It's not even comparable. Unlike Cardano, Matic/Polygon actually has a decently healthy ecosystem of DApps that people actually use.

As for the token though, no idea about that. I'm personally not a fan of holding(outside of quick trades) layer-2 tokens; especially matic/polygon which isn't even technically a layer-2 today, and the fact that I dislike how the founders keep on hopping narratives.

They're different and far from each other. IMHO, matic is better and I am actually using it for payments. Regardless of what you may think about them if they don't have much progress or delivery to the actual project or with the same projects that are providing layer 2 solutions, the demand is there on it. I just checked and it is upgrading based on cmc, from MATIC to POL on Ethereum chain.

What do you think? despite being quite popular and well established, MATIC seems very slow, in the style of CARDANO during the last bullrun, promising but not delivering anything...

There are currently a lot of competitors in this segment of second layer solutions, what is your opinion on this? Will MATIC lose part of the market to these other projects? It would be a shame, I think Polygon is very interesting.

How can they both be similar? Matic or Polygon is a layer 2 solution on the Ethereum blockchain. It provides scaling solutions while Cardano has its blockchain which they are developing at a slow and steady process to build robust and regulated platforms for the decentralized apps. On price point, there is not much difference between them and both of them saw their ATH in the last bull run.

Matic is better than Cardano in every sense. The only pros of Cardano is it's a L1 system while matic is a L2 over ethereum.
Matic is leading on every metric The price of Matic is at the range of $0.8 while cardano is $0.5.
There are about 2000 working dapps on Matic while it's still below 100 for cardano. Dapp volume on Polygon is on the range of $1.4 billion while for cardano it's just $50 million.
The daily transaction on matic network are in millions while it at thousands in Cardano. Cardano is no way in comparison to Matic.
But both of their growth has slowed down due to severe competition on the sector and saturation for current volume.
