be a silver to bitcoins gold, its like visa and mastercard  Smiley

but that remembers me to a story: some months ago a guy wrote "ltc is dead, ill sell all at 2,53 USD, good luck to all others, bye"

... and weeks later ltc price was at 40 USD  Grin

litecoin was an awesome idea, but it is slowly dying now.
what is happening in litecoin development ? big nothing, and its just too sad to even look at litecointalk, it looks like abandoned city.

litecoin could go big, but there needs to be some activity, some good news, and not just hope that price will rise.

That might have been me. Oh the pain, and woe. I've learned my lesson from claiming LTC was dead! :-)

Litecoin's market cap is still 10x higher than its next closest competitor, and its pretty cool that it backs several microcryptos directly ala dogecoin.

In spite of this I get the feeling that one of the major problems for Litecoin is there's simply too many new coins out there for people to choose from. Holdings will inevitably be cashed out for any of the 100s of alternatives currently out there, unless there's some new reason to hold Litecoin.

So there seems to be hoards of Litecoin threads, Either vehemently for it or against it claiming 'official' death. Most of these threads are self-moderating so as to reinforce the views of the original poster. Which is bullshit nonsense.

So here is an unmoderated thread (by myself at least, Forum mods still apply) where you can freely discuss.

My personal views on Litecoin are that it has very little reason to hold the #2 spot anymore.

The majority of the reasons it ascended to the #2 spot are no longer valid arguments.

Sure it was 'ASIC proof', We all know how that worked out.
Sure it wasnt BitCoin. But there is 100's of 'Not BitCoins' now.

It was innovative until 9000 other people did it and improved or experimented with the formula.

The one thing that is still a valid reason for it to retain #2 is seniority and perhaps derivative works

Another interesting way to look at coins would be to rate them by Algo, of all coins using a specific Algo, which is top for each. Now rate each algo by relevance or importance. And that is your new 'top coins'
