Okay, another question: why is my (kryptqnick's) reputation at stake, if my job is to manage social networks for an ICO?

That's a difficult question to answer because everyone will have their own opinions and everyone can leave a trust rating based on that opinion. If someone thinks that you should have seen that something was a scam but continued to promote it they might think you are untrustworthy.

Okay, another question: why is my (kryptqnick's) reputation at stake, if my job is to manage social networks for an ICO? I can never be sure they won't scam people (even though I believe they won't, because they are already a pretty established company that sells cars and they plan to release tokens even if they don't reach the wanted funds), but it is not me who is a potential scammer, right? I am just the one posting news on their progress on various platforms. If they manage to scam others, I don't think I could do anything about it, I will be a rather low-level employee. I could only share info on how to find the scammers in real life, but they have true (I know, because I was in their office and it is located right where stated on their website) information on their official website with all the coordinates anyway.
Is it possible to avoid responsibility by stating from the very beginning that I was hired to manage social networks and cannot guarantee that this project is totally legit? I mean, of course neg trust on the official ICO account would be perfectly fine, but taking this job offer and risking my own account to be tagged red seems worth reconsidering to me.

dogs are cute.
as Jet Cash said, you should clearly state your position and responsibility related to this project
Please don't suggest this. People should respect other people's privacy, if OP doesn't want to disclose his alt/s, its ok, unless he is deciding to scam or get into shady stuff.

As for OP, you have no issues here, you're good to go, so long as you don't abuse your postion.

Answer was no from members above me but I'll try to make things more clear.
Since you are interested in managing, I can give you some examples:
1. Gianluca95 <-- this person was managing some signature campaigns and had alt, none problem.
2. DarkStar_ <-- our well known member has alt for sig managing but as you see, still no problem.
3. Our moderator hilariousandco has alt hilarousetc, none problem here too.
But if you decide to use alt like QuickSeller did, then it will fall you in trouble.

Alternative accounts are not welcomed on this forum. But does it count as alt accounts? I mean, one is just my own profile and the other one will be called like ND_ICO or something. How should I do it properly not to be violating forum's rules and customs?
18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.
you don't break any rules by simply having multiple accounts
what matter is the purpose and the way you use them in this forum Wink
as Jet Cash said, you should clearly state your position and responsibility related to this project
and your reputation will be at stake in this case
as a start, perhaps adding disclaimer statement on the bottom of the ANN ICO page you manage

Use a proxy if you're concerned, but as TheQuin said alt accounts are allowed. It's usually only an issue with the community if you use them for something dodgy.

To the best of my knowledge, it is a real company with real product that just wants their project to be monetized this way, so I don't think any scam is involved.

I'd be suspicious of any ICO. If they're asking for people's money for an investment then there's a high risk of a a scam happening or at the very least people losing money.

Lots of members have more than one account - my Talk Merit account for example. The restrictions are on the way that you use them. For example, these actions will get you into trouble.

- Cross rewarding with merit
- Creating positive trust entries
- Inter-account posting chat to boost promo threads.
- Pretending to give unbiased reviews
- probably some others that I've missed out.

To be safe, you should declare the relationship in your profile, and on the reputation board. You could also use your signature to promote the product.

There is no rule stopping you having alt accounts so there is nothing to worry about having the same IP.

The only problem people can have with it is if it is seen to be done for some nefarious purpose. Usually, it is people having many accounts to scam bounty campaigns by signing them all up to the same one. If they get caught they will probably end up with a red trust badge to wear.

Your only concern should be if this ICO does turn out to be a scam then any reputational damage done would be reflected on all your accounts.

I have a quick question and then I'll lock the topic. I am posting it here, because I didn't manage to find the answer myself. I am hired as a manager of social networks of a future ICO. To the best of my knowledge, it is a real company with real product that just wants their project to be monetized this way, so I don't think any scam is involved.
I will start working for them in September, managing all their profiles in facebook, telegram, instagram etc. They'll probably want me to manage their official account on bitcointalk as well. Obviously, that account and my kryptqnick profile will have the same IP and will be lead by one person. Alternative accounts are not welcomed on this forum. But does it count as alt accounts? I mean, one is just my own profile and the other one will be called like ND_ICO or something. How should I do it properly not to be violating forum's rules and customs?
