Tell me you were joking.

You can't make any money from a JS miner.

hey there

I can assure you goxlive isnt mining with your CPU. The thing is, that goxlive is updating its graph frequently, which simply uses lots of resources. The reason firefox is spiking to 25% is that the firefox javascript engine isnt multithreaded, aka it uses one of your cores to a 100%(which equals 25% of the total CPU power you have).

Just look at how it lags when there's lots of movement in the market.

Personally i think it's cool that there is the ability to "start mining" with someone elses computer if all they need to do is visit a webpage.

That already has existed for some time.  Javascript miners were the first.  Java miners can access GPU resources.  WebCL miners will make it even easier.

I think the reason for this is the mass of incoming data.

It doesn't contain any mining script AFAIK, there's just a script from google analytics (http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js) and it's own js for graphic (http://mtgoxlive.com/code.js)
Btw, you can check it yourself via html source Wink

Whenever i go to mtgoxlive, firefox's cpu usage spikes to 20-25% (on a quad core, btw), and the entire browser starts to lag. when i close it, cpu drops down to 0%, and nothing is lagging. is anyone else getting this? because i'm suspecting that they're running a js miner to make some extra money.
